Ryan's Pov:
Standing in front of the window in my room, I felt the door slightly pull open. I heard footsteps approaching and I already knew who it was.
"Mom….." I called with my back still facing her.
"Hey! Ryan,"
"I heard that you summoned the Alphas of the moonlight and bright moon packs," she said before standing beside me.
"Yes," I shortly replied. I don't think I am in the mood for any discussion right now! I already have a lot in my head this period and it is exhausting.
"Why….?" She asked, sparing me a quick glance.
"Is nothing mom, I just wanted to have a serious conversation with them," I prevaricate.
Immediately the word left my lips, she glanced at me for some minutes before questioning "Is it about the mystery girl…..?"
I instantly snapped my head at her, how did she know about the mystery girl? Did Liam tell her anything?
"Don't look at me like that, the news is everywhere," she blurted out before I could even say a word. I released the breath that I was holding, before focusing my attention outside.
"So what's your plan?" After a few minutes, she questioned.
"Mtcheww…." I sighed.
"No idea yet……." I muttered.
"WHAT!!" She snapped.
"Mom! Why shouting?" I was irritated.
"Ryan, you still don't know what to do when the whole people are endangered……." She unbelievably uttered.
"Mom, that's why I need to speak with those two rascals," I said clearly, annoyed.
"Why did you want to speak with them?" She asked.
"I feel like they have something that they are not telling us," I voiced. I sounded so sure, since Lucien, the mystery girl, has bonded. I have this feeling that he might know little or big things about her. I still wonder why the moon goddess mated him to a beast, a monster! Does it also mean that she hates him too? Does she also feel what we feel here?
"I hate it that he got mated to her?" Ethan grumbled.
"Hey! You okay, I am happy that he got mated to a beast who slashed his leg off," I laughed within.
"Yeah, but still I don't like it," he complained.
"Why?" I suspiciously asked.
"I don't know but……. I am not just happy," he blurted.
"Confused wolf," I teased.
"We both are confused because we are the same," he drawled with a teasing eyebrow.
"No! You want a monster, we are not the same," I laughed.
"I don't know but I can't imagine her and Lucien together, it……..
"Hey! Is okay, enough," not wanting him to finish, I shove him at the back of my head and block him instantly. Which one is that he can't imagine the beast with Lucien? Does he feel bad for him, or does he in any way like the monster? Hell no! Ethan can't like a monster, never!
"You seemed lost, I have been talking for a while now," my mother's words snapped me back to reality.
"Hmm….." Those were the only words that left my lips.
"What are you thinking, what is it again?" She smoothly asked.
"Nothing, mom," I uttered.
"You know that you are terrible at lying," she said.
"I am serious, mom," I maintained.
"No! I have a feeling that you are……
She didn't get to finish as Liam banged inside my room, without caring to knock or make his presence known.
" Surprise!!" He screamed, causing us to quickly jerk up.
"Hey, !" I yelled. Ignoring me he bowed immediately as he sighted my mother "Greetings, my queen….. Queen Rebecca,"
"Nice to see you too, Liam…" she replied with a serious tone.
"Yeah," Liam uncomfortably mumbled.
"So how is your sister Bianca, I haven't seen her for days now?" She asked with concern all over her face.
"I have been busy that I didn't notice about that," Liam defends
"Good," she barely murmured, disappointed at his words causing Liam to nervously stretch his neck.
"So….." Turning to me, she asked "You no longer hang out with Bianca,"
"Mom, we have a bigger issue at hand, not Bianca," I angrily snapped. I am goddamn tired of her nonchalant attitude. We have a bigger issue at hand and all she could think about was Bianca.
"That is not an excuse," she uttered before quietly calming herself a bit "And that was the main reason that I need Bianca around you," she mumbled.
"Mom, Bianca is good so please can we discuss why we are here," I said with a forced smile plastered on my lips. This is Liam's half-sister that we are talking about and I wouldn't want him to feel bad about anything.
