"Meredith, look, it's Zeki!" Some of my classmates pushed me towards him.
His dark mysterious eyes locked down on me intensely. He put his hands on his pockets, looking impatient while waiting for me to say something.
"Hi! I'm... I'm... Ah!" Damn, I'm fucking stuttering. My heart almost flew out of my chest due to nervousness.
His brows twitched a little, lips curling up into a sly smirked.
"Emory Meredith Cervantes, right?" he asked confidently.
I gulped and blinked rapidly. Gosh, he knows me? Why does he know me?!
"Oh, shit!" I blurt.
I quickly turned my back on him and ran towards the ladies room. I entered one of the cubicles and suppressed myself from shrieking.
"OMG! He knows me?!" I exclaimed.
I almost cried in so much happiness because I thought he wouldn't notice me after everything. One day, I met him again at the corridor.
I stop in my mid-step, almost hugging my books tightly together with my heart beating so fast.
With a few step away, I could clearly see how hard his brows are frowning at me. He stopped in front of me.
"Hi!" he greeted, his lips twisted sexily.
The intensity in his eyes were still there that even if he won't talk, just looking at his eyes could tell more that enough.
I gulped, I seemed to have lost my voice. I felt like time stopped ticking. I stood frozen still because right now I could feel the heat tense up from all the corners of my body and my heart throbbed wildly against my chest.
"Emory, right? I'm Hezekiah Leric Grant. Nice to see you again..." he introduced in a baritone voice.
I smiled...
"You've been a good husband and friend to me. I can't point any bad thing at you, except that you've always been chased by girls..." I shook my head and chuckled a bit.
"Really?!" he sounds amused.
I lifted my head to him, I caught the small smile on his lips.
"Hmm, do you want to know the answer?!" I asked with brows twitched a little.
He raised his hands up, surrendering. "No, I'm not saying anything..." His lips quirked upwards into an infectious grin.
"Well, yes! Hezekiah Leric Grant, a lot of girls kept on going crazy over you back when we were still college!" I rolled my eyes.
He pocketed his hands. "Well, Girls always wanted a man who can satisfy their sexual needs and fantasies, and maybe they think that I can be that man, a man of their dreams..." He grinned to reveal his straight, pearly teeth.
My eyes went wide and slapped his shoulder. "How shameless of you!" I rolled my eyes again
I crossed my arms over my chest before turning my back. The man of their dreams?! Is he joking?
My cheeks heated when I realized that there are times that I thought of him that way before.
Damn it!
"Hey, just kidding..." he chuckled sexily.
I glanced at him. His features are now dark, he became obscured by his sudden seriousness. He's often like that, serious and thinking deep.
"You said I have a family. I want to see them..." he muttered.
My eyes softened when I heard him say those words.
"I want to know if I still have parents to go home to, or siblings?" he added as he stared afar.
I smiled, "Of course! You have siblings, Iseah, Kesha, and Zia!"
He tilted his head and licked his lower lip slowly. "How about my parents?"
My smile faded away when he asked that question. "I'm s-sorry..." I muttered while cowering my head.
Silence...
The wind chilled my skin beneath and tousled my hair to the ringlets. I could only hear the wind breeze sweeping around us.
He took a deep sigh and turn his gaze at me.
"I still don't remember anything yet, just a few glimpse about my childhood past. I remembered Rupert, we met in a mall last year."
"W-what did he say to you?" There's worry in my voice.
"I asked him a lot of questions, but lile you, he didn't answer..." His jaw clenched.
I swallowed, slowly feeling guily. I felt how he wanted to know about his past but it's not that easy.
I also don't know what Rupert said to him. I felt like he's hiding something from their encounter.
The cold wind blew together with the loud sound of the ship arrving. I hugged myself and gathered some hair on my palm.
I could feel how hard he was staring at me with an intensity that made me melt.
"Why did I forget you?" he whispered closely. His voice was rippled with sadness. He sighed heavily after.
I bit my lip to suppress my tears. "It's my fault. I was scared. I'm scared that you won't accept the truth..." I whispered, barely enough to be heard.
I averted my eyes, trying hard to control my anger, but my lips trembled angrily.
"You married someone else. You already did Zeki, you forgot everything when you married Alessandra!" My voice cracked.
I'd be a fool to myself to not cry in front of him. My tears fell as the ship docked.
He didn't talk, eyes fixed at me but looking at something yard beyond my head.
I watched as the white in his eyes turned into pure black, his brows were furrowed in frown. His mouth formed a rigid grimace.
I turned to where he's looking and ai almost outbalanced when I saw the man walking towards us. I noticed my feet tremble, sweat drenching my skin as my heart thumped against my chest.
"Ellie..." I whispered weakly. My tears quickly stopped falling when I saw him.
"Hi!" His soft lips stretched into a genuine smile.
Out of nowhere, I smiled back.
He walked closer. Hesitantly, I took a small step forward and made an effort to keep my own smile in tact.
I lifted my head when he stopped in front of me. He smiled widely.
"Hi!" he muttered closely.
His hand reached under my hair below my ear, his thumb caressed my cheeks and kiss me. I swallowed the chunk in my throat as his lips pampered the thunder of my heart.
"W-what are you doing here?" My voice was hoarse when he left my cheek.
"Like what I said on the phone earlier, I want to make things up to you, so... here I am," he replied.
I nodded and peeked at Gabriel who's still in the same positin. His eyes remained dark and calm.
"Ah, Ellie, he's... Mr. Gabriel Magnus, my boss," I said with my shaking voice.
I heard small laughs coming from Ellwood as he took a step towards him.
I was nervous.
"Have we met before?" Ellie started, lending his hand towards Gabriel.
"I don't think we have..." he replied as he grabbed Ellie's hand for a quick shake. A fleeting expression on his face showed malcontent but soon he was smiling broadly.
"Are you sure?" Ellwood glanced at me with a smirk on his lips. I held his arm to stop him from saying anything.
"Ellwood Echeverrii, Emory's best friend!" he now formally said.
"Gabriel Magnus..." Gabriel said in a baritone voice.
They stared at each other for some time before they removed their hands.
"So, wanna have some coffee, guys?" Ellie turned his cheshire cat smile at me.
