I crossed to the other side of the road, after walking a few steps I immediately stopped the taxi and called Central Park, took off my glasses then put my elbow on the arm of the taxi door, my tears were like Niagara Falls, I stared at the city view with a gaze that was blocked by tears. My heart hurts and breaks, how dare Sean let her kiss him, hide her phone from me when I ask. I finally arrived at Central park, I put my glasses in my coat pocket, then paid for the taxi and got off. The cold wind hit my face again, I put my hands in my coat pockets and walked aimlessly. This park looks deserted because the current weather is not supportive for a walk in the park, I breathed through my mouth, it felt like there was a hole inside me, somewhere. I wiped the tears that were on my face with my fingers, I sat on one of the park benches, lifted my face while closing my eyes letting the cold wind cool my face, then observing the situation around me.
I remember going to this place with my mom. Oh, mom! I’m sobbing again, oh my God! It hurts so bad to see the person you love, to see your husband kissing his fucking ex-girlfriend. The sound of my crying is getting louder along with the pain I feel in my heart, I cover my face with both hands, being betrayed by the person we love can kill you, the pain is as big as your love for him. My cell phone stopped for a moment my activities that were crying over my fate, Ronald’s name was printed on the screen.
“Yeah...” I answered a little hoarsely.
“Are you okay? Where are you??”
Ronald seems worried, oh, Ron, I’m not okay, I just saw my husband being kissed by his unlucky ex-girlfriend and my husband didn’t turn it down.
“I’m in Central Park, what’s wrong?? You finished filming??”
“Yeah, I’m done. Want me to pick you up?”
I nodded even though Ronald didn’t see me.
“Yes, I’ll wait here, call me when you arrive.”
Our conversation ended, I exhaled then hugged my body. It’s cold here, maybe Singapore will soon experience the same climate, I wiped the tears that were still on my face, a few minutes later Ronald called me, I told my location in this park in detail, ten minutes later the man arrived in front of me, Ronald was wearing dark blue jeans, white sneakers, and his long gray fur coat around his neck, I reached for his outstretched hand toward me.
“You’re cold,” he said, squeezing my hand, and we walked out of Central Park embracing each other.
“How’s Sean?”
The answer to this question is like arsenic poison to me.
“He’s fine,” I replied, looking down at my heels, and I’ll tell him that later if I can. I plan to stay for a few days in this city before returning.
“I know you’re lying, let’s find a comfortable place to discuss your problem.”
Ronald kissed the top of my head quickly, he opened the car door for me, after closing the door he jogged around the front of the car and opened the door on the steering wheel, I sat in the front seat beside him. Ronald took me to a Chinese restaurant, he said he wanted to eat noodles because it was cold, I agreed with his choice. When we entered the restaurant, three women approached Ronald and asked him to take a photo together, when they realized who I was the three women looked at me with surprised and amazed looks, and seemed in disbelief and asked me to take a picture together. We walked over to the table we were going to sit at, oh, God! Is that Beyonce??? The woman was sitting with several people in the VIP room of this restaurant, I really wanted to go to her, but I could not stop myself from seeing her again, considering the professions of Ronald and Caroline.
“Now tell me what happened,” Ronald demanded when we finished ordering food, I took a deep breath and then exhaled.
“I saw my husband being kissed by his damn ex-girlfriend in front of the cafe a while ago, and my husband didn’t turn it down.”
For Hela the Goddess of Death! It felt like I had drunk arsenic poison and the moment the effects started to take effect, my soul seemed to be being pulled out forcefully. We were silent for a few minutes, then Ronald exhaled heavily.
“I know it hurts, but if Sean wanted to explain, would you listen??”
Unlucky! Why should Ronald try to be neutral at a time like this?? I don’t know whether to let Sean explain it or not, then let our relationship drift and we finally..., you idiot, Ariana! The other side of me is yelling at me really hard, tears are gathering fast in my eyelids, I’m in pain, but on the other hand I really love him.
“Don’t be too hard on yourself, Ana, there is no relationship without problems, if you want to solve your problems you have to clear your mind and feelings first, don’t make decisions when you are angry and desperate.”
I nodded and tried really hard not to cry, it’s in a public space, there’s a lot of paparazzi here, I don’t want my teary face on the magazine, it’s embarrassing. Our order arrived, the smell of this food distracts me from my problem, I have to eat this for the health of my son and me.
“You know, I’ve always wished we had a chance for a relationship other than cousins, but that seems impossible.”
I looked at Ronald who was currently smiling bitterly, I nodded weakly.
“Well, that’s impossible, I’ve always thought of you as my Big Brother Ron, sorry if it hurt you but that’s how it is.”
I looked at him with an apologetic look and also my love as a brother, Ronald smiled, this time his smile contained understanding.
“I know that, and I realize that my feelings for you may not be strong enough to build such a relationship because I have fallen in love with another woman.”
