Grace was having a great time with her family but one thing was constantly ringing in her mind.
‘How will her father handle all financial issues of the family when he himself is a patient?’
She tried to talk with her father about it but her father changed the topic, every time he brought it up. She thought to talk with her mother about it later. Along with that, she could feel that her sisters wanted to talk with her and by observing the expression on their faces, they looked worried.
Well, why wouldn’t they?
Grace didn’t get a chance to talk about the sudden change in her life with them. After all, everything happened so suddenly that no one had an idea that her life would take such a turning point. In the afternoon, finally, Grace and her sister got some time to spend together. They went straight into their room.
“Did he hurt you?”, Gia asked bluntly the moment they entered their room.
“Gia….”, Gina shushed her and looked at her elder sister. “Does he treat you well, Grace?”
Grace sat on the bed and tapped on both sides of the bed indicating her sisters to sit there. Once they sat, she answered, “No, he doesn’t hurt me, Gia and yes, he treats me well, Gina. He…”
“He?”
“He is just weird.”, She said and a smile appeared on her lips. It wasn’t a confused smile but a genuine smile.
‘Is she going to tell us that he is a werewolf?’, Gia thought.
‘But we can’t tell her the truth until and unless she comes to know the truth behind her birth.’, Gina thought, recalling what her mate had told her.
“Weird?”, Gia asked, not getting what she was trying to say.
“Hmm”, She hummed. “Everything about him is not normal. But this ‘weirdness’ is different. He is different from everyone. I have never seen or met with anyone like him before.” Now both the sisters were sure that Grace was going to share Zayden’s secret with them, that's a different thing that their noise had already smelt who he was.
“Different in the sense?”
“Different in the sense...He is perfect. Everything about him is perfect. Sometimes I feel a bit clumsy in front of him while he is too mature in front of me. He talks so less that he can even break my record on that. But when we are alone, no one can break his recording of talking and flirting. I hated him before but I don’t think he is that bad. Even though I have been with him for two days, I know he cares for me and won’t hurt me. And do you know the best part? He knows what I want and what makes me happy. He is a good observant I guess that’s why he always knows before me what I actually want. For a while, I thought he was like Edward of twilight who had the power to read people’s mind.”, She finished and both Gia and Gina gasped.
“Don’t tell me you are in love with that dog..I mean bastard!!”, Gia said instantly.
“That’s not the way to talk about Zayden, Gia.”, Grace lightly scolded her. She was younger than her. So, in that way, she was way younger than Zayden and that’s not the proper way to speak about elders. “And no! I am not in love with him.”, She answered because she was hundred percent sure that no one falls in love in just two days!
“The way you were parsing him, made us think that you actually love him.”, Gina said, calmly just the way Grace had the habit of talking with others.
“Stupid. I am praising him because he is worth it. Maybe that is true or not but in these two days, I have observed that he has most of the good qualities except…”
“Except?”
“His anger issue. He is damn too bad in controlling his temper.”
“Did he…”, Gia was about to ask her, whether he even hurt her in anger but she had heard that werewolves sometimes hurt their own mate in anger but Grace instantly replied.
“No! I never became the victim of his anger. He always try to be patient with me.”, Grace lied because she didn’t want to disclose their issues with her sisters. She didn’t want them to worry. Moreover, Zayden had promised that he would try to control his anger and she knew that changes don't happen in a day.
“Do you really think that he loves you, Grace?”, Gina asked patiently. She came to know from her mate that Grace was not Zayden’s fated mate and his fated mate was still alive. So what could be the reason because of which his wolf claimed her as his chosen mate? As far as she knew wolves are damn too loyal toward their mate even the human part of the werewolf is a complete jerk.
“If you are asking my opinion then I would say YES. He loves me. His every gesture is loving.”, Grace said and was about to continue saying something else when her mobile rang. She reached for her handbag and dig her hand inside it.
“Ohhhooo...Iphone”, Both her sisters teased her.
“Umm..he..he gave me this phone as a gift.”, She again lied a little but she didn’t want to disclose that he gave this mobile because had broken her previous one. She turned the phone to see the screen. The name that appeared on the screen had made her chuckle. It read. ‘My sweetheart’.
She knew it was Zayden’s work. He had saved his number in her contact list by this name. Swiping the screen, she brought the phone close to her ears and gestured to her sisters to be quiet.
“Hello.”, She said.
“Hi sweetheart, what are you doing?”
“Nothing. Just spending time with my sisters.”
“Won’t you ask what am I doing?”, he asked.
“Sorry.”, Grace mumbled immediately. “What are you doing?”
“I am thinking about you.”, as usual, Zayden replied bluntly. Grace bit her lips tightly to stop herself from smiling. “By the way, the cake you made for your mother is about to reach there, you had forgotten it at our home.”
“Thank you.”
“All right then, enjoy your time with your family. I will keep buying you for a few minutes every two hours.”
“But..But why?”, Grace asked innocently.
“Because I miss you so much.”, He said and kissed from the other side of the phone, making her eyes go wide. “Bye, sweetheart.”
When Grace looked at her sisters, she already knew that her sisters heard some part of their conversation or the last part of the conversation. She lowered her eyes because of embarrassment and swore to kill Zayden for doing this to her in front of her family.

The cake that she baked in the morning got delivered by Theo. She instantly opened the box in the living room and revealed it to her family. Her mother, father, brother, sisters, and her mates stood close to the table on which she had placed the box. While her father, brother, and mother were excited to taste it, her sisters and her mates were showing their fake excitement to eat it because they knew they couldn't.
That was also one of the reasons her sisters rarely visited her parent’s house.
She opened the box with a happy expression without glancing inside. Her brother, who loved eating the food cooked by Grace stopped cheering immediately. Grace frowned and looked down. She was sure that she had made an excellent cake for her mother.
‘Did something happen to the cream on the cake?’, she wondered.
“Grace, how can we use this cake for mom’s cake cutting ceremony? You already ate half of the cake.”, He said.
It was true. Half of the cake was gone. But where? Who could be such a hungry animal to eat it without her consent? Then it rang in her head.
‘Zayden.’, She mouthed.
She knew he ate the cake. She was aware of his love for cake. She had seen him eyeing the cake when she was preparing it. And his childish behavior made her smile.
“That’s bad manners, Grace. You made my favorite cake and ate it before my birthday.”, Her mother complained and pouted.
“Yes, You should first serve others rather than eating it first yourself!”, Her father reminded her. She gasped at her parents before speaking.
“Mom! Dad Have some faith in your daughter. This is not my work. You dear son did this.”, She said sarcastically.
“Oh, that’s so sweet of him!”, her mother’s tone changed immediately. Grace gasped at her mother’s behavior again.
‘She scolded me for eating the cake, even when I didn’t even eat it and now she was praising Zayden when he actually was the real culprit. Wow! Just wow!’, She thought but kept quiet.
