Two Wives Chapter 57

What happened?!" I simply moved away from him to gather myself. I fixed my hair that was ruined by the wind and cleared my throat. "I think we're running out of gas..." he said calmly. He tried to start the engine again but he failed. "What? Are you kidding me?!" My voice pitched higher. I dumped my bag on the floor and sat frustratedly. I slowly felt my knees trembled in nervousness. He walked toward the back of the boat while I palmed my face. After a few, I heard his steps walking closer. "The motor overheated," he looked completely impassive as he pulled down his sunglasses. I blew out a deep breath. I hardly bit my lips before standing up. "This is all your fault, we shouldn't have used this. Or... or you should have checked the gas and the engine first before we go to that fucking Island!" I angrily said. Gabriel crossed his arms over his bare chest before a grin crept onto his face. "Are you scolding me?!" he shot back. I gulped. "No.. I... was just really nervous, alright..." My voice didn't come out as strong like it had been earlier. I returned to my seat while thinking about what possibilities may happen here. "I do appreciate if you didn't take all your frustration out on me..." he said in his baritone voice. He turned his back on me and I can't even utter a word. Damn it! I noticed him pull out his phone from his pocket and dialed someone while walking towards the edge of the boat. I bit down my bottom lip, suddenly feeling guilty. I know it's wrong to blame him but I was just too scared. I glanced at him. He was still talking to the phone while rubbing his nape. Gabriel spun around and met my gaze. His brows knitted together as he continued to stare at me. I can't help but to gasp and look away. I'm sure that island was still far, even the island we came from was out of our sight. The skies were already turning orange as the sun slowly sets. "Alright, just do what I say. We'll wait for the rescuer here..." I shifted on my seat after hearing what he said and his strides. I forced myself to look straight ahead, but I could see out of the corner of my eyes how hard he was staring at me. I gulped to remove the thorn insidde my throat. But what he did next completely blown me away and my bottom lip was split open. I held my breath as I lifted my eyes. I swallowed as I watch him take his clothes off, leaving him in his boxer shorts. Oh, Lord! This man is absurdly gorgeous! He stood tall with five o'clock shadow glorifying his muscular body. I held my seat tightly as I watched how his muscles flexed in every move. He laced his fingers together and stretched his arm forwardly. He turned to me. I felt my heart pounding and my mouth hits my chest big time! I made a face and looked away, but I just can't stop myself from subtly glancing at him. The wind blew his dark hair, and he desperately took a step forward. "What... are you doing?" I asked him, confused. I zipped my mouth when it was obvious that he wants to swim. His jaw hardened and it took a while before he answered. "I already called my staff. They'll arrive at any moment now..." I gasped, crossing my arms to cover my chest. Oh well, it's not the answer I was looking for, but it made me feel less anxious. I was about to say something when he suddenly dived into the water. My mouth opened in surprised, my heart suddenly felt nervous. "Gabriel!" I stood up and beamed at the ocean. My heart was pumping crazily against my chest. Negative thoughts entered my mind as I wait for him to come out. "Oh, God!" I took a deep calming breath. But I just can't help but to feel scared. What if the past repeats itself? What if I'll loose him again? No, it can't be happening. I shook my head intensely. "Zeki!" I shouted. My body was shaking violently, and my tears gathered at the corner of my eyes. Because there was still no indication of him coming out, I started to remove my dress. I filled my lungs with air as I stood at the edge of the boat. I can feel my knees wobbling. "Hezekiah!" I screamed again, hoping that he'd hear me. I closed my eyes and prayed before dipping into the water. "Gabriel!" I called, but there's no response. I dived a few times but I can't stay long under because the waves and the wind has started to get stronger. "Zeki!" I loudly called. I seemed to have lost my voice. I can't count how many times I called him name with my shaky voice. Tears started falling from my eyes while holding at the edge of the boat. I wanted to go up but I can't. My body went rigid and my legs were cramping so badly. "No..." I shook my head, "You can't do this to me, Hezekiah!" I cried. "Hezekiah!" I shouted his name once again. I screamed in shock when he suddenly came out beside me. I accidentally withdrew my hold onto the boat and sank. But before I could even do so, a big arm snaked onto my waist as the other hand was gripping my wrist. Because of rage, I pushed him away hard but he didn't even move. His hug went tighter that made our wet bodies clash against each other. "What the hell is wrong with you? Do you want to die?!" I scolded. His dark brown eyes are filled with anger. "Why are you even down here? Tell me?!" he fired back. His voice sent chill down my spine. My lips trembled in cold. "I was just... trying to save you!" I said under my warm breath, trying to get away from his hold but he didn't let me. He leaned his head down and looked intently to my parted lips. "But it's not my name you kept on calling earlier..." he said softly. His fingers caressed my skin, slowly, making me draw in a sharp breath. "And what m-makes you... assume that?" I trailed off, trying my very best to look away. His jaw clenched. In one swift motion, he already pinned me on the boat. He's still gripping my waist while the other one was holding the boat to keep us in place. "Stop being so fucking difficult, Emory..." he said huskily. That deep and familiar voice makes my heart pound fast. He pressed his body on mine. His hot chest burned on my skin, officially invading my personal space. "That name. You've been calling me by that name several times. It's impossible that you just kept on calling me by a different name by accident..." His eyes became dark and intense. Words got lost in my tongue. I can't think clearly now that he's too close to me. His warm body pinned me against the boat, and the sounds of our breaths were crystal clear. "Say it..." he whispered. "I want to hear it from you again..." he ordered me.
