Ryan's Pov:
I have been sitting in my study for a while now, avoiding everyone just to clear my head. The image on that poster has been haunting my dreams and messing with my senses every single minute. She seems familiar but no matter how I strived to know if I could remember even if to get a little glimpse of where I have seen her, I still can't remember.
I felt a pull by that piece of sketch, the image was calling unto me…….. I feel attracted to her which scares me, this is a mysterious monster that we are talking about and not just an ordinary body. I haven't been myself for long now, all this started with those mystery nightmares. Am I losing it already? Because from the look of things I am going insane. How on earth can I feel attracted to a cursed child? Or does she think that she can cast a spell on me?
Yeah! It is obvious that she is behind what is happening to me, I am sure that's how she manipulated her other mates because there is no way the moon goddess can mate someone to a beast! A curse! That is ridiculous.
"I don't think we are okay, something is wrong somewhere," I mumbled.
"Hey, Ethan, come on…… do you have any idea what we should do?"
"Honestly, it is as confusing as hell. Sorry but I have no idea and I couldn't feel her," he voiced startling me.
"Feel what, exactly?"
"To be sincere I don't know, but since yesterday I have been restless like something is missing……. Like something is not right," he muttered with confusion.
"Of course, we are not alright," I sadly snarled.
"Not about us, Ryan," he shortly replied.
"What…….
" Hey, buddy," I was interrupted by Liam as he bashed inside my study. I glared at him before looking away.
"Wow! Why glaring at me?" He faked hurt, "I have been looking everywhere for you, or don't you miss me," he whined.
"Liam, I have a lot in my head…….. And this thing you are saying is the least of my problems, so do me a favor and shut up," I stressed the last word with gritty teeth.
"Really! Fine! Fine! My hands are up, don't bite off my head," he said when rolling his eyes.
"So tell me what the problem is this time around because you have been avoiding every single soul……… And Bianca was searching for you everywhere with your mother, Queen Rebecca," he said.
"Why are you avoiding everyone?" He asked with a drawn eyebrow.
"Look Liam, I need to be left alone……… my head is full," I sighed. How am I to tell him that the image on that poster, that the image of that cursed girl haunts me every single time? That I am attracted to her, that will be a complete turn-off. I so much wanted someone to talk to without sounding crazy! I needed someone to disclose this too without getting a disgusted stare! Because every single soul disliked the girl including me, I also despised her gut and everything about her.
"Your head is so full that you can't talk about it?" He asked.
"I will explain to you at the right time," I said, earning a sad nod from him.
"Is it about the mystery girl?" He questioned me after studying me for a while, I nodded at him in approval.
"What about her?" He kept pushing, I trust Liam never to allow this topic to slide especially when he sees that I am troubled.
"So any news about the mystery girl?"
"Has anyone found or said anything about her?" Ignoring his question, I asked him.
He let out a frustrated sigh when he noticed that I am not going to talk about it, "Yeah, and that's why I have been looking for you," he mumbled when dropping a file on my desk.
I stretched my hand forward and took the file from him. "These are the people that claimed to have seen her," he said.
"This one said that they saw the beast lurking around the woods," I uttered when pointing my hand at the middle of the paper where it was written.
"Yes!" He countered.
"I set a ban and restricted any packs from accepting her…….. So it is obvious that she will be roaming around the woods," I said while in deep thought with my hands placed under my jaw.
"You are right," Liam asserted, "So what about other wolves that normally go for a run in the woods? What if she slaughters them?" Liam's question got my attention, he is right. Leaving that monster to continue meandering around the woods is deadly and at the same time very dangerous.
That means endangering the lives of the innocent ones, and you can't tell our kids to stop running in the woods because of that monster! But in other ways, I can't allow them to put their lives in danger either.
"For now no more running in the woods, every pack will be provided with a huge open space where they will be having their runs to avoid putting their lives in danger," I declare.
"That sounds great," Liam gave me a thump with a lingering smile across his lips.
"I want you to go make it known to every single pack," I commanded, he nodded before standing up and exiting my room.
Pulling the side drawer of my table, I brought out the poster where her face was sketched. I kept it to always stare at it whenever I feel down or angry because it always gives me consensus and like-mindedness. After staring at her picture I sighed and looked away. I needed to clear my head in the woods and used the opportunity to look for that evil cursed child.
Squeezing the sketch of her in my palms, I tossed it away and strolled out of the room with anger and bitterness. Whatever it takes, I need to put an end to it. She can't keep tormenting my soul and at the same time mutilating my people, it is never possible. I won't back down without having her head slashed with her body severely wounded and scarred.
