No One's POV

“Are you angry with me?”, He asked to which Grace instantly nodded.
“Why did you kill him? Or John of our society?”, She questioned back but her voice came a little more than a whisper.
“I killed John because he had betrayed my sister, Allison, sweetheart! And he had done a few more things which were unforgivable in my eyes. So he needed to be punished and he should have kept in his mind that Karma returns back to everyone someday.”, He answered.
‘In that way, it will also return to you.’, Grace thought but didn’t say it aloud.
“And today, I killed him to protect you, sweetheart!”
Grace’s eyes scrunched in confusion. “I don't understand how you were protecting me? It was his son, James, who tried to force himself on me, not him. He didn’t do anything to me.”
“What? His son, James? The man whom I killed tonight has no son named James and his son died a long time ago. And for your clarification, he was just like us, not human.”
Both Grace and Zayden started thinking about the new information which they just received. Zayden swore to kill that person mercilessly who dared to touch his sweetheart! He had to find more information about him, and for that, he needed to work on it because it was not something that could be handled by Eric.
“But still you shouldn’t have killed him.”
“You wont understand how things go in our world, sweetheart!”, He answered.
“Then tell me. I will try.”, She replied quickly. She wanted to know the reason for which her husband murdered someone. Zayden chuckled at her naive attempt to understand something which she could never understand.
“If you insist...then I will try to explain. There is a simple rule in our world. ‘Kill or get killed’. I guess even humans apply the same rule when it comes to saving themselves from wild animals.”, He explained.
“So it means Jame’s father tried to kill you? And you had to kill him in return to save yourself from getting killed?”, She asked innocently.
“Kind of...yes”, He partly lied. They both stayed silent for a while.
‘But why does he want to kill Zayden? Is he bad? Maybe...he is just like his fake son?’, Grace thought. For a while, she forgot everything about how close they were.
“Are you still mad at me?”, He asked hesitatingly.
“Shouldn’t I be?”, Grace asked. Zayden stared at her for a few moments before speaking.
“No. I can’t bear your silence, sweetheart. I know you can never love me but at least don’t hate me or stop talking to me. It hurts too much. You were not even looking at me. Do you know how much it hurts!”, He said painfully.
“But why? Why are my feelings important to you? You wanted to marry me, isn’t that enough for you?”, She asked.
“Isn't that obvious? I love you so much, sweetheart! And I just didn’t want to marry you. I wanted you for so many reasons that I can’t even count.”, He confessed bluntly as he always does, making Grace speechless for a while.
“Why do you love me, Zayden?”, She asked the question which disturbed her always. “I don’t have anything that will make anybody love me. I am not beautiful nor am I a princess. So, why do you love me? This doesn’t make any sense.”
Zayden immediately straightened his posture as she said those words. His brows narrowed in confusion.
“Why do you think so low of yourself?”, He asked in return. “Why can’t I love you? I love everything about you. The very first time I saw you, I fell in love with you. I have never felt like this even for my own fated mate. You have no idea how beautiful you are. Everytime you smile, you just make my day. And the most important fact being, that you are mine...all mine”, He said bluntly with too much possessiveness.
Her cheeks went red as she blushed. But Zayden wasn’t satisfied with her blush alone.
“Say it, sweetheart.”, He demanded.
She raised her eyes to meet him. “W.what?”, She stuttered. She knew exactly what he wanted her to say. She had started knowing his dominating nature by now.
“Say that you are mine.”, He said with obsession.
‘This is so embarrassing. Lord please save me.’, She prayed.
When she didn’t say anything, Zayden cupped her face with his hands and forced her to look at him. It wasn’t a forced gesture, but a demanding one for sure. His eyes were glowing golden.
“I am waiting, sweetheart.”
“I..I am married to you. So, isn’t it enough to know that I...I am your wife.”, She said nervously.
“I know but I still want to hear it from you.”, He demanded again.
‘How can I forget that my husband is dominating, arrogant, stubborn and demanding and I am stuck with him forever.’, She thought.
She saw Zayden waiting and sighed, knowing that he wouldn’t let her live in peace until he heard what he wanted to hear. “I.I..am yours.”, She said in a low tone, not having the strength to speak it aloud. These simple three words brought a smile to his lips. It felt so nice.
‘I am waiting for the day when you will say that you love me.’, Zayden’s wolf thought.
‘Back to reality, Mister. Don’t dream so high that you will get hurt when it breaks.’, Zayden brought him back to reality.
‘Only if you knew…’, Zayden’s wolf stopped speaking and disappeared without completing his sentence, leaving Zayden in confusion. Zayden was now sure of one thing that his wolf was definitely hiding something from him and no doubt it was related to Grace.
Coming back to reality, he stared at Grace’s lips and started leaning towards her lips. It was the perfect time to claim them. He had her face still cupped in his palms and his eyes zeroed on his lips.
‘So beautiful!,’, He whispered when he was too close to her face.
‘Z.Zayden…”, Grace tried to stop him, but to no avail. No one could stop him from getting what’s rightfully his.
