"Hi, Cindy."
"Happy birthday Suzy." Cindy forced a thin smile.
Suzy smirked. "Thanks." Suzy looked around, there were many people here and many eyes as well, also Jeffery was here too. She looks at Cindy again. "Can I talk to you at the restroom for a minute?"
Cindy was confused, why would Suzy want to talk to her at the restroom when they can talk here. "What's the problem?"
"Come with me," Suzy said and walked into the restroom with Cindy behind. She made sure the place was empty and the next thing she did was to push Cindy to the wall.
"Suzy, what is wrong?" Cindy asked her with a shocked expression.
"You know right!" Suzy said furiously as her eyes darkened.
"Know what?" Cindy was perplexed as she looks at the angry Suzy, she knew she did nothing wrong with Suzy, she barely talks to her in class, and now she knew what?
Suzy scoffed. "I am amazed at your pretence." She steps close to Cindy with her brow furrowed. "You know Jeffery from childhood, didn't you?"
Cindy was surprised. "How did you...how did you find out?" She knew Suzy only from this school, she knows that Suzy won't know this else someone told her, and it can't be Janet, because Janet is not so close to Suzy and Janet doesn't even know that Jeffery was her childhood friend.
"How won't I know when act like this?" Suzy gave her a hard glare. "I know that Jeffery doesn't know you as his childhood friend, since he doesn't recognise you. Jeffery loves me now, he has fallen for me, so leave... even though you love him, cause I can see it in you eyes, leave now, leave my party, and leave the school!" Suzy shouted.
"Why should I?" Cindy asked with tears in her eyes and Suzy slapped her hard across the face.
"Why should you leave?" Suzy scoffed. That's because you could be an obstacle." She paused. "He told me that he hates his childhood friend so much, that is why he left her, if you don’t want Jeffery to be hurt, then you had better left, it is my party and I want you to leave this moment. Go away!" She shouted and walked out. She can't bear to see Jeffery and Cindy reunite, she will send her away.
Tears rolled down from Cindy's eyes as she slides down to the floor. "Now it is clear." She muttered and wipe off her tears.
She got up from the floor and went into the party that was still in its full swing, she gathered her things in a daze, she was glad that her friends were on the dance floor and did not see her like this, everyone was so busy having fun that they can barely see someone that was in pain or tears.
She turned to leave as Jeffery who had just taken a glass of red wine was mistakenly hit by someone and the wine splashed all over Cindy's face and white dress and people turned their head as some chuckled.
Cindy looked down at her dress that had just been ruined by the red wine that empties on it. "Sor.." Jeffery who was about to apologise stopped when he saw who it was. "It's you again." Cindy looks at him.
"Are you a stroke of bad luck? Huh!" He said in a cold voice as tears rolled down Cindy's eyes. "Or, are you following me around to cause troubles, cause I think you are just a wretched stalker?" He looks at her all over. "Or rather, are you a bumper? Where the heck did you come from, were you sent?" His words were so indifferent that it made Cindy's heartache.
"I am sorry." She apologise even when she was the victim, wine drains down her face, falling to her white dress and causing more stain to it. "I am sorry, forgive my clumsiness." She looked down, gripping her dress tight to suppress her tears.
"Suit yourself," Jeffery said and walked out, as he left, he wonders if he was too harsh on her, but on second thought. "She deserves it!" He said without looking back.
"I have to go," Cindy said to herself and turn to leave, sexy who had watched all these smirked and followed Cindy out.
"Hey!" She called and Cindy stopped, turning around to face her, once they were outside. "Now, have you realised it?" Suzy chuckled as Cindy who had nothing else to say to the girl in her front, walked away in tears, without looking back.
Inside the hall, Chad who had been dancing saw Jeffery sitting down on a chair in a mood that he didn't have before, walked over to him. "Jeffery, what are you downcast like this?"
Jeffery who was looking down at his hands looks up at Chad. "It's just a girl I ran into, she is bad luck." He exhaled softly.
Chad who thinks everything was fun, smile. "Which girl is that?"
"I don't have any idea, I have seen her in school and also in class too, I don't know her name, but she seems to have a bad fate with me in every encounter." Jeffery lifts a glass of wine and sips it softly.
"I don't understand," Chad said honestly.
"Every time we happen to cross path, there is always bad luck." Jeffery leans back to his chair, as he remembered the tears in her eyes, he didn't want to think about it but it was still on his mind.
"Will you let that spoil your fun?" Chad asked him. "Cheer up guy." He smiles and left for the dance floor again.

After so much fun, drinks, cutting of cakes and taking of photos, the party came to an end and everyone left for home.
Suzy took her bath and sat down by her mirror stand, looking at the necklace Jeffery gave her, out of all the gifts she was giving, this was the one she cherishes most, it was giving to her by the boy she had fallen in love with.
Jeffery Walsh POV
I lay on his bed as talks to Cindy's picture that I held in my hands. "Cindy the party was over and I still did not see you, the first time in years I enjoyed a New York party." I smile softly.
It was awkward talking to a picture of the little girl I love, but she was the only one I share things with. When I was a child, I always tell Cindy everything about me, even before I let my parents know, Cindy was more than a lover to me.
"But, there was someone who made me angry, she is a bad luck, always causing trouble whenever we cross path." I touched the smiling Cindy in the picture. "I am no longer angry after seeing your smiling face."
"I just hope you are happy wherever you are," I said softly and hug the picture to myself and fell asleep.
Cindy was seen in her room in tears as she turns around her bed feeling pains, her heartache so much, she remembered what Suzy told her, she also remembered Jeffrey's words.
"He hates you, Cindy he hates you, so leave...leave!" Suzy's words echo in her head and she buried her face on her pillow sobbing uncontrollably with her hands gripping the pillow.
