Ryan's Pov:
Sitting behind the truck as one of my warriors drove us to the outrun pack, the images of the girl in my dream kept flooding my head. I didn't see her face very clearly, my vision was blurry during that period but I won't deny the fact that she looked stunning and mesmerizing. Who is that girl? Why is her image hunting me so badly? Stretching my head frustratedly, I let out a sigh.
I felt our truck halt and I knew that we had arrived. I noticed the driver unfastened his seat belt and proceeded to open my side of the car but I beat him to it. Pulling the door open, I slide down with eyes as cold as ever. Liam slowly walked beside me putting on the same expression. We can with the three slaves, my warriors were looking around everyone in case of anything.
"So here is the pack?" Nodding my head, I murmured to myself.
"Yes," they said in unison.
I walked around the place with anger and wrath, several dead bodies were lying on the ground. Using my leg I tried kicking them gently to know if they could in any way turn or wake up. I squatted a bit as I shook one of them, a disgusting smell was coming out from them. It seems like they have been dead for weeks now because the smell erupting from them is horrible.
"It looks like there has been an attack for weeks now," I blurted out.
"Yes, because the smell is too much," closing his nose with his hand, Liam complained.
"Yes! We escaped some weeks ago," the third slave confessed.
Standing up, I started pacing around the place with my hands on my back. "Where is the body of her best friend?" Looking around, I questioned.
"She escaped with her dead body," the same slave muttered. Staring at the empty air, I let out an angry smirk.
"Why?" Liam asked.
"We don't know…….. After her friend's death, she helped us escape when she ran away with the corpse," he explained.
"Escaped with a corpse," Liam murmured.
"Were they that close?" With a straight face, I asked him.
"Yes! More than close till the woman witnessed her transformed then everything changed that she wanted her dead," he uttered.
"So she didn't know about her identity since their friendship till her transformation?" Turning towards their direction, my brow perked up in anticipation.
"Yes, nobody knew that she was a beast, a curse till she transformed," he said with venom.
"Don't you dare!!...." I instantly shut my eyes, as I tried to control myself. The word got stuck at the tip of my tongue, I can't growl at him. No! This can't be happening to me, what is actually wrong with me? I so much wanted to snap his head for bad-mouthing her, what's really wrong with me?
"You okay?" Liam suspiciously questioned with a concerned look.
"Huh! Yeah," I forced out a smile.
"How did you people now escape?" I asked him, ignoring the concerned look I am getting from Liam like seriously I am good. He should stop caring about me.
"The thing we didn't know how she did……
"She stares at the gate and it breaks free," the slaves shrugged.
"She stares at the gate and it opens,"'I mumbled with surprise.
" Strange," Liam murmured.
"So where did you escape from?" Glancing around, I asked.
"She went through that place," pointing at the huge cliff there, the slave blurted. My heart heaved up and down in panic as I followed the direction of his hand, it can't be possible. He can't tell me that the girl jumped out from that cliff.
"After that cliff, comes the enormous ocean," I undoubtedly muttered.
"Doesn't that mean that she jumped from that huge cliff?" Liam unbelievably asked the slaves, they nod at him surprising him more.
Swallowing hard, I said with difficulty as I forced out the word "What did you expect from a beast, a cursed child……?"
"My king!" One of my warriors called, gaining our attention.
"Hmm…." My brow twitched up.
"It looks like Leo has finished drawing the mystery girl," he mumbled handing me the poster. Leo is my draftsman, he was the one that I assigned to go to Lucien and Taylor to get the drawing of the mystery girl.
Taking the paper from her, my breath stilled as I stared at the sketch of the beauty in front of me. My heart was beating so fast. Although it was inappropriate and shallow to admit it, I won't deny the fact that I felt lost in this picture. I felt captivated by her beauty, her deep ocean blue eyes stared deep inside my soul. It pulled me towards him, I felt like drowning in the picture that I didn't remember that I am outside with people.
Lifting my hands, I felt a spark as I slowly traced my hands from her head down to her face. I felt lost, a face seemed familiar to me like I have seen her somewhere but I couldn't place my finger on where exactly. I felt fucking drawn to her, I felt connected to her in some way……… there is this peace around me and in my heart, as I stare at the beauty in front of me, Ethan is restless as we all gawk at her.
"Leo finished work here because he drew her well," Liam complimented but I ignored him and continued looking at the image in front of me.
"Isn't it funny because she is pretty for a beast," Liam blurted out
"Uhhh!!!" I growled madly at him.
"You okay, buddy?" Flinching instantly, I asked in nervousness and fear.
"Hmmm….." Stretching my neck, I grunt nervously. I didn't even know when I growled at Liam, this is all confusing and devastating. How do I explain this?
"But you just growled at me," he said doubtingly.
"Yeah, it was a mistake….. Just forget about that,"
"I am sorry….." I apologized.
"Good though you act strange sometimes," nodding his head, he confessed. I gave him a phony smile before looking away.
Turning to one of my warriors, I gave him back the paper. I hesitated at first but finally shoved the paper inside his palms with anger, why am I feeling attracted to a cursed image? This is drawing me insane.
"My king, what am I to do with it?" He asked submissively.
"You all should go and help Leo as soon as we arrive to paste all the posters in every single place……. Both in the woods and all around this realm," I command before speeding out of the place.
