No One’s POV

The moment Zayden parked his car in the parking lot, and followed Grace, as she scurried her way towards the store.
“Why are you in such a hurry?”
“It's the weekend today. That’s why the price of the groceries is low and the coward will be too much to buy them. So, I need to get everything before others.”, Grace said with the thought of saving money. After all, she belonged to that family where she had learned the importance of even a single penny.
“Why are you so miser?”, Zayden joked.
“Why? Are you a billionaire?”, Grace asked sarcastically.
“Ye...s”, Zayden answered but by that time, Grace had already walked inside the store. He shook his head in defeat. He knew no husband could ever win with his wife and he was no more different. But the truth was, he liked losing to her. ‘Finally her fear is going away!’, He thought. Zayden mentally thanked Grace for bringing them to the small store where his gun couldn’t be detected. There were just a few CCTV cameras as security and he was doubtful whether they were even working or not.
“So, what should we buy?”, Zayden asked. There were so many people and so many things around him and for the first time, he was confused.
“I’ll get the groceries and the vegetables. You can get whatever you want….like snacks! Okay?”, She asked.
“Okay. But let me know when the basket gets heavy. Don’t carry it like a donkey, okay?”, He joked again. Grace glared at him and went toward the groceries section. Once she completed the shopping in that section. She picked up all the vegetables and the fruits. Now that her basket was heavy, she started looking for Zayden so that they could leave but he was nowhere to be found. Suddenly her eyes fell upon the board, symbolizing the non-vegetarian section.
She had never been concerned about that section before but now that she knew her husband was a mons...she meant a werewolf then there was a high chance of him being non-vegetarian.
She went into that section but before she could have purchased anything someone held her arm.
‘When did Zayden come here?”, She thought as she knew, only he had the guts to hold her arm. She turned around but didn’t meet her husband but her co-worker in the restaurant, Paul.
She used to ignore him because he had once proposed to her and coming from a conservative family, she quickly rejected his proposal and almost stopped talking with him.
“Paul?”, She gasped and instantly checked her surroundings, to see for Zayden. She knew how bad his anger was and how much he hates her being near another man. Not to forget, she didn’t forget the morning session and was not in the mood to witness another round of misunderstanding like before. Because her husband had the power to know her emotions and feelings.
‘What if he assumes everything based on Paul’s feelings and wouldn’t listen to me again?’, She thought.
“What are you doing here, Paul?”, She asked him and pulled her arms away from his grip.
“I came to purchase meat for the restaurant and saw you. How are you, Grace?”, Paul again wanted to touch her but Grace stepped back because of two reasons. One because they were in public and she didn’t want to have any drama there and second, Zayden was around and he would kill him if he saw her with him.
“I am doing good, Paul. And you better stay away from me because Zayden is here.”
“So what? I am not afraid of that dog.” He said boldly.
“But you should be.”, Zayden said as he entered the scene. Grace’s eyes widened in shock and fear.
‘No more misunderstanding, please.’, She prayed.
“Zayden. I can explain.”, Grace said to Zayden as he glared at Paul. ‘Please don’t start any drama in the public.’, She prayed again. The way they both were staring at each other, confirmed that they hated each other from the bottom of their heart.
“I am not scared of dogs! So, you better use your scary aura on someone else.”, Paul said boldly even though he was shivering in fear with the thought of challenging an alpha. And Zayden knew this. Paul was a normal vampire but a good one. Zayden’s wolf sensed most of the things about him in a few seconds. Since that town or that store didn’t belong to anyone’s area so they were free to roam in the town.
Zayden knew that Paul was scared to his bones. No normal vampire or weakling had the audacity to stand in front of Zayden and openly challenge his power-no one except of course Grace. But, Grace would never dare that.
Hearing Paul, Zayden didn’t get angry or furious, he just smirked.
‘Why is he smirking?’, Grace thought. It was an evil smirk that was scaring the hell out of her.
“I don’t have a scary aura, boy. I am another name for fear.”, Zayden said as he stepped closer to Paul. Grace rolled her eyes at his comment.
‘Seems like he is not interested in music but movies which have cliche dialogues. Nothing can exceed his arrogance.’, She thought.
To show off in front of Grace, Paul stepped forward just like Zayden did and scoffed at his comment. “Have you ever heard of anyone getting scared of dogs?”
‘Oh my god! Why the hell Paul is planning to get himself killed and why is he calling Zayden a dog again and again? Before something bad happens I have to stop it.’With this thought, Grace shook her head and stood between them, and looked at Zayden.
“It’s really not what you think, Zayden. I met Paul by just a mere coincidence.!”, She explained as she didn’t want him to doubt her again. She was about to say more when Zayden interrupted her.
“I trust you, sweetheart! But not him.”
‘Wow! He trusts me.’, Grace smiled at this fact but her smile didn’t last for long.
“Grace, I know you are scared of this person or say of his real identity but I know somehow who could help you to get away from this dog. All the werewolves have to listen to their werewolf king and queen. I can talk to them. I am sure they will help you.”
Hearing him, Zayden started fuming in anger and his old possessiveness came back. He took hold of her arm and pulled her close to him. Grace wanted to roll her eyes again at his possessiveness, but she knew it would be of no use!
More than that, she was thinking about how Paul knew the real identity of Zayden.
“She will never leave me!”, Zayden declared.
“One complaint. One single complaint from her to the Queen Crystal will give her old life to her.”, Paul said instantly.
Zayden’s grip tightened on her arm. He believed that Grace would choose to leave him and return to her previous life, whenever she would get a chance. And by using the way which Paul just said, Grace could really return back to her old life. Though he was an alpha werewolf queen was the queen of the Alphas. It was not that he was afraid of her but her powers were the descendant of the Moon goddess and his wolf was the first son of the Moon goddess. So, there was no way he could stand against her.
“Grace! Listen to me. You don't have to live with this slave, who had spent half of his life by sucking others dick. Not only him, in fact the whole werewolves had spent their early life by working under vampires as their slaves.”, Grace gasped at Paul's words. How could he say such things about and wondered whether they were true? But more than that, she was afraid of what Zayden would do after listening to him.
But, when she looked at Zayden, she saw him calmly standing, as if Paul didn’t say anything.
“Paul, I am thankful for your concern but I don’t want to leave my husband. So, please understand and stop all this now.”
“Husband? Seriously? Everyone knows that you were forced. Moreover, what do you mean by staying your whole life with him? Now, you are staying with a man who can convert into dog but later on, even your babies will be among them.”, Paul said. Zayden closed his eyes to control the growing anger. His wolf was now getting out of control. Without thinking twice, he grasped the basket which Grace was holding and went out to the counter. Truth be told, he didn’t want to lose his self-control and kill that leech in front of humans. Because if he did so, he might regret it in the future. Grace appreciated his way of calming his anger.
“Paul. You are crossing the line, now. I appreciate your concern for me but enough is enough.”
“Do you really want to stay with him, Grace? Is that you want? Just answer my last question. I promise I won’t bother you anymore.”
Grace went silent at this. What did she want? She herself didn’t know. She was sure that she didn’t want Zayden in her life but then she promised her mother to give her one chance to her marriage. She can’t break the promise that she made to her mother.
“I..I have accepted him, Paul.”, Grace partly lied.
“Okay then! You should go. He must be waiting.”
“Hmm..Bye Paul.”, Grace muttered and saw Zayden waiting for her. She gave him a weak smile and walked toward him with the thought that finally, the chapter of Paul had ended in her life. Now that he knew that she was married, he would leave thinking of her. But she didn’t know that he had other plans to get her. He was in love with Grace when she was just eight and out of nowhere someone just claimed her as his.
