Eric's POV
I looked everywhere but I didn't see anyone. Maybe she saw a shadow of something. Thinking this, I started going back to my study room. But then suddenly the sound of something falling falls on my ears and I start looking around with alertness. But again there is a silence all around as if no sound has come. I again make my way back to the study room. But this time a man's voice falls on my ears, on hearing which I stop my feet. And this sound is not coming from anywhere else but from the storeroom. That's one place I haven't checked yet. I
I didn't want to warn the thieves. That's why I started moving slowly towards the storeroom. And I tried to peek inside by opening a little part of the door. But I didn't see anyone there.
I opened the door and thought of searching the whole room at once. Since the room was very dark, I started looking for the light switch. Old items were kept all around and cupboards too. Because of which I was having some trouble finding the switch. But then all of a sudden I hear some sound and when I look back, I see the voice coming from the cupboard. I cautiously walk towards the cupboard.
I am about to open the cupboard by holding the handle when I hear a loud voice of Angela coming from behind.
"Erish!! There is someone behind you!!! get out of there!!! " She shouted in a scared voice.
Suddenly hearing Angela's voice I try to turn back but just then a sharp statue appears close to my face, which I stop by holding it with both hands. If there was a moment's delay, it would have hit me.
The statue was held by a man who was very fit and his face was covered with a black cloth. Even after holding the statue from my hands, he tries to hit me with his one leg full force but I push him with full pressure.
"Erish!!"
She tries to run towards me but I ask her to stay there. If she comes here then maybe they take advantage of her and hit me.
And looking at the man it was clear that he was not a simple or common thief. He just looks like a bloodthirsty thief who can do anything for money. And even by mistake, I could not put Angela's life in danger.
"Angela!! you go away!! I can handle him!!" I shouted at her in a serious tone.
"But Erish!! I'm not going to leave you like this!!" She started crying.
"Angela, just trust me and go!!" I tried to convince her but then someone pushed me from behind and I fell straight to the ground.
"Erish!!" Angela sobbed.
The guy pushing me from behind is the other guy who's been hiding in the cupboard for a long time. But when he saw that his first man had fallen, he tried to push me from behind.
Angela gets more nervous when she sees the other man and tries to get closer to me, but I yell back at her and instruct her to stay there.
I get up from the back and start attacking the second man, but at the same time, the first man gets up and starts walking towards Angela, leaving me.
Angela is walking backward scarcely and I saw this which made me more furious and next second I just punched the second man and then went to grab the first man's neck in anger.
The man is trying to free his neck from my hands but with each second my grips get stronger. He started to panic with my strength which is not losing at all. And the next second I stared at Angela.
"Angela, you go away !! I can handle them!"
"But Erish!!!" She hesitates.
"I said go..!!! If you were here, I would not be able to handle these two!!!" I yelled at her in seriousness.
Finally, she understood my words and just went out of there.
But as soon as she leaves, another man hits me on the head with a stick, and Immediately my grip is released from the neck of the first man and I fall to the ground with a shudder.
I hold my head back with my hands and slowly my visions start to blur.
Slowly darkness begins to descend before my eyes when Angela's voice falls in my ears.
"Erish!!Erish!!"
I try to open my eyes slowly and when I open my eyes a little and look in front, Angela is not alone, John and the police are also standing with her.
Seeing this, I take relief. I had already told her in the study room to call John so that he could bring the police home immediately.
Police catch both criminals in front of me and Angela comes running towards me and puts my head on her lap.
"Erish!! Are you alright???? Tears were flowing from her eyes non-stop. She was so frightened to see me like this.
But I said, wiping her tears with one hand and giving a slight smile at the same time
"Nothing can ever happen to me while you are close to me." Hearing this her eyes became soft.
"Sir, are you okay??" John also came and asked me in a worried tone.
I nodded my head slowly but a scream came out of my mouth because of the pain.
"Erish! "
"What happened??" Angela asked worriedly.
"Nothing happens, one of them just hit me on the head," I said calmly because I don't want her to be more distressed.
"What??? "
"John, call the doctor!!! " She ordered him and he immediately called the doctor.

"There is nothing to be worried about! The injury is small. Mr.Brooks is healthy and He will be fine after resting a few days at home." When the doctor said those words then she sighed in relief.
"Thank you, doctor! " she smiled.
The doctor left and then John and the police officer came into the room.
"Hello Mr.Brooks! " a police officer politely said and I nodded without any expression.
"Mr.Brooks, We apologize to you for whatever happened today. Both those men are very big criminals who had fled from the police station only last night. The entire police team was looking for them. Today because of you both of them have been caught. Now there is nothing to be worried about and we're apologizing to you once again. I hope you understand our situation." He explained in an awkward tone But my anger did not subside when he said this. Because of their carelessness, my Angela's life could have been in danger.
"Officer…! " my voice was heavy which made them shudder in their place. They know I can shut their police station if I want to. There is nothing impossible for me.
But before I could scold them or utter any words, Angela said, interrupting us "No, officer, you don't have to apologize to us, we can understand your situation. so, you don't need to explain anything.
I know she wanted to help them, so I didn't say anything.
" Okay, thank you, Mrs.Brooks! Now we are going then, he said to Angela because of her he is now saved from me.
She happily nodded to him and without delaying he just left with John.
