I was so furious when I arrived home, too mad at all the lies I had lived in, all the secrets kept away from, it hurts me a lot that I had to destroy all I could lay hands on at the mansion just to calm my rage but the pain and anger were too much.
I sat down in tears, what other lies had they kept away from me, does this means that I was alone all this while, was this the truth and why does it have to come out now.
I place my hands on my head, it was spinning and filled with a lot of questions, I was in pain, both in my heart and in my heart, was this what they say about the truth? Was this why they said the truth hurts so much?
“Jeffery,” I heard my mother’s voice, no, the voice of the lady who I had believed to be my mother alone.
I looked up at her, wanting to know all the truth about her secrets. “Tell me how she is your daughter, how did she become your daughter?” I was in so much rage and was not able to control it. “Tell me everything!”
Tears rolled down her eyes and I wonder if she should be the one crying or me. “I had an affair with Marcus because I loved him so much,” Her voice was cracked but I was glad that she didn’t beat around the bus.
Tears rolled down my cheek, Cindy was the child bore out of their affairs, and as far as I know, Cindy had a mother which I know about and that woman was also cheated by her husband, that was too horrible.
“I gave birth to Cindy, but because of you and your father I gave her away to Marcus and his wife who couldn’t bear a child took Cindy in as her daughter. I couldn’t even hold my baby for a month or weeks.” She knelt and tears filled her eyes as she sobbed.
I still love my mother and for a moment I didn’t want to see her cry, she couldn’t even hold her child who was Cindy, but I was angry that she blames me and my father for it all.
“Did my father know about your affairs?” I lift my brow, waiting for her response.
I could already figure out what her answers would be, it was obvious, if she was pregnant for another man, how won’t my father know and how won’t he feel hurt by it?
“Yes.” She said with a hoarse voice and look up at me, I clenched my fist as a knot rose in my chest, my dad was pitiful, just like I was right now.
I was heartbroken and hurt, I feel like I had been betrayed by the woman I love and had always called mother, I had also lost a treasure I should have held, now that Cindy could be my real sister by blood, I feel like I have lost everything.
“And he forgave you?” I asked with clenched teeth, my mother did not respond so I figured out the answer and my eyes became blurred with tears.
“Why was it Cindy of all people?” I barked. “Why was it, Marcus?” I run my hand through my hair and I couldn’t bear the pain in my heart anymore. “Why did you love him at first?”
I pushed the glass vase that was close to me and it crashed on the floor next to my legs, breaking into pieces as my mother flinched and looked up at me.
“Jeffery…”
“Do you know what Cindy means to me?” I barked, ignoring the pain some pieces of the glass had affected into my palm. “Do you know how much I love her?” I watched my mother’s eye dilate, perhaps she had figure it all out that Cindy was my girlfriend.
“Do you now know what I have to let go now all because of you?” I run my hands through my hair. “I have to let go of my heart.” I chuckled as I looked at her round face that was filled with tears.
“I was a bit okay when I found out you loved Marcus who was Cindy’s father, thinking I could convince you both not to get married in other to keep loving Cindy, but now it is all different, I am related to her by blood, so what do you expect me to do Louisa, What?” I shouted.
I bite down my lips, there was nothing I could do any more in this situation, I could only laugh at my stupid fate, it was all crazy how you can love someone, but stop because it Is all fucked up.
“Does Cindy even know you are her mother?” I curled my lips upwards, my eyes had dried up, I had cried a lot and the tears couldn’t fall anymore. “I don’t think she does, would she still love you when she finds out about all these?”
I got up from the ground and look at the lady I had admired, right now I was too furious to consider the love she showered me in the past, I shook my head. “I don’t think so.”
I strolled off, leaving the house, all I could hear was Louisa’s voice calling out my name and apologizing, but I didn’t stop, away from all these is where I want to be right now.
SUZY’s POV
I sat in class staring at Cindy’s empty seat, in a daze, I was still trembling, I know that there was no CCTV camera close to that area, but I have done something deadly and I didn’t know what state Cindy was in right now.
I have not heard anything from her friends, but I know that since her seat was empty, it only meant one thing, Cindy wasn’t in a good state.
“Suzy you have dark circles.” Bella’s voice pulled me out of my thoughts as I looked up and discovered that my two friends were staring at me.
I have tried to kill Cindy once before and now that I have done it again, I felt so restless and had even lost sleep, now I wish I have not done something like that, now I regret my actions, I thought I would be glad, but this time I felt like someone invisible was watching me.
“It looked like you had no sleep at all,” Vera added raising her brows, I pressed my lips together, I couldn’t tell my friends what I had done, the last time I did, it didn’t end well, they looked at me like I was the devil, this time they may report me.
“I heard Cindy had an accident and is at the hospital,” Bella said softly as she looked over at Cindy’s seat, my eyes wobble and my palm was wet and my fingers tremble that I had to hide them under the desk.
“She is in the intensive care unit, which means the accident was a terrible one.” Vera added. “it was a hit and run.” My heart skipped a beat when they said that and I have to look down to avoid their gaze. “I wonder who did it.”
I was too shaky to keep staying here, I will be discovered if they see my fear so I got up immediately. “I have to use the bathroom.” I quickly hurried away glancing over my shoulder at every step I took.
