No One’s POV

Zayden let go of his hand from her arm, and gripped her wrist, instead. Grace protested what he was doing. But he didn’t pay any heed. He started pulling her out of the room.
“Zayden, at least please listen to me!”, She cried.
“I have had enough already! You don’t want to stay with me right? So I am just opening the way from where you can leave this MARRIAGE and ME forever.”, He said.
“Please...why are you doing this? I don’t want to leave.”, She said, when he continued to drag her toward the main door of the house.
“You love someone else right! So, I am dropping you at his house. You can stay there. If not me then at least YOU will be happy! He said and took a sharp turn and dragged her down the stairs.
“I DON’T LOVE ANYONE.”, Grace shouted, as they reached the bottom of the stairs. She wanted to say it for a while. Better say now than never.
Zayden turned around suddenly.
“Really Grace? Now you are lying to me?
“I...I am not lying. At least not this time.”
Zayden’s wolf sensed that Grace was speaking the truth but his mind was not ready to accept it. Not after seeing those pictures. “You are still lying, Grace. I won’t fall into lies now. Not anymore! Why aren’t you accepting your love for him, when I am giving you the chance. If you are afraid that I will kill you or your lover then you are wrong. I won’t kill either you or him. If you are happy with him, then I will not take your happiness away from you again. I was alone before I met you, and I can still live alone.”, Zayden said and started dragging her out of the house again. But he was not sure of his own wo1rds.
Could he really live without her?
“Please listen to me first then you can throw me out of the house if you want.”, Grace cried. It did hurt Zayden, but he still didn’t stop. He decided not to be selfish AGAIN.
“Zayden!”, Grace gasped when Zayden pushed her out of the house, harshly. She looked at him desperately. It wasn’t the pain of getting thrown out of the house that hurt her. But also the fact that her husband was not trusting her who claimed to love her that was hurting her the most.
“Eric, drop her to wherever she wants.”, Zayden ordered his beta.
“Yes Alpha!”, He replied instantly, so that Grace wouldn’t be facing the anger of his Alpha.
“Zayden, please listen to me. Y.you are misunderstanding me!!”, Grace begged and with a heavy heart, Zayden was about to close the door when she knowingly kept her hand in between to stop the door from getting closed for real. ‘He has to listen to me. He just can’t enter my life forcefully and then threw me out of his life forcefully.’, She had thought before hurting herself. “Aaaaahhhhhh”
“Moon Goddess, Grace!”, Zayden shouted and looked at her soft and small hand.
“Alpha, I will get her hand treated by the local doctor in the town.”, Eric said, adding the spice in the atmosphere. “Luna, shall we?”, He asked, knowing that Zayden would never let her go!
Before Zayden would have snapped at her, Grace answered politely. “No! I am not going anywhere….. You can go!”,
Zayden left her hand, after observing that she was not hurt much. “You should listen to Eric and leave, Grace.”
‘Why can’t he listen to me! He is my husband. He should trust me at least. But I won’t let him believe that nonsense. I will tell him the truth, whether he trusts me or not. After that I will leave in peace if he still doesn’t trust me!’, She thought.
“And you should listen to me if you love me.”, Grace said and unknowingly threw the trump card, making Zayden shut his mouth. He loved her more than anything.
It hurt him to see her beg for him like this.
‘But why was she not leaving? Why was she still begging him to listen to her?’ He asked his wolf but he didn’t answer him just like always. He hid somewhere in his mind. His heart told him that maybe she wanted him not someone else but then his brain denied that possibility. He hated himself for doing this to her.
“You had once said that you can sense my emotions which includes my lies then trust me, I..I don’t love anyone apart from my family. Whatever you saw was nothing but a misunderstanding. That guy with whom I was going to marry was in that picture and he had kissed me forcefully...I didn’t do anything wrong in that. I have never lied to you about my boyfriend, Zayden. I have accepted you as my husband. And I also know that I don't love you...but I am trying to make this marriage word. Please trust me...please don’t spoil everything because of nothing. No men were in my life before and no men will be there in my life after my marriage because I will never cheat on my husband whom I meant to be with, Zayden.”, Grace cried, after finishing her little speech in one go.
