No One’s POV

“You meant that, right?”, He asked again, while he straightened himself to look at her properly where she accepted it again by saying yes. Grace opened her eyes and looked at those golden eyes again, which mesmerized her. His eyes held so much happiness and lust that she couldn’t look at them anymore.
‘It’s been more than a week, I should be able to face his lust filled eyes by now. But still, I feel shy and nervous. Everytime he looked at me with those eyes, I would like to hide six feet under the ground.’, She thought.
All the boldness and insanity she had was gone by now. She instantly stood up and rushed away from his grasp.
“I have to prepare dinner.”, She said and rushed out of the room.
“Grace!”, he called behind her. He spelled a low curse when she didn’t stop. He felt lonely now, as he missed the moment they were having. But, then suddenly he recalled what she had said to Gia.
‘If you always wished your husband to be an amazing cook, then I will give it a try, sweetheart. At least, I can do something for you.’

“Oh my god, what are you doing?”, Grace gasped when she saw Zayden in the kitchen, trying to cut all the vegetables which were in the refrigerator.
“I thought to help you.”, He said smilingly. “You were in the washroom, so till that time, I thought to cut all the vegetables.”
“All?”, Grace gasped.
“Yes”, he replied happily. Grace wanted to cry after seeing the size of the vegetables. They were not finely chopped but instead were cut from the half and in different shapes and sizes.
“That’s so sweet of you, Zayden.”, She said politely, trying to take the knife from his hand. “But you don’t have to do so much work.”, She added after taking the knife. “I know you might have some pending work to do in your office so let me prepare the dinner and until then you can leave to complete your unfinished work.”
“But...I want to help you.”
“Og trust me. That will be more than helpful to me. You...in the kitchen, is definitely not a help.”, Grace said smilingly, trying to push Zayden away from the kitchen.
“Let me stay here. I want to learn how to cook so that someday I can prepare a whole course for you.”, Zayden blurted as usual. Grace stopped pushing him away and looked into his eyes. She could clearly see the truth in them and could feel his love for her.
“You thought about it...that alone is enough for me.”, she replied honestly. What more could a wife want from her husband than a truthful promise. Zayden kissed her cheek in approval.
“I am so lucky to have you.” He said.

“So, how was your day?”, Zayden asked while having dinner.
“Nothing special. I got horribly bored today. I randomly roamed here and there.” she confessed. For once, she thought of going out and taking a walk in the woods nearby but then thought against it.
‘What if some wild animal comes and eat me alive?’, was her thought which made her think against the idea of taking a walk in the woods.
“Why didn’t you go out for a walk? My men would have followed you. I have given instructions on that.”
“Why would you do that? I mean, surely they have much better things to do than follow me around.”
“You are my first priority, sweetheart. You are their responsibility too.”
“Okay, next time, I will go out for a walk.”, She said. ‘But without your men following me.’, She thought. Surely she didn’t want babysitters.
After that, they had a smooth conversation about other things. And she was amazed by how safe and normal she felt with him. Apart from his flirting comments, he was very nice to be around. But she didn’t know that it was only her who got this special treatment. It was only her who got the opportunity to see this calm side of his.
Even after dinner, he didn’t leave her alone in the kitchen and helped her in finishing her pending kitchen work.
“You are already loaded with your work, still you are here, wasting your time in my works.”, Grace said.
“Why, you don’t want me here?”, He mocked.
“No, it’s not like that.”, she quickly replied.
“Then does that mean that you want me here?”, He teased her again. Grace fake glared at him and he raised his hand in surrender.
“Why do you always tangle me in my own words?”, She complained with a pout.
Zayden chuckled and kissed her cheek. “Because you look too innocent like that.”, He stated and leaned toward her neck to kiss and lick it. Grace didn’t complain because she had been habitual to it.
After a few seconds, she asked him another question to prolong the conversation.
“Zayden?”, She called him, checking whether he was listening or not.
“Hmm?”
“Can I ask you something?”
“Anything.”
“Why did you choose me as your mate when the Moon goddess had already sent your fated mate for you?”, She asked.
“And who says that goddess doesn’t make mistakes?”, He asked in return. “She was never the right person to be my mate but you are.”, He added.
“But...but how can you say so? I mean...I was just playing and feeding the dogs that day you saw me.”
“I asked this question to myself too. Why and what made me so desperate at that time? I lost all my senses when I saw you. It’s just impossible for someone to feel like this, right?”, He asked her.
“I don’t know what to say?”, She confessed. How could she feel like him, when she hadn’t loved anyone in her life, apart from her family.
“Maybe, when you will fall in love with me, then you will understand my feelings.”, He said.
“I am not heartless, Zayden. I do feel your feelings and I really respect it.”, she defended herself because she felt he was accusing her.
“If that’s so then why are you still not ready for getting marked by my wolf?”, He asked her bluntly.
She lowered her head again, while she finished cleaning the last dish. He was right, she knew it.
“When I will fall in love with you. I will let your wolf mark me. I promise.”, She said boldly. She didn’t know where this courage came from. But she wanted to assure him...she wanted to assure herself!
“Then I guess, I need another life for that because I don't think you will fall in love with me in this life!”, he said with a chuckle but he meant every word of it. She was about to deny this fact when she saw Zayden looking at the door in anger.
‘MATE. SHE IS HERE.’, Zayden’s wolf said in disgust.
We walked toward the door, trying to control the anger which was bubbling inside him like lava.
Grace didn’t stop him because she had guessed that someone might be on the door and his wolf would have sensed it but her mind got stuck in his words.
‘Can’t I really not fall in love with him? Is he that bad? No, he can’t be. He is so good to me! But he is a criminal in the human world and everybody knows it. He murdered John and Jame’s father for god sake! Yes, he is right. I can never love someone like him. NEVER!’
The moment he opened the door, Allison jumped in his arms and shouted loudly. “Surpriseeeee, Brother.”
Zayden securely held Allision in his arms but his eyes were still on the woman who came with her.
