Juliana's Pov:
Snapping my head at my back instantly, standing there was an old woman. My frown deepened as I looked back at her, her face looked familiar. It seems like I have seen her somewhere before but I couldn't think of a place.
"How can I help you?" She asked me again. I stared at her as if I just saw a ghost, and that's when her image popped inside my head. "I knew that I had seen her somewhere!" I screamed within.
"That was the old woman that complimented me during Lucien's coronation," merely remembering Lucien crushes my heart and makes my throat burn with bitterness. What he did to me flooded my head, how he humiliated me in the presence of everyone and made them all seek for my head. Shutting my eyes, I clenched my fist in anger.
How everyone bad-mouthed me, vibrated in my ear, and shattered me. I recalled the way all the crowds were wishing for my death, and this old woman was there that very day. So it is fucking obvious that she also yearns for my death like others.
"You again!" Snapping my eyes open, the word slipped out of my lips. Despite how calm it sounds but there was a hint of anger and pain in it. Her eyebrow twitched as she stares at me.
"What are you doing here?" I mumbled but she shrugged and kept staring at me deep in the soul like she could read my thoughts and see through me.
"You remembered," that was the only word that left her lips.
"Yes! I remembered everything," I answered heartbrokenly.
"Why are you sad?" She asked.
"I am sad for every single thing, you people cursed and hated my gut for no reason!
" I am bleeding inside but still no one wants me, they all wished me dead!!
"I was rejected by all my mates, you saw what happened at the coronation of my mate…… I was again rejected and trapped inside there for execution!!" I yelled.
My eyes started tearing up, wetting my cheeks. My heart yarns for comfort, I feel broken and torn within. My heart is bleeding, I am dying slowly within. I felt rejected and unwanted, they are all after my life. I have never done anything to deserve this pain and trauma that I am facing, I have given them thousands of reasons to accept and love me. I didn't create myself, the moon goddess did not me!!!
With my hand on my heart, I stumbled and fell to the ground looking pained and hurt. A sob escaped my throat as I felt light pierced through my heart and before I knew I transformed here and there.
"Ahh!!" I growled and shook the whole place, the bats swarmed and fled away as the rocks started falling from the top. I stared back at the old woman with eyes as red and terrifying as ever, yet she didn't even seem scared or make a move to leave. My eyes narrowed in confusion as I watched a smile creep into her lips. Walking towards me, she placed her two hands on my head as I bent a bit, murmuring some odd words. The noise started calming down, the rocks stopped falling as the bats flew back to their position.
I gazed at her and before I knew it I changed back to my normal self.
"Hmm….." She smiled as she glanced at my naked body, I yanked back to reality and quickly covered my body with my palms. I seemed uncomfortable and shy.
"I am also a girl, you know, and being old, it is nothing new…… so no need to cover up," turning around, she said when trying to suppress her laugh.
"Hmmm," I mumbled, looking embarrassed.
"How did you calm me down, who are you?" I suddenly asked, causing her to stop at her track.
"Follow me," she commands before walking out of the place. I hesitate for some minutes before I curiously stride toward her direction.
Stopping at something like a room, she stares back at me before pulling the door open. I swallowed before walking inside with her and entering the small room. I glanced around the place with awe, it is decorated beautifully that no one can even predict that it is inside a cave. For some moments I forgot that I was still inside a cave.
"You okay," her voice snapped out of reverie.
"Yes……. Yes, I am okay," I countered with uneasiness.
"Sit," she instructs.
"Hmmm….." I grunted before sitting quietly in front of her.
She sighed after staring at me for some minutes, I sat with nervousness and tension. First I didn't know her and she didn't run or foul-mouthed me after my transformation which made me curious and taming me the beast and making me transform back still got me confused.
She is the first person that has done that, she kept staring at me like she was reading my thoughts. My face caressed in confusion as I watched her behavior, there is something odd about her…… Something seems off about her, my instinct hasn't lied to me before and it won't start now because there is something about the woman in front of me.
"Who are you?" I quietly murmured to her the question that I have been clouding my head. She ignored me and continued staring at me with a blank expression, I can't even read her face to know what she is up to.
"I asked for you to tell me who you are?" I yelled, I have had enough of her strange behaviors.
"Why don't you want to answer me?"
"You are the only one that tamed the beast, something I couldn't even do," I calmly mumbled with pain.
"Why don't you tell me what I needed to know?" I swallowed hard. She sighed again before scanning my face thoughtfully.
"You want to know who I am?" She asked, I nodded at her.
"Fine!!" She smiled.
"I am a witch……. I didn't tame you down but you did," she blurted confusing me the most.
"How is that possible?" I voiced with confusion and desperation. Is she playing tricks on me? This is confusing and at the same time funny.