"Since you started those silly dreams, you have totally forgotten about Bianca," she fumes.
Has my mom finally lost it, or is she just indirectly doing this? This is Liam's sister that we are talking about not some other person and the Victim's brother is fucking here! I gave my mom**what the hell is wrong with you** kind of look. If she is playfully doing this then she needs to stop! This is an expensive joke, I can't have Liam think that I am toying with his sister, though I have nothing to do with the so-called girl.
Walking up to me as she grasps that I am now damn angry, "Is not that I don't understand you, I know that you are going through a lot, especially this period but………" she paused as she gently glanced at me.
Does she even understand? She kept saying and acting like she understands when actually she does the opposite.
"I know that you have a lot in your hands now, the mystery girl in your dream. The idea of haven't found your mate and now the mysterious wolf hunting down almost the whole pack," she mumbled, I glanced at Liam who gave me a phony smile with a small nod. I nod back at him, he seemed uncomfortable with the topic but my mom is the type that doesn't know when to talk or to shut up.
"So you need someone beside you, and that person is no other but Bianca," she finished with a satisfactory smile.
"Mom, I have heard but I think I need to focus more on this issue at hand," I uttered as anger flashed across my eyes.
"Yes! You need to solve this problem once and for all……… this is a sensitive issue but it is draining and I won't like you breaking down after all this and that's why I needed you and Bianca together," she grinned with a pleading eye. She knew that I couldn't say no to her.
"Fine, mom, I have heard," I mumbled with difficulty.
"Great!" She grinned before composing herself. Liam looked away from her, gaining my attention. It seems like he wasn't cool with the idea.
"What do you expect when who we were talking about is no other than his sister, so tell how you wanted him to react?" Ethan asked with a raised brow.
"I thought that I blocked you," I groaned.
"You can't shut me off forever," with a triumphant smile, he spits.
"Whatever," I grumbled.
"So what's next?" My mom's question snapped me back.
"How?" My eyes knitted in confusion.
"I mean about the she-wolf," she muttered.
"Mom, I have told you everything," I countered with a sigh.
"I just need you to do this perfectly, this is your first mission as the king after your father handed you over…….. Make me proud, don't relax. This issue is a sensitive one and everyone is looking up to you to do something,"
"You need to hurry up and solve this issue, go for that beast before she comes for you……..," she said with a soothing tone.
"I have never let my people down and I am planning to do so!" I declared with seriousness and an icy tone.
"I know what I gave birth to, I will trust you," she mumbled with a blooming smile.
"We will give it our best," Liam suddenly mumbled. I quickly glanced at him, he gave me a nod before diverting his attention back to my mother.
"Yes, your best is needed," my mom coldly voiced.
"Ryan!" She called, causing me to turn in her direction.
"You have a lot of enemies! A lot of them are lurking around waiting for you to crumble…… Many of the Alphas don't like you, especially when you took the throne after your father's death, and with this issue, they are all waiting to see what you could do. They are waiting to laugh and point fingers at you and take the throne," she barely mumbled with pain before replacing it with venom.
"I know mom," I have always known that I have a lot of enemies but due to my cruelty, strength, and power, none of them dares to strike. I have conquered a lot of packs and challenged many strong Alphas and still come out victorious. I became fearless and strong at a tender age, even before my father passed away. I was known as a cruel, brutal, and arrogant king but only Liam knew who I am apart from what I displayed outside for people to see. He knew the real me.
"Make us proud and save your people," she mumbles.
"I will…." I shortly replied before walking towards my bed. She turned to leave, stroking Liam at his shoulder with a tender smile she reached for the door. Twisting the handle, she stopped before turning around.
"Ryan!" She called again.
"Mom," I said with drawled lips.
"I want the mysterious she-wolf to die under your sword, I want you to slash her head with your sword. I want you to present her head on my desk, do me this favor and have her wiped out of the soil of this earth………" with that she turned and left the room.
