Jeffery Walsh POV
I walked upstairs, through the hallway heading towards the nurse office, I saw her come out, the girl I have called a bumper, the girl I have humiliated at the party, the girl I have walked past and not recognised.
I took a quick step to her. "Cindy," I called out as I look her in her face, now I see her closely, she looks like the girl in the picture, the girl I have always known and loved as a child. "Cindy White." I saw her stills and tears immediately filled her eyes like they were on mine.
"Yes, do you have any bad installed to say to me?" She asked me and it hit my heart like a thorn.
"Cindy..." I was speechless as I don't know what else to say, just looking at her face reminded me of Saturday, I was at fault and yet I called her all sort of names. "You are Cindy White, I am sorry, I did not recognise you." I stretched my hands to touch her but she moved back away from me.
"Why?" She shouted in tears. "Do you know me? Have we seen each other before?" She sniffles and I halt at her word. "Did you now recognise me? Are you done humiliating me?"
I pressed my lips together, my eyes blurred with tears as I shook my head. "I don't know it's you, Cindy," I said honestly, if I had known I wouldn't have said all those things, all the time we bump into each other, I should have recognised her, I was so silly.
"Remember, you said I am bad luck." Her lips quiver as tears rolled down her flawless cheek. "You said I am a stalker, you said I am troublesome."
I held her hands as my hand tremble. "Cindy... Cindy no." I shook my head, I couldn't let her hate me, not now. "You can't be those." I shook my head, looking at her eyes with my pleading eyes.
"Let go!" She shouted and swing my hand off hers, gritting her teeth and I knew she was angry, angry at me. "Do you know how long I waited at that playground fourteen years ago?" She looked up at me and my heart sank.
"Do you know how much time I spent, to tell you...I stayed there from seven in the morning to the next day, thinking you would come, but you deceived me, you lied to me, you made a promise you couldn't keep!" She shouted in a pained voice.
"Cindy no..." I started to say something but she cuts me off.
"You know what...now I know you hate me because you washed me away from your memories." I shook my heart profusely. "So please Jeffery, let's stop now." She turned around to leave but I hug her back, making her stop before she could leave, but she struggled to push me away, I was frightened, frightened that if she walks out on me I will lose her forever.
"Do you not miss me." My words made her stop moving. "I miss you so much Cindy, I miss you." I close my eyes as I lean my head on her shoulder.
For a moment I heard her sob. "Let go, Jeffery, let go of me." She held my hands that were around her and pulled them down. "I just can't face you now Jeffery." She told me with her back turned at me, without another glance she walked away and I couldn't follow, I just watched her leave like a lost sheep in tears.

They were all back in class after the race and Jeffery couldn't take his eyes off Cindy and it didn't go unnoticed in the class, he could hear few whispers but he just can't look away from the girl he has been searching for.
"Suzy, why is your crush looking at Cindy with those eyes on longing," Bella asked Suzy who was speechless.
"Perhaps, he has started falling in love with her," Vera added since this was the first time Jeffery have ever stare at a girl for that long and in that mood.
Suzy gave her friends a hard glare. "That can never happen!" She said out loud and they became silent.
"Are you alright now?" Russeli who went close to Cindy asked, placing a bottle of juice on her desk for her.
Cindy looked up and nod with a thin smile. "Yes I am, am alright." She too, could hear the few whispers in the class but she didn't look over to Jeffrey's seat, she was mad at him, very angry that he had only remembered her now.
"It is good to hear." Russeli looked at her for a while, she looked so skinny and her cheek has also gotten thin a bit. "Seems you have not been eating lately, I will buy you a meal today."
"Russeli, not today please." She said softly, looking into his eyes, she knew he meant well, but she was not in the mood at the moment. "I wish to be alone."
Russeli looked at her sad eyes, Cindy had never been this way, he knew something was wrong, but he didn't press the matter long. "Okay, whenever you need me, I will be at your beck and call." He told her and left for his seat.
