Cindy turned in surprise to see Jeffery hold her hands and looking at her face and she stops moving, after talking to him at the nurse office she hasn't even glance his way, just like she had told him, she was really tired and wants to hate him.
"You caught a cold Cindy." Jeffery put his hands on her forehead and felt her body temperature, Cindy recovered from her shock and step backwards as she pulled her hands away from his grip.
"I am alright and don't concern yourself with me." She turned around to leave.
"How can I not?" Jeffery called out and Cindy halt, her back still turned at him. "I know you so well Cindy, you have to see the school nurse for drug else it would become severe." Cindy closed her eyes, she remembered in the past that Jeffery was always the first to know when she was getting ill.
She faced him sharply. "Who the heck are you to know me too well!" She shouted, the hall was already quiet as the other students had gone to the library. "I told you to say away from me cause I can't see you right now, please Jeffery pretend I don't exist anymore since you once did that." She turned around and walked away without looking back.
Jeffery was her disappear down the stairs and he closed his eyes, how will he do that when she is the only one that occupies his heart.
In the library, Cindy sat with her friends reading, the library was very big and the doors were soundproof, it was also very quiet that if a needle were to fall it will make a great sound, well it was a library.
Cindy felt so dizzy that she could no longer read, she rests her head on the desk and her friends looked at her worried. "Cindy are you okay?" Kelly whispered.
Cindy raised her head again and flash her friends a thin smile. "Yes, I just felt like resting my head down a little." She whispers and opens her book again to continue reading but she couldn't keep her focus on any line.
"Are you sure you are okay?" Janet asked, not convinced enough.
"Yes." I smile. "It seems this book am reading is too boring." Her two friends chuckled. "I should go change it for something more fun."
"Okay." Cindy got up from her chair, but she felt dizzy and couldn't see the way properly, she held the desk for support. "What's wrong?" Kelly asked her.
"Nothing." Cindy forced a smile and her friends nod and faced their books again, Cindy walked over to the shelf that was filled with book, as many as you wish to read, she put the ones she was holding back on the shelf and squat down to rest for a while.
Jeffery who has been watching her since she sat on the desk in the library followed her to the shelf and saw how she squat and buried her face in her arms. "Cindy, you are not okay."
She lifts her head when she heard the familiar voice, she held the shelf for support and got up. "What the heck are you saying?" Her voice was too low and too weak, she took another book and turned to leave but Jeffery held her wrist.
He held it up and she faces him. "Even your pulse is weak." Cindy tries to pull her hands away from his grip.
"Let go of my hands." She said softly, unable to free herself from his grip. "Don't you get it, Jeffery?" She looks up at his face.
"You are not okay, Cindy," Jeffery muttered softly again and this time Cindy raised her voice.
"Yes, I am not okay! I am sick, I caught the flu, but why must I get sick, why must you care, who are you to care?" She swallowed hard and look up at him as tears linger in her eyes. "Jeffery, let me go of me now and careless." She pulls her hand away as Russeli came over to the shelf and saw them.
"Cindy are you okay?" He looked at her and saw the tears in her eyes.
"Russeli, please take me away from him," Cindy said softly and face Russeli.
"Let’s go." Russeli crosses his hand on Cindy's shoulder to support her as he leads her away after giving Jeffery one angry glance, when they were successfully out of the library, Russeli stopped and turn to her. "Cindy your body temperature is hot."
"I caught a cold, I have to take some drugs from the nurse office, so go on to the library." Cindy gently pulls away from Russeli.
"You need to leave school early today Cindy, you have to rest, I will go get you a permission pass." Russeli turned to leave but Cindy held his hands.
"Thank you." She said softly and Russeli looked at her face, he wants to go to that boy that is hurting her and give him a push but he was holding back because Cindy sees him as a friend and nothing more, he wish Cindy would look at him and not Jeffery.
He flashed her a smile. "It is nothing." He left to go get the permission pass while Cindy went over to the nurse office.
