Suzy's POV
"It is okay Jeffery, drop those memories at this table, I am here for you," I said softly. "I am close to you now." Our gaze met brief and he looked away, down at the beer he was holding in his hand.
"I should drink it out then." I finished his beer and we order three more beer, he continues drinking and I noticed he was getting drunk, he must be a light drinker.
"Jeffery, it's okay." I took the beer from his hand, we still have to go back home, at this raiment I might call a destination driver.
"She is now mad at me, I deceived her, Cindy.." He muttered. "She is too beautiful, how did I come to lie to her." He looked at me. "I should just tell her the truth, but I can't, making her worried will hurt my heart."
Jeffery looked at me and then laughed sarcastically and look down, supporting his chin with his hand. "Suzy, am even telling you this too, am so sorry." He paused. "Good thing I don't remember anything that happens after I get drunk, else I will be embarrassed to have burdened you."
Tears pooled in my eyes, it is a good thing since he won't know how much I am hurting seeing him love someone else, someone that is not me, Cindy of all persons. "Jeffery I love you," I told him and he looks up at me.
"What are you saying now." He looked away from me like he had just woken up from a hallucination. "I must be hearing things." He chuckled and lift his beer to his mouth but I took it from him.
"No, you are not." He watched me as I get up from my chair and walk over to him. "Good thing you don't remember anything when you are drunk, but I wish you remember what am about to do now." I leans close to him and kissed his lips.
Stablish High-school.
The next day at school, Jeffery who does not remember anything from last night walked over to Suzy in the class. "Suzy." He called out and she who was chatting with her friends turned to him.
"Yes." She wonders if he has something to say about the kiss yesterday, her fingers closed on her lap, curious eyes watching.
"Did you relief your worried mind yesterday?" He asked and she nods with a smile spread on her face.
"Yes, thanks to you."
"I am happy to hear that, hope I did not trouble you with anything yesterday, because I don't remember anything after getting myself drunk." He asked her and Suzy shook her head, the kiss should be a secret.
"No, not at all." She did a small wave with her hands. "We just had fun and gave each other some comforting words."
"That is good then." He turned and left for his chair, Cindy sneezed and Janet turned to her.
"Cindy, are you alright?" She asked and Jeffery looked over that Cindy who nod, he was a little worried as Janet went further to touch Cindy's forehead. "You are, I was about to get worried." Janet smiled and Jeffery who heard it breathe a sigh of relief.
The bell rang and Kelly faces them with a joyful smile. "It is library class time." She said putting her books into her bag.
"I hate this time." Salsa, one of the students whine and put her head down on the desk and Dahlia chuckled.
"You are fond of sleeping in the library." She closed her bag. "You can do that since nobody cares." She stood up.
Salsa sat up and glare at Dahlia and her friends. "You all are just lucky, am not in the mood to disfigure faces." Salsa turns to her friends. "Daisy, Sofia, let's go." Salsa got up to leave.
Magda the leader of the other girls dragged Salsa's hair and tuck it hard. "Were you talking to my friends like that!" The other students turned their head to see what was going on between the mean girls.
Salsa pushed Magda's hands away from her hair. "Don't let me start with you, Magda." Salsa said trying hard to calm herself down. "And when next you grab my hair, I will make sure that yours is pulled out."
"What!" Magda raised her hands to slap Salsa.
"What are you trying to do now huh!" Suzy's voice made them all stop and the two girls turn their head to watch her stand from her seat and the class went quiet. "It's library class now, whenever you are out of this school you can both wrestle that out!" Suzy picked up her book and left the glass with her two friends, Vera and Bella.
"Wow!" Some boys in class exclaimed. "The princess is done talking and the mean girls are finally silent." Just like that, they started leaving the class for the library one after the other.
"Cindy, let's go," Kelly told Cindy as she got up from her seat with Janet.
"Go on girls am coming, let me drop this in my locker." She lifts some of her notes for her friends to see, they both nod and left the class, Cindy put her book in the locker and walked out of the class, just then someone grabbed her hands.
