Stablish High-school
The next day at school, all students were out on the volleyball court in their gym wear, they were all happy since most of them love this game.
Mr Henry stood in their front to address them, other tears were also present. "Okay, the female students of class three will play volleyball in today's gym class, by the way, the finals of the race haven't been concluded yet." Mr Henry looked around the hall. "Is Cindy White here?" He asked since she was good at hiding lately.
"Yes sir." Cindy White said softly from the sport she was sitting in as all eyes turned to her, she was done hiding, now there was no point in doing that since Jeffery had known her name already.
"I thought you ran away again." Mr Henry said and everyone chuckled, Cindy bites down her lips in embarrassment, was that what they all thought?
"No sir, I won't do that again." She said softly again, but she did not look up, she could still feel the student looking at her, she was known in this school, so everyone will know when she is absent or present, well that happens when you are good at sport and school works.
"Okay." Mr Henry turned to the students. "I will group the females in class three into two teams for this game." He paused and look around. "The first team are Suzy, Vera, Bella, Elle, Daisy and Sofia, the second team are, Cindy, Janet, Kelly, Dahlia, Magda and Amanda."
As they were called, they all stood in their positions, separated by a net. "Alright, the rest of you should cheer them up." He turned to the girls. "Alright girls, are you ready?"
Kelly who was in the same team as Cindy walked close to her. "Can you do this?" She asked, Cindy was good at sports, but not at all of them, so it made Kelly worried.
Cindy nod, giving her an assuring smile. "I have to try my best." She taps Kelly's shoulder and stood in position.
"She can't play this game." Chad who was sitting next to Jeffery muttered, looking over to Cindy, he knew that Cindy always avoids this sport in school, she always shies away from it.
"I know it's not her speciality." Jeffery was also worried, his eyes on Cindy, as a kid, Cindy had told him the sport she hates so much, and this was one of the first three, Russeli on the other hands, felt uneasy as he watched the game with his palm clasp together.
Suzy who was in her position could see Jeffery staring at Cindy and it provoked her more, she bites down her lips and glared at Cindy who took no notice of her. "Cindy, you are going to get hurt for disobeying me." She thinks to herself.
"Okay, let the game be..." Mr Henry was about to say something when he heard someone get up from his chair.
"Sir," Jeffery called out and Mr Henry turned to look at him.
"Yes transferred student." All the other students looked over at Jeffery and Cindy also did with her lips pressed together, wonder what Jeffery will say this time.
Jeffery took a good look at her before speaking. "Sir, I think Cindy is not okay." There were few whispers, but Jeffery doesn't mind.
"How?" Mr Henry looked from Cindy to Jeffery.
Jeffery look at Cindy again and touch his hair softly, thinking of what he would come up with as a better excuse to make her not play the sport, as a child, he had always given excuses for her and she was always grateful. "She was ill yesterday and her body is not yet recovered for today's sport."
All eyes turned to Cindy and she feels like dying here out of embarrassment, she closed her eyes, cursing Jeffery in her mind, why does he have to act like an asshole again. "Cindy are you ill?" Hearing the voice of Mr Henry she looked up.
She shook her head and gave a thin smile. "No sir, I am okay, I can play this sport." She did a little demonstration with her hand to assure him, and she believes she looks silly because some student sniggered.
"Okay." Mr Henry turned to Jeffery. "She said she can do it."
Jeffery stares at Cindy for a while and then he shrugged. "Sure, she can." He said sarcastically and sat down, crossing his arm, his eyes still on her.
"Okay, let the game begin." Mr Henry blew the whistle and they started. "Yes good, hit the ball Dahlia, let's go girls, let's go!" He clapped his hand and they continue playing.
"You can do it, girls!" Salsa shouted, cheering them on from where she sat, Kelly, blocked the ball from hitting Cindy who duck and Kelly pass the ball over.
"That's it, girls!" Mr Henry shouted.
"Thank Kelly," Cindy said softly, knowing that Kelly was watching out for her.
"No worries, I have got your backs." Kelly smile at her and Suzy's team play on, grounding the ball at Cindy's team court earning them a score point, and the students cheered them on, calling Suzy's name.
