No One’s POV

Grace looked around her surroundings when Zayden drove outside the villa. She noticed that the place was very beautiful. There were so many trees around them on both sides of the road. She had always been in love with nature and living in exactly such an area was like a dream coming true. She decided to walk in this place barefoot, someday.
They drove in silence for a while. Grace felt uneasy to be so quiet. There should be something to talk about!
“There are basically three grades in the werewolves.”, Zayden said out of nowhere, so he felt it necessary to share this piece of information with her. “Alpha, Beta and Omega. The leader of the pack or say wolf is Alpha.”
“So, you are the Alpha and Eric is your beta, right.”
“You got that right. And the rest of my men are Omega. Generally they are the weakest among all the three.”
“But...but they don’t look weak.”, She pointed out.
“That’s because I kept training them on a regular basis.”, He explained. “It’s their fate if they are born weak but it’s their fault if they die weak.”
“Ohh”, Grace nodded her head and suddenly she remembered the word ‘LUNA’ which she had heard his men calling her. But before she could have opened her mouth to ask this question, her question was already answered.
“The life partner or say the other partner destined or chosen by an alpha is called Luna.”, He said smilingly. “And we call them ‘MATE’.”
‘Destined or Chosen?’
“So, I am your chosen..mate?”, Grace asked to which he nodded his head. ‘I knew it. Obviously, even god wouldn't have destined someone for a person like him.’
“Are you still angry with me?”, Zayden asked again when he felt that Grace was not going to ask anything.
“No, I am not angry. Whatever happened in the morning was….misunderstanding and I believe even others would have behaved in the same way or worse by hitting me.”
“First, I would never ever hurt you physically. And second, I am not asking about yesterday.”, He said, giving her a side glance.
“Then?”
“About the wedding day!”, He said in a low tone. Grace became silent and her mind started recalling whatever he did to her and her family on the day before yesterday. “Please tell me.”, He said again/ “I know I did wrong but that is the only thing which I don’t regret even though I know I was wrong.”
Grace wondered what she should say in return without hurting Zayden. Yes, she was angry. And yes, she was upset with the fact that she got married to a person like him. But these were not the things that she should tell him directly.
“I..I don’t know about the anger but I can’t...f.forgive you.”, She confessed, mustering all her courage. Zayden was hurt by her words. But truth to be told, he expected that. He knew that she wouldn’t accept him with open arms! But he craved that. He craved her touch! He started getting angry at himself for doing so.
Grace noticed his grip tightening on the steering. She decided to calm down his anger.
“But...whatever happened, happened in the past. We still have a future, right?”, She tried to convince him. She knew that there was no use in being angry now. Also, she wasn’t a person who preserves the bad moments of the past and regrets them forever. She was a person who believes in moving forward in life no matter what happens.
Zayden gave her a smile of appreciation. Grace didn’t say it to him but he looked so...cute! A part of her was thankful to him for respecting her being. She was glad to witness his care for her. There was no doubt in it that he cares for her by observing all the incidents in the past two days. But she couldn’t love him because only two days had passed and who knows how he would behave with him in the future? Grace kept thinking all this on her own.
“Can I play the song?”, She asked.
“You don’t have to ask me, sweetheart. Do as you wish.”, He smiled. Without wasting another second, she played the song and smiled when she heard the song.

Zayden didn’t know that this day would come this soon. He knew that this was Grace’s favorite song so he had arranged the playlist of the songs in this way so that whenever she would have played the song in his car then ‘Thousand years’ would have played. He smiled, looking at the smile on her lips.
“This is my favorite song!”, Grace shared but instead of answering that he knew, he acted all innocent.
“Really?”
“Yes! It’s just so….amazing!”, She said enthusiastically. “And what’s your favorite song?”, She asked with a smile. Zayden chuckled at her question.
“Are you alway this childish? Do you really think that a person like me would have any favorite song?”, He asked jokingly.
“What’s so childish in this question?”, She asked, trying to defend herself. “And why wouldn’t a person like you have any favorite song?”
“Whoops! My wife is angry.”, Zayden joked again, which added fuel to her anger. He threw his hand in surrender when he saw her glaring at him. “Fine! Fine! No more jokes now. I don’t have any favorite song.”, He answered.
“That’s impossible.”
“Why?”
“Because...everyone listens to music. So, there has to be a favorite.”, She reasoned.
“But I am not interested in music!”, Zayden confessed. Grace looked at him as if he was an alien. Zayden kept driving and knew what Grace would be thinking. He knew that she always wished her husband to be a cook and interested in music and musical instruments but he was nowhere near her expectation.
Grace said a low ‘OH’ and then went silent. She kept observing him from the corner of her eyes. She noticed that whenever he used to think about something deeply. He used to bite his lower lips.
‘And he tells me that I am childish.’, She thought.
“I..I wanted to share something.”, She said nervously, after a while.
“Go on.”, he said while taking a sharp cut off the road.
“I...I wanted to..c.coninue my job.”, She said. Zayden gave her a quick side glance.
“Why? If you want anything then tell me, I will give it to you.”, He said.
“It’s not like that.”, Grace said and was about to lie that ‘My job brings the feeling of independence and etc etc’ but the real reason for continuing her job was to finance her family. Since she knew that Zayden had the power to sense her emotions, she went against her earlier plan. “I don’t like sitting at home doing nothing.”, She said, which was the truth.
“If that’s the case then I would recommend you to wait for a while until we shift back to the pack house. That place is owned by me so I would be assured of your safety unlike this place where vampires are free to roam anywhere. And now, I am scared of your safety.”
Grace had heard about vampires from other people of the town but she felt like it was a myth but not anymore.
‘But when vampires didn’t harm me earlier then they surely won’t harm me now. Right?’, She thought.
“Safety?”, She asked, getting curious.
“Yes, they will try to hurt you because they know my weakness now.”, Zayden stated as if it was a fact.
His weakness? Me? How The questions troubled her.
“Is my family safe?”, She asked.
“Yes, they are! And they will be as long as you stay by my side.”, Grace nodded her head after listening to Zayden’s words. Because she knew that he wouldn’t give a damn about her family’s protection if she would not stay by his side. For the first time, even after staying with Zayden for this long, she was not feeling scared unlike other times and it amazed her to feel safe with him. She had started trusting the fact that Zayden wouldn’t hurt her in a million years!
