Juliana's pov:
The guy in front of me was surely the true definition of a Greek god. I have always said that Lucien is handsome but oh! My goodness this one standing in front of me is a goddamn snack, his jet black hair flowed down to his shoulder. His hair looks so soft and silk that I want to run my hands on them.
I gawk at him unknowingly, he has a smooth spade-shaped beard. He has a manly gritted stubble, I smiled inwardly. I have always had a thing for mustache guys but so bad none of my previous mates had a beard except Lucien. His eyes dazzled in wonder with a sinful smirk across his lips as he watched me gawk at him but I ignored his behavior and focused back on his appearance. I have never seen a guy like this before, he looked so different and appealing at the same time which seems strange. I could tell that he has this devil may care outlook, he has a bristly eyebrow with a hawkish nose.
Despite the clothes that he was putting on, I could still see his broad muscular shoulders. He is well built, he has dark black almond-shaped eyes. His eyes glinted with passion in them as our eyes connected, I could feel the longing in his eyes for me which surprised me.
"Are you going to continue fucking me with your eyes or will you answer my question?" His manly deep voice snapped me back to my senses, I rolled my eyes at him as a silly smug slipped into his lips. Gosh! I feel fucking embarrassed, how could I carelessly be fucking him in my head…….. This is absurd?
"I asked you a question," his almond black eyes twinkled as he took a step towards me.
"What….. Question?" I asked with an arched brow.
"I asked if you have any boyfriend or are you married,"
"No, why did you…..
" Yes!!"
I didn't get to finish before he screamed unexpectedly with a smile on his lips, his sudden behavior surprised me and at the same had me confused. Why is he happy that I am single? My status had nothing to do with him, he is just a man of a higher caliber and I am a nobody. His joyous moment died now as he noticed the way I was staring at him, his sudden happiness makes me think that he has gone insane or that he left part of his brain to the rogue wolf.
"Hmmm," he seems nervous.
"I….. I know you might think that I have lost it but believe me when I said that I am completely fine," he mumbled with a nervous laugh. My frown deepened as I stared at him, sensing the atmosphere he chuckled before focusing his attention back on me.
"Do you have a mate, or do you care to have one?"
Tearing my eyes away from him, I smiled bitterly before staring at him dead in the eyes despite how cold and dreadful they looked. "I don't care about mates! I don't have any mate and I don't wish to have any,"
His facial expression saddened at my words, surprising me. He acts strange and I still don't know the reason but come to think of it, why would I want a mate when I know that they are still going to leave someday? Once they find out about my true identity they will curse and flee away from my life in a flash leaving pain and scar in my heart. I can't bring them in when I know that they will all seek my death once they discover my true identity. I know that I won't keep up with this fake identity forever, but I just wanted to live in the moment and enjoy every bit of it.
A strong aura radiant out of his body, I know he is a Lycan but apart from him being a Lycan. It seems like he came from a very powerful rank. He seems hurt and looks like he was having a word with his wolf, I don't know what but I feel a pull towards him. I don't have any wolf, so I can't detect what it was all about.
"Aren't you going to head back to where you were going? But once again thank you for saving me," I appreciated earning a smile from him. His once saddened expression glinted and softened.
"Yeah, I was actually going to my pack before I saw you," he said. I gave him a small smile before muttering "Thank you….." Turning around I decided to leave, my heart felt heavy to leave him but with too much determination I turned and started walking away.
"You are coming with me, I can't possibly leave you alone in this wood," I halt at my track at his word.
"Can't you hear me!" My heart beats in excitement knowing that he cares for me, swallowing hard I shoved the feelings away. I can't fall for someone that will leave me shattered and broken in the future, I continued walking away.
"I am talking to you," with a force he Yanked me back causing my head to hit his hard chest.
"Thanks for your kind gesture but I can't follow you to your pack," I said.
"You are coming with me," he demands.
"No, I won't," I said.
"Come on, we are going," he insists.
"No you won't tell me what to do," I maintained.
"You are coming with me!
" No!!"
This routine continued for a while before he sighed and stared me in the eyes, his two plans held my cheeks and I could feel an electric sparkle where his hand was touching me.
"This wood is scary for you to stay here without a wolf," his words got my attention. How did he know that I didn't have a wolf? Well, it is damn obvious that I didn't have a wolf but no one will know that I suppressed my wolf or traced my scent.
"I will be fine," I said.
"NEVER! I can't leave my mate out here," he murmured under his breath. I only heard *never* but I couldn't hear what he murmured afterward. He was fast and said everything in one go. I know that assuming I had my wolf I would be able to get a glimpse of what he said. I know that with my wolf ear and smartest I could hear him loud and clear but so bad, I had none.
"You are coming with me and that's it," he states leaving no room for argument. I smiled looking vulnerable at this moment, no need of pushing it because it seems like he has made up his mind. Is not like I have anywhere to go from here, and wanting to settle in somewhere has always been my wish since my transformation into this different version. So why don't I give it a try instead of prolonging it, because opportunities do come but once………… is better I dived in and grab it now that it knocks at my doorstep.
He stretched out his hand for me to hold, I raised my brow at him before walking away. He chuckled slightly, scratching his neck nervously. He ran towards me.
"You act mean, you know," he mumbled.
"Don't we need to get to your pack?" I ignored his statement and had my face focused on the road.
"Yeah!" He sounds embarrassed and uncomfortable. The atmosphere seems awkward. To smoothing the atmosphere, I asked amidst the tension lingering in the air.
"What is the name of your pack?"
"Black storm pack," he shortly replied. I gaped at him, that pack is the most powerful to ever originate in the whole history of the werewolf realm. Who doesn't know about that pack? A scary and dominating pack filled with Lycans and other powerful calibers of people. I shrink nervously with a terrified look.
"You okay," he calmly asked, noticing my sudden change of mood.
"Hmm….. I…. I mean yes, I am more than fine," I prevaricate with a forced smile but my body language gave it away.
"Wait!" Turning me around, I felt an electric sparkle shot through my whole body making me weak in my legs.
"You there," he asked, noticing my absence.
"Hmm….. Yeah," I mumbled and quickly distanced myself from him. His eyebrow arched up in hurt but he suddenly masked his expression.
"You know that you haven't told me your name," he said with a curious gaze, I know that he was just trying to change the topic.
"Ashley….." That was the only name that could pop up in my head. I shifted uncomfortably with my head lowered, I wish he doesn't see through me because I suck at lying. He licks his lips as he moans out the name, it rolls out of his lips sounding tempting and glorious.
"Ashley," I love how he pronounces the name with admiration and too much affection. I felt his eye change to a brown color, that was his Lycan's eye. It was as if he was struggling with his Lycan on who to take control. He clenched his fist tightly before he changed back to his normal color. All his behavior surprised and confused me at the same time leaving me only with suspicion.
"We need to go now," he said after a few hours of staring at me. I nodded at him and continued our walk, with a heavy and frightened heart I strode to the black storm pack with him by my side.
