No One’s POV

Grace sunk into deep thoughts.
‘Is her mother, right? Should she really give Zayden a chance to prove himself? Should she try to make this work? But how can she be so ignorant about me? He is a criminal and a wolf as well. That's a different thing that no one knows about that fact except me.’
“Mom, don’t you love me? Aren’t you worried with the thought of leaving me alone with Zayden?”, Grace asked innocently.
Her mother’s eyes moistened in pain. “How can you say that, Grace? You are my daughter and the apple of my eye. I couldn’t sleep last night, thinking what if Zayden Staunton doesn’t keep his promise about not forcing himself on you. I knew I did all this but other than him, no one can save you from getting married to that monster.”, Her mother wailed.
“Mom”, Grace gasped when she saw her mother crying.
“And I want you to at least give a chance to this marriage because the society in which we live is very cruel. You had stayed just a night with Zayden Staunton, they started wondering whether you were virgin or not! Now, they will know that you are married to him, then they will treat you like a married woman and then...nobody will marry you again. And even if they will, then I am not sure whether another person will be good enough for you.”Her mother said and cried more. Grace wanted to stop her.
“Okay fine! I will give this marriage a chance. But please don’t cry.”, She finally said those words which her mother wanted to hear.
“Promise?
“Promise”, Grace sighed.
‘So now, I am stuck with that monster forever. And he will make me nothing but a slave who will listen to all his orders. Well, I can do it when my own mom pushes me into this hell and dad doesn't want to help me to get out of this insanity then how can I expect others to help me? The only option I have is to accept my fate.’
“By the way, leave all this. Tell me, how will dad manage the expenses now? Does he talk about that with you?”, Grace asked, changing the topic.
“I don’t know anything about it yet. He has not shared any plans with me.”
“And he will not share anything with me as well….I don’t even understand why he doesn’t trust his own daughter?”
“Don’t worry, he will get normal with time.!”, Her mother assured.
“Hope so!”
“Did..did you tell the truth behind these marks to Zayden?”, Her mother asked, pointing toward the faded hickey on her neck.
Grace shook her head. “No”
“You should, Grace. Any relationship starts with trust and faith and you should be faithful to Zayden Staunton.”, Her mother said.
Grace scoffed and rolled her eyes. ‘Faithful! Nonsense!’, She thought.
“Why are you calling his full name? Call him ‘Zayden’, Mom.”, Grace suggested.
“It will take some time and then I will get used to it.”
“Even I don’t know when I will get used to this life.”, Grace muttered, more like she was talking to herself.
“Everything will be alright. Have faith in god!”, Her mother said to which she nodded. “Here, your mobile.”, She added, giving it to Grace. “It was with your father since the moment he came to know about your night out with Zayden Staunton. Now, that he doesn’t need to keep this mobile with him, so…”, Her mother didn’t complete the sentence because she didn’t feel it was required.
Grace simply nodded and took her mobile from her mother’s hand.
“It has been switched off since then.”, Her mother said.
“I will charge it later.”

After breakfast, Grace’s parents started to leave. When they were almost out of the door, Grace’s father stopped and turned toward Grace to face her. He approached her and before she could realize what her father was going to do. She was in his arms.
“I am sorry, Grace. I am sorry for not trusting you.”, Her father apologized. Grace couldn’t help herself from crying in his arms. Blake came toward her and hugged her too. “Take care of my daughter.”, Her father said to Zayden, caressing her hair. Zayden smiled politely and nodded his head.
After a while, Grace watched her family inside one of Zayden’s cars. She watched the car till it receded like a small child. She turned around and found Zayden staring at her intensely. She quickly averted her gaze
“You can have some rest till lunch time. I will let you know after ordering lunch.”, He said and started picking the used plates from the dining tables.
“And what..what are you going to do with these plates?”
“Nothing as of now! I will have to hire an omega to do these things.”, He answered calmly, making her raise her brow.
‘Omega?’
“A low rank werewolf.”, He answered my unasked question.
‘No way! One monster is enough. I can’t stay with two monsters at the same time. At least, not now. I need time to adjust’, She thought and quickly came beside him and took the plates from his hand.
“I will do it. No need to hire any Omega.”, She said politely.
“But why? I want to treat you like a queen, not like a maid.”, Zayden said and frowned.
“And who said that doing the household chores at home is the job of a maid?”, Grace asked in a challenging tone and mentally slapped herself by talking with Zayden in this tone. She placed the plates in the sink and started cleaning the plates to avoid any communication with him.
They both didn’t say anything for a while until Zayden too started washing the plates.
“What..what are you doing?”
“Helping my wife in her household chores!”, He answered, making her remember what her mother said.
‘Mom was right! I should give him at least a chance.’, She thought. Suddenly their hands touched accidentally, and Grace blushed furiously by taking a step away from him but Zayden being Zayden pulled her back.
‘Moon Goddess, everything is going so perfect. Please let the situation be like this only.’, Zayden thought but little did he or Grace know that a few unread messages were waiting for them on WhatsApp, which was going to change their lives upside down.
