Angela's POV
"Mom, how are you?" I hugged her and asked. After shifting to the old house, she has come home today after a long time and I am very happy to see her.
"I'm good, what about my beautiful daughter?" She patted my back and asked me warmly which made me smile.
"Let's sit, then talk! You must be tired from the long drive." We both came to the living room and sat down on the sofa.
"Mom, How is dad and his health?" I asked.
"My old man is good and busy with his work," She said jokingly which made me laugh.
"Great to hear it!" I said with a laugh.
"Madam, where do I keep it?" Suddenly mom's driver came to the living area with some big boxes in his hand and asked her.
"You put them here on the table," She gently said and he went back from there putting all the boxes on the table.
Seeing the boxes, I got a little confused and asked her, " Mom, What's in these boxes?"
I'm really curious to know about it.
"Ohh dear, there is nothing too much. I had prepared some dishes of your and Erish's choice, so I have brought them with me," She explained to me.
"Mom, Why did you need to do all this??? You would have told me! And even if you did! I would have gone to an old mansion!!" I became really upset to see her do so much work at her age.
"Silly Girl!!"
"Can't I do this much for my kids?? I just want to make some favorite foods for both of you. And don't tell me, this is work. Silly!! This is my love for both of you." She slapped my forehead lightly and I again smiled brightly to hear her words.
"Thanks, Mom!!" I said warmly.
"You don't need to say thanks to your mom, understand!!" She said, showing a fake angry face.
I laughed and nodded.
"Madam, Your phone was ringing so I brought it." One of the maids came with a phone and told me.
I took the phone from her hands and checked it.
The phone call came from the office.
"Mom, I need to attend this call," I asked her with an awkward face.
"No worries, Go and attend it " She gently smiled and I stood up from my seat and went to the balcony.
"Hello!" I dialed the office number.
"Hello, Mam! It's me Jassy!" She is one of my subordinates in the office. She is a brilliant girl. In my absence, she handles all the things properly. Because of her, I can live in peace these days. After marriage, I always worked from home and she's the one who handles all the outside things.
"Yes, Jassy! What's the matter? " If she's calling me, the matter is important. I know that.
"Mam, J.K. Company sent the invitation for tonight's welcome party." She responded.
"J.K. Company?? I asked confusingly.
"Yes Mam, J.K.Company. This is one of the top international companies. They are a popular international market and now this company is trying to open their branch in our domestic city. That's why they are holding a welcome party and inviting each popular and big company. This is our advantage to meet them and hold our hands." She explained to me all the details.
"Okay, I will attend this party," I replied to her.
"Mam, you need a partner to attend this party." She said, with a teasing voice.
"Okay then! But in any case, I couldn't make it in time. Just attend this party with Mr. Den." I need to ask Erish before giving her an answer. That's why I made a back-up plan, if any way, I couldn't attend the party.
"Yes, Mam! " She answered brightly. I know she loves to attend this party with Mr. Den. Because She likes him.
"Good!" After saying that, I disconnected the phone and went back to the living room.
"Mom, I'm sorry for making you waiting," I apologized.
"Angela, No more sorry or I'll become angry with you!! " She said, pouting her face and I smiled lightly seeing her childish reaction.
"Okay, Mom! Don't be angry !" I said in a sweet tone.
"Good, you need to be sorry Angela! I know after marriage you are handling many things on your own. And you are also a successful businesswoman. You need to see your office work also. I can understand. But don't make yourself work more," She said in a gentle tone, looking at me lovingly which made my heart warmer.
"Mom, I'm really lucky to have you as my mother-in-law!" I held her hand and said in a soft tone.
"And me too!! Have you as my daughter!!" She smiled warmly at me.
"Well, you ended the talk too soon! I thought it would take you a long time to talk about the office," She said with a chuckle.
"No mom!! My subordinate called me just to inform me about today's party which is held by J.K. Company, "I told her.
" J.K.Company?? I think I heard this name from your dad's mouth!" She said with a dazed look.
"It's normal to hear that name. It's a big International company. I think they also invited dad." I just answered.
"Yeah! Now I remembered it!! Last night your dad got an invitation to a party. I think that company is J.K. ! " She said.
"Wow! That's great. If I go there,I can meet dad!" My face lit up to think that and I just told her with a wide smile.
"No dear! He is not going." She responded.
"But this is a big opportunity, why didn't dad want to go??" I'm confused.
"Silly!! He's not going but he told Erish to go in his place because now he is the one who is handling everything." She replied with a laugh.
"But he didn't tell me about it ??" I just blurted out without realizing anything.
In my heart, I felt upset and mom also could see this thing. I don't want to show this face to her but I could not control my emotion that he didn't tell me about the party or asked me to go with him!
"Ohh dear, Don't be upset! Every husband is like this. He doesn't say anything in the beginning and will ask you to get ready at the last minute. Erish's father is also like this!! Every time he used to tell me about the party at the last minute and I had to get ready immediately and go with him. Because of this, there used to be a lot of quarrels between the two of us. And I used to scold him a lot. But finally, he understood my point and now he informs me in advance." She laughingly told me about it.
"Sorry, Angela, My son has also gone to his father." She said with an apologizing tone which made me embarrassed.
" No mom!! I understand!! You don't need to apologize!!" After hearing her story, my heart becomes peaceful. That it's normal.
"Now don't worry, he will call you in the evening." She said with a warm smile which made me smile.
