No One’s POV

“You are really not angry at me?”, Grace asked again to reconfirm, as they drove to their house.
“No, sweetheart. No matter how many times I want to be mad to be mad at you, I just can’t be. I wonder what you have done to me!”, Zayden confessed his love boldly and smiled at her. Grace hid the blush which had almost crept on her cheek. “You have no idea how much I was tempted to kill him right then and there. But, I didn’t want you to hate me more.”, He added.
“And for that thank you so much, Zayden!”, She said to which he just nodded. “Umm..h.how does he know what you are?”, She asked in a low tone.
“I am sorry, sweetheart! That’s not my place to answer your question. I don’t want to scare you more than you already are.”, He said and took a sharp turn.
Grace understood a lot about him from the last few hours. It was true that Zayden had very bad anger issues but she also noticed that he tries his best to control his anger around her. Along with that, she noticed that he talks very little. It was only with her that he was so talkative. He spoke only when required. Unknown to Zayden, this was the only quality in him that Grace liked about him. That’s another thing that sometimes his silence scared the most. When Paul insulted him, he didn’t say a word. She found it a very mature behavior.
“Zayden...I know you are damn too possessive for me. So, that won’t mean that I will not be allowed to talk with other male, right?”, She asked, thinking about the outcomes of having a possessive husband.
She saw him tightening his grip on the steering.
‘Why is he getting mad? It’s not like I am going to run away somewhere with anyone, vene if I want to.’, Grace thought.
Zayden kept quiet for a while, to decide what he should do. His mind kept thinking about all the negative outcomes of this fact.
‘I know what you are doing! And guess what, I am thinking no different but we shouldn’t take all decisions of her life.’. His wolf said.
‘I know but...but what if she falls in love with any other male that is not me. What if she leaves me. No, I can’t take that risk until and unless Grace falls in love with me.’
‘And do you think by caging her in your love, she will start loving you? Everyone loves their freedom including an animal. Don’t break her heart by doing something so stupid. It's very rare that she asks something from us.’
‘In fact, it’s very rare when you talk with me.’, Zayden said and felt his wolf disappearing from his mind like he was never there before.
“Fine. You are allowed to talk with other male and whatever you want to but you have to promise to share everything with me.”, He said.
“Thank you and I promise to share everything with you.”, She said cheerfully because she really didn’t expect that from Zayden.

“You have again planned dinner for us?”, Grace asked when Zayden asked her to get ready. “Because I am not interested in having food from outside.”, She clearly rejected that idea.
“Don’t worry, sweetheart! This time, I haven’t planned anything. My wolf suggested something for you and I kind of liked his idea.”, Grace’s eyes popped out when she heard this.
“Does your w.wolf talk?”
“Yes! In my mind. We are like two souls in a single body. Generally, he never used to show his presence until you came into our life.”, Grace just listened to him not knowing how to react. “So hurry up and wear jeans instead of any dresses.”
“Okay!”

