“You keep your distance,” I began, my eyes staring at the thick carpet covering the floor of this room when Sean breathed heavily.
“Why are you doing this???” he asked which made me look at him with a look of disbelief he’s still blaming me, damn Thanos and his infinity gauntlet.
“Am I the only one to blame for this pregnancy? You’re selfish, Sean, this pregnancy happened not only because of me but also because of you!!”
I’m angry and sad at the same time, can’t he see this as something we do together?? Wasn’t it someone’s fault?? We stared at each other in silence, his jaw clenched as he let out a sharp breath.
“Can’t you be open minded??”
“Open?? Look at me, Ariana, do I deserve to be a father figure?? Will the child accept a father like me??”
I was taken aback by the question, I understand now, that attitude again. I chuckled and then snorted. My Inner Goddess’s vibranium shield felt like it was hit by a big club, causing a loud thud and the vibrations spread throughout my nerves.
“Until when are you going to use that as a shield to always deny life, Sean? We’ll do this together, I promise you, but if you act like this it means you don’t want to do it and you intend to....”
Unlucky! The thought of Sean leaving me and our child was like a flaming arrow that was shot right at my heart, I twisted my fingers down while looking down, the sadness gathered in my throat like a goiter that grew rapidly and tears gathered in my eyelids in no time, I finally cried. I wiped my tears quickly, Sean came over to me then hugged me, kissed the top of my head and inhaled the scent of my hair, he rested his chin on the top of my head.
“I’m just afraid to disappoint you both,” he said to which I shook my head, no! He couldn’t think like that anymore. I know and believe he will be the pride of our children in the future, because I am proud of him, because we love him, I love him.
“We love you,” I say after struggling to hold back tears, he stretches his arms so I can look at him.
“We all love you, mom, dad, my mom, Rani, me and our son, you are special, Sean, you deserve to be loved, you deserve all the goodness and love on this earth.”
I looked at him with my reassuring gaze, I loved him with all the flaws and advantages he had, they were all mine. His golden net was glowing, I knew my words had an effect on him, I could see the hope there, hiding his shy face behind his lack of confidence and doubt. Then he let out a long sigh curling his lips inward for a few seconds.
“I don’t know what it would be like if you weren’t the one I married.”
I smiled then shook my head, Sean smirked then kissed my forehead a little longer, I could feel the love he had for me was so great and it made me not stop smiling. Sean’s office door opened revealing Rena’s surprised figure, the woman immediately said her apology then closed the door again.
“Who’s she??” without further ado, my brow furrowed deeply, I wanted an explanation. My Inner Goddess lowered her shield and breathed a sigh of relief she immediately threw herself on the sofa, her armor still attached to her body.
“She’s my cousin, mom’s niece, her name is Renata, she’s here to apply for a university.”
I nodded, but something felt odd that the woman had a casual attitude, like she had entered without knocking on the door.
“She’s not polite,” I commented with a sullen face, I looked at Sean with a displeased look he smiled and it warmed my heart.
“Well, she’s an unstable teenager.”
“The unstable teenager who seems to be interested in you,” I continued quickly in a desperate tone, isn’t there a single woman in this world when faced with my husband she is not interested?? Sean gave me a deep kiss on the cheek, causing a smacking sound.
“It’s just you, Ariana, and now there’s him too,” he said then put one of his hands on the surface of my stomach that still looks flat, my face flushed and I melted inside myself, yes! He admits it! My Inner Goddess immediately transformed into a cheerleader, wearing a tight short-sleeved t-shirt that only reached below her breasts with a super short miniskirt, then she did a somersault in the air gracefully and landed with her arms stretched out, a smile advertising toothpaste looks on his face.
We immediately went out to meet Renata, Sean said the woman would be back in Mexico tomorrow. Renata of mixed latin blood, she smiled very wide when she saw us acting like children. He hugged me a little tight then put his hands on the side of my face.
“Sister-in-law is very beautiful, it’s not surprising that Sean fell in love,” she said, she pinched my cheeks in exasperation, it hurt a little, and I grimaced and then she apologized with her adorable expression, I think I like Renata, she doesn’t look like a woman who would mess up my relationship with my husband. Sean wrapped his arms around my waist and kissed the top of my head.
“Oh yeah, I came here to give this to sister-in-law.”
Renata handed me a black box with a pink ribbon on the lid, when I opened the box my eyes were stunned. A perfume that says Havana on the front of the bottle made of glass filled with a fresh pink liquid, I know this is the latest perfume collection from the singer who looks like her face.
“I also have this perfume, and srother-in-law is the tenth person out of the total number of people who have this perfume in the world.”
We both laughed at the same time, the woman then said goodbye to both of us and thanked Sean, tomorrow he will be driven by Sam to the airport.
Sean and I sat on the sofa in front of the television watching a cartoon called Trolls after Renata left five minutes ago, actually she wanted to move the broadcast but I insisted that she didn’t, I love seeing those colorful mini creatures, I think they are soft and adorable. I lay on the sofa cushions on Sean’s lap, my eyes couldn’t take my eyes off the film I felt Sean move, when I turned my attention to him, he seemed to fall asleep with his head on the top of the sofa.
I slowly got up and removed the pillow from his lap and then leaned closer to him, looking at his sleeping face. He is very handsome, his face is very thick with the typical face of Middle Eastern men, thick eyebrows, sharp nose, firm jaw and sharp but seductive eyes, don’t forget those sexy red lips. I’m admiring my own husband and it’s like a sin, but I want to do it. I touched his jaw, which was covered with fine hair, feeling rough because after shaving, my touch stopped on his chin under his lips. The chewy thing was as tempting as a strawberry-flavored candy, I stroked her lower lip with the back of my thumb, then brought my face closer to hers to kiss him.
