"Cindy." She said softly as I walked closer to her after my father gave me an assuring smile. "Good evening ma'am, nice to meet you." I handed her the flower I got for her and she glances at it for a brief moment, then she looks up at my face again, still with that looks.
"Cindy, thank you." Her eyes couldn't leave my face and I had to smile awkwardly, I wonder if I didn't do my makeup well, or if I had something on my face, but there she was, staring at me with her clear blue eyes. "I am Louisa." She introduced herself.
"I am happy to see you Louisa and you look very beautiful." She was extremely gorgeous and I couldn't keep my mouth shut about it.
"Thanks for the compliment, you look beautiful." She looked at my father and he has a handsome smile on his face.
I don't know why I felt a bit strange while looking at the face of this lady, she looks so familiar to someone I know, but I can't just picture it.
We sat down and ordered something to eat, while eating I remembered that I haven't thanked her for the meal she prepared the day I returned from the camp.
My dad had told me that she stopped by and made a delicious beef stew. "Mrs Louisa, the meal you prepared was very delicious and nourishing. Thank you so much."
A smile curled up on her lips, one thing I had noticed was she was beautiful and smiles a lot and she was also kind to me, I was already leaping for joy and can't wait for her to move in with us and be part of our family.
"I am happy my dad found a pretty lady like you and I can't wait to start calling you mother," I said with excitement, I wanted to try it out, even if it was just once.
She put down her spoon and glance at my father before looking at me with big eyes. "You can start now." She said with a smile and I beam.
"Really?" She nod and I look at my father who nods with a smile. "Mother." My eyes were almost getting wet, it makes me remember those time in elementary school where I would watch other children with their parents, but mine was dead. "Mom Louisa," I called out again.
"Yes, Cindy." She clasped her lips and I watch her eyes become wet and I was surprised too, but this was my happy moment.
"I am so glad you accepted me," I said with a choked voice, tears rolling down my cheek, but it was all happy tears.
"I am the one glad you accepted me." She stretched out her hands and took mine from across the table as she squeezed it gently, looking at me with tender eyes. "I am glad to hear you call me a mother."
"Thank you for being my stepmother and making my father happy, thank you so much," I told her and she blinks tears from my eyes and looks at me like she had something to tell me.
"I have a son, are you okay with that?" She asked and I was speechless for a while, I look over at my father, be had told me nothing about this. "Is it still okay for me to love your father?"
I turn my eyes back to her and a broad smile filled my lips and I nod. "It is okay with me, having a brother is very okay with me, I will have someone to clingy on and talk to."
This would be so awesome, I had forgotten the meal and was more curious to know what my new brother would be like, I wish he would be friendly and kind just like his mother and if he was okay with me being his sister.
"He is a nice person." She told me as if she had known what my thoughts were. "I told him about you too and he is okay with it, you would be meeting him soon if it is okay with you."
I like her, I like how she as for my permission and how she talks and everything about her. "Okay." I beam and stare at her. Staring at her eyes that were also staring back at me, I was sure she loves me, she looks at me like I was her daughter and makes my heart melt.
She passed me a little box and I looked at it puzzled. "I heard that your birthday passed, so I decided to get this present for you, it's coming late though."
She was such an angel, was there any stepmother like her, even if I haven't seen the gift, I wanted to embrace her, I wonder where my father got this lady, was she sent to him by my late mother? All the same, she was the best.
"Thank you so much, do you mind if I open this later?" She nods and I put the box in my bag and we continue eating, but my eyes and attention was only on her and she was also staring back at me and now I couldn't wait to tell Jeffery all about this.