“Where are we going?”, Grace asked Zayden.
“See for yourself when we reach there.”, He replied smilingly. Grace sat on the passenger seat restlessly. She hated surprises and found them childish. After fifteen to twenty minutes, she found herself near a very large field near the forest. When Zayden parked the car, he took her hand and guided her near the field. The field was green with fresh grass. Grace looked at him in confusion.
‘Don’t tell me that monst...I mean his wolf is planning to play Tom and Jerry, where I will have to save my precious life from Tom.’, She thought.
“Just stay here for a while, I will be back in a moment.”, He said and Grace saw him disappearing behind the tree. She kept her eyes on him from the corner of her eyes. But the moment she saw her opening his clothes, her eyes widened and she quickly looked away.
‘Why is he opening his clothes? Is there any river around this place where he wants to take a bath?’, She wondered and felt a heavy breath behind her. She turned around to see who was there and the moment she did, she immediately stepped backward.
The same jet black wolf that had killed all the other wolves alone. But unlike last time, he didn’t look that scary i.e. covered with blood. She wanted to run away from there as soon as possible.
‘I knew this. I knew that he brought me here to play Tom and Jerry.’,
She took one more step away from him and heard his low dangerous growl, so she came back to her earlier position. They both kept staring at each other for a while. She again thought to take another step away from him but went against that thought after hearing ‘Grrrrhhhh’ from him.
They kept doing that for a while, that’s when a small smile appeared on her face instead of fear. Her mind said to run and she did. She ran as fast as she could in the open field but for the first time, she was not afraid. She was having fun while playing with him.
She knew that he was in pursuit of her, but she hoped that her little head would start enough to win. She risked a look back to him how far ahead she was but she couldn’t find Zayden’s wolf. Giggling, she turned back around and tried to skid to stop when she saw him standing in front of her.
‘How did he get in front of me?’
Her heart was beating rapidly from the run. She saw him approaching her. His big black paws came in the line of sight and when she looked up, his snout was nearly touching her nose.
His eyes had so many emotions swirling around in them. Grace was so dazed that she missed the amusement they held and was caught off guard when his warm wolfy tongue licked up my face.
“Ew! Gross, Zayden!”, She whined as he gave what she was assuming was the wolf version of a chuckle. His behavior was just like a dog but he was far bigger than a dog. And she loves dogs a lot.
She reached her hand out slowly for him to smell. It was a habit that she had learned from petting the dogs. Let them smell you so that they would know that you are friendly.
‘Does it work in this situation? I don’t know, but it can’t hurt.’
Zayden laid down flat on the stomach, lowering his head to just below Grace’s level. Her hand gently patted the top of his head and she heard a sound coming from him.
“Are you purring? Are you sure you are a wolf?”, She laughed a little at her own joke but Zayden didn’t respond, not that he could in this form. If he could have then she would have definitely freaked out. She traveled her hand from the top of his hand down his neck. Zayden stayed completely still while she moved to the side to better access his back.
“Now I understand why Paul was saying you are a dog.”, She mumbled and he growled a little, and judging by the deadpan look of the wolf, Zayden didn’t like that comment.
“I am sorry!”, She quickly apologized because she didn’t want him to eat her in anger. She then wondered what would happen if she scratched his belly? Would he do that leg-shaking thing?
A mischievous smile crosses her face. She always wanted to adopt a dog but since she couldn’t afford his living, she never adopted any dog but now that her husband was somewhere near to them. She didn’t want to miss any chance to experiment on him to find out the answer.
As her hand traveled lowered on his belly, Zayden’s golden eyes snapped to her and he watched her very carefully. She continued scratching lower until she was just at what was considered his belly and she scratched in the same place. Sure enough, his hind leg started to thump against the ground. She couldn’t help but laugh. When he growled, she dropped her hand down and took a few steps back in surrender.
“I am sorry”, She said, not knowing what else to say.
She then felt that Zayden was trying to say something to her. It took a moment for her to understand what he was trying to communicate.
“You want me to ride on you?”, She asked, not sure whether she guessed it right or wrong. And the moment she saw him nodding his head, her eyes widened. “Th.thank you for the offer but...but I don’t know how to ride on a wolf.”, She said with the fear of falling from it.
She had never ridden on the horse and here she was getting an offer to ride on a wolf. How dramatic!
Out of all the wishes, one of her wishes was to ride on the horse with open hair to feel the cool breeze against her face but neither she knew how to ride on it nor could afford to fulfill her wish. Just like Zayden, his wolf was not ready to give up, when he saw her off guard, he licked up her face with his long tongue and tried to convince Grace.
“Zayden…!”
His wolf kept licking her face until Grace finally gave up.
“Fine! Fine!”, She said, stopping him from licking her face. “I will ride on you, okay! God, you are impossible.”
She looked at Zayden's wolf and wondered how to climb on its back. Zayden sensed her uneasiness. He laid down on the ground again and waited patiently for her to climb on him. After a few failed attempts, she finally succeeded in sitting on his back. Though he couldn’t see her expression but still could feel her victorious smile as if she had won a battle. And he chuckled in his wolf form thinking about her smile. It always amazed him, to see how little things made her so happy!
Grace held the coat of Zayden’s wolf carefully so that he wouldn’t get hurt but her grip was strong enough to avoid her falling from it. Once she was settled, Zayden stood up and started running slowly so that she could enjoy her moment instead of scaring her with his full speed. The swift breeze hit her face like she had imagined it to be when she would have ridden on the horse.
It felt beautiful.
But the only problem was since she was riding for the first time, her legs started hurting as Zayden’s wolf ran.

After half an hour, Grace’s legs were hurting like hell. She pressed her legs with her hand so that her pain could go away. The sound of popping made her look toward the direction from which that sound came. Zayden was standing in the place of the wolf. A bare naked Zayden.
Unlike last time, she didn’t blacked out but shrieked and covered her innocent eyes with her hands. She could feel the heat rising in her cheeks. She didn’t mean to look. A little warning would have been nice! Arms wrapped securely around her waist as she was pulled firmly against his chest.
“Did you like it?”
“Yes!”
“I am glad to fulfill half of your wish. You wanted to ride on the horse. I gave you the ride on my wolf. Well, that’s because the horses will get scared of my presence near them and I can’t leave you on your own as I am afraid that you might end up hurting yourself.”, Zayden explained to which she nodded her head because she knew that he was right.
“But...but how did you know that riding a horse is my wish?”, She asked.
“I know all your wishes, sweetheart! And I am going to fulfill all of them.”, He stated.
‘But one of my wishes is to witness love! And it’s never going to happen with you. I will never be able to fall in love with you. I will never feel the romantic feelings that exists between a couple.’, She thought sadly.
