Jeffery Walsh POV
I sat down in my room looking at the picture I always look at in my free time, the little pretty girl with the most beautiful smile I have ever seen, covered in colours.
I gently touched the face of the girl in the picture. "Where in the world are you, where have you disappeared to Cindy." I am so sorry for leaving her without a word, in the past, I didn't get the chance to tell her I was going away.
I just left her with a promise, asking her to wait for me, I miss her so much. "If just once, just one time, I will love to see you again Cindy." I know I will recognise her at first sight, no matter how grownup she would be now, I was sure that I will recognise her.
"Please, come out of your hiding place, where I can see you and touch you." I gently caress the little face in the picture as tears filled my eyes.
Cindy White POV
I sat down with my father at the dining table eating dinner, I know I had to forget about Jeffery but, now it was more difficult, seeing him at school, it will be harder to stop my feelings, I thought I could avoid him, but in the future, I might keep bumping into him and it makes me so sad.
"Cindy, what is wrong?" I heard my father's voice and lookup.
"Huh!"
"You're crying." He told me as he pointed at my face.
"What? Crying?" I touched my face and look down at my palm, he was right, I was in tears without even knowing it. I was also surprised and I look up at my father. "Why am I sweating from my eyes?"
"I should be asking you." He told me, with this worried look on his face, I didn't want to bother him with my sadness.
"It is just sweat." I quickly wipe off my tears. "I am okay." I smile in other to convince him, he still has that curious gaze in his eyes. "I am also done eating. Thank you." I stood up and cleared my plate.
"You didn't even take two-bite out of your meal." He told me but I had already left, it will be so obvious if I continue staying there, whereas I don't feel like eating anything either.
I gently close my room door and sat on my bed, what is wrong with me? "Wake up from this daze Cindy, let's forget him as he has forgotten you," I spoke out loud to myself. I need to erase him from my heart for good. I put on my headphone and played the music loudly, anything that can block my thoughts from thinking of him.
Soon I started feeling the music, I stood up and started dancing, from dancing I began to since, it was amazing how I can fall for music, in my little room, I felt like a free bird, losing all of myself to the music that plays as I dance to its tune.
Stablish High-school
The next day in class, class three homeroom teacher walked into the class, saluted him and sat down. He wrote something on the blackboard and turned to the class.
"Today we have it to be a riddle class, and that will be done by the girls, is there any volunteer?" Mr Chester asked and Cindy looked around, knowing that they might call her name since she was good at this.
Cindy stood up and put on a very funny face. "Sir, can I go to the pharmacy?" She asked and all eyes turned to her.
"What is wrong?" Mr Chester asked her.
"Sir, I came up with some headache." She touched her head, pretending to feel pain.
"Are you running away because you don't want to participate in this class?" He asked her and the students chuckled.
Cindy looks over at Jeffery and also saw him laughing, she rolled her eyes and turn back to the teacher. "No sir."
"Okay, you can go." He told her and she left the class. Outside the class, Cindy scoffed as she remembers the smile on Jeffrey's face. "He is rude!" She sighed and walked away to the pharmacy to go lay down till the class is over.
The bell goes off and Cindy return to class, she sat down and Russeli came over to her, he put his hand on her forehead to feel her temperature. "Are you still feeling pains?" He asked her with a worried expression.
Cindy looked up at him, sure enough, he was the one here for her. "No." She shook her head gently. "I am okay after taking some drugs."
Russeli breath a sigh of relief, but then his eyes filled with guilt. "Was it because I shot your forehead the other day?"
His words made me laugh, he is so naive. "How can it be the cause."
"I feel guilty." He told me and I look at him, she knows that she should still feel awkward about the kiss, but, she didn't, she had no feelings for him, apart from friendship.
"You shouldn't be and whereas I am okay now." Cindy flashed him a smile, he nods and then returned to his seat.
"Seem like you love her." Chris, one of Russell's friend said and Russeli smile.
"She's my friend, I have to go to take care of her." He responded and looked down at his note to continue what he was doing.
"Remember friendship begat love," Awson told him with a smile.
"Cut it out, boys," Russeli told them and they giggle, he shook his head and continue his study.
"Are you charmed now?" D'mally asked Jeffery and Jeffery looked at him.
"How?"
"By the way she answered those riddles correctly." D'mally grin, Suzy have been the one who answered nine out of fifteen riddle Mr Chester had asked, they have seen how Jeffery smiled when she answered them correctly.
"She is good." Jeffery smile, turning his head over to stare at Suzy who was chatting with her friends. "I am amazed by her intelligence."
His friends chuckled, he told them before to cut the crab, but now he was making it so obvious that he is attracted to her. "But, I wonder why that girl left class." D'mally looked over in Cindy's direction.
"Which girl?" Jeffery asked, his eyes still on Suzy who stood up and left the class.
"Cin..." D'mally was about to say her name when Jeffery got up from his chair.
"I will be right back." He told them and went after Suzy.
"I wanted to say, Cindy.." D'mally completed his statement even if Jeffery wasn't there to listen.
"Cindy is very good at riddles, I wonder if her headache is now relieved," Chad added.
"Shouldn't we tell we tell him it is Cindy White of his childhood?" D'mally and Chad had also known about his feelings for her then, they have always called him Cindy's boyfriend and he will always giggle.
"I don't think that is a good idea, if he were interested he would have asked us and whereas he is in love with Suzy now, see, he went after her."
"I wonder if Cindy recognises him, they were so close," D'mally muttered.
"Maybe he recognises her, but now hates her."
D'mally furrowed his brow as he looked at Chad with a serious expression, the expression even scares Chad. "Jeffery can never hate Cindy, never! He just doesn't know."