The realization hit him like a storm when he realized how wrong he was and what exactly happened with Grace. He could sense that she was telling the truth and also about the fact that he was misunderstanding her. She had already gone through so much and just like others even he treated her like shit.
Zayden cupped her face and wiped the tears which were continuously rolling out of her eyes. Grace looked at him in shock as she didn’t expect him to behave like this at all. She looked at him with still blurry vision.
“Zayden!”, She whispered in disbelief.
Zayden instantly hugged her dearly, as if his life depended on it.
“I am so sorry, sweetheart! I am sorry…”, He whispered in her ear. Grace cried more as he comforted her.
“I am not lying this time. Trust me.”
“I know...hell, I know sweetheart. I am so sorry”, He said and his voice itself became shaky. Eric started at Zayden in utter shock. After all, he was witnessing a moment, which was too rare to be true. His ruthless and emotionless Alpha had tears in his eyes. And it was just a coincidence when Zayden’s eyes landed on him when he was about to say something to Grace. “What the fuck are you doing here now?”, He roared at him.
Eric smiled naughtily and quickly mumbled “Sorry”, before running away from there, not because he was afraid. Well, that’s because he had brilliant news to share with everyone!
“Everyone is so scared of you!”, Grace said with a shaky voice when she saw Eric running away.
“And I am scared of your glare.”, Zayden confessed and pulled Grace inside the house. Zayden scooped her in his arms on which Grace was startled for a while.
“I...I can walk.”, She said. Zayden chuckled and held her more firmly.
“Let me make it up to you.”, He smiled.
“But…”, She tried to deny again but Zayden hushed her.
“Did I ever listen to you, sweetheart?”m He asked, raising his brow to which Grace stopped denying him because if Zayden had already decided then there was anyone who could stop him from doing whatever he had decided.
“I am sorry, sweetheart. My possessiveness got the best of me.”, Zayden apologized. He believed in admitting the mistake and correcting the mistake rather than just sitting quietly and doing nothing.
“I don’t love anyone except my family.”, Grace repeated.
“I know. I am really very sorry. I promise I won’t behave like this again. When I saw those pictures it was hard to believe the truth.”
“That day we were sent to my room so that we could talk in private but instead of asking decent questions..he as.asked….whether I was virgin or not!”, Grace sobbed recalling those memories. “And then he tried to kiss me without my permission.”, She finally finished her sentence and met Zayden's eyes. He started climbing the stairs.
“I can understand when my own father didn’t trust me then I can’t expect that from you too. But...at least you should have trusted me.”, Grace added in a low tone.
Zayden looked down at her and paused. Could he really trust her? After all that has happened in his past, could he really trust anyone? He never trusted anyone so that he would not face the pain of betrayal again. But looking at his innocent wife, whom he loved more than his own life, he didn’t have to think twice about trusting her. He will trust her, even if she betrays him.
“Wh.what do you started thinking?”, Grace asked nervously, when she realized he stopped in his tracks.
Zayden shook his head and started climbing again. He reached their room and very gently laid on the bed. “I...I am really sorry, sweetheart! Can you please forgive me? I will do anything to get your forgiveness.”, he said desperately.
“Y.you broke my phone.”, Grace said after thinking for a while.
Zayden instantly held her hand and pressed them lightly, as assurance. “I will buy you a new one today. I promise. Anything else you want?”
“Trust, respect and equality.”, She said instantly even though she knew trust is earned but at least she could least expect a penny of trust on her husband. Zayden raised his brows in wonder. Out of all the things she could ask for, she asked for trust, respect, and equality! Oh, how much he fell in love with her more now.
Instead of reply instantly, his mind wandered over what she told him earlier and what she asked him now.
‘You should have trusted me.’
‘Could he really trust her? What if she left him just like others then...then he would be alone again. What if she left him as his mother did? What if she betrayed him like his brother. What if she hurt him just like his father? What if…
But he didn’t really care about that now. Because he knew that even if she didn’t love him back, she wanted to stay with him and was faithful to him. In some corner of his heart, he knew that she wouldn’t hurt him, even after whatever he had done to her. He believed her and trusted her.
He sighed in happiness when he realized his faith in her. “I will.”, He said and kissed her forehead. Grace couldn’t help herself from smiling. It felt great to realize that her husband, even if she didn’t love him, trusted her.
