"Good morning, Miss Grant! Breakfast is ready..." Hunts told to me with curled lip.
I shot him with a smile. "Good morning!"
I went with him. Instead of being awkward, I was amused while observing him.
"When did you arrive?" I ask him while shrugging my shoulders.
"I just got here from Galla, Miss," he answered calmly.
I nodded and turned to the lift. I entered the elevator but he remained outside.
"Mr. Grant is waiting for you at the lobby. Enjoy the rest of the day, Miss!"
His lips slightly lifted before the elevator closed. I stood there, not believing what I heard.
My heart started pounding so fast. I suddenly wanted to make the lift go down faster.
The door opened and Sean's face greeted me. "Good morning! This way, please..." he assisted me.
I awkwardly stepped in. I can't find any emotion in his face, and it made me nervous.
We got out of the hotel, and there I realized, we're walking towards of the beach umbrellas.
From where I'm standing, I could already spot Gabriel. I can't help but to notice his beguiling features. He was wearing a white long sleeve that's been rolled up to his elbows. His dark slacks reflected his entire body structure and the wind blew his hair in an artistic way. I wouldn't question why almost every woman who passes by can't help but to turn their heads to him.
He's a charming man who had no problem winning women's hearts. And I hate to admit that I'm one of those girls who's fangirling him right now.
I was frozen while Sean walked to him and whispered something. At that point, he looked at me, coldness and indifference coating his gaze. I held my breath with the kind of stare he gave on my clothes.
Does my shirt unfitting of this place? This is how I dress up even before. I also prefer wearing cropped top and shorts. I thought we're only staying for a day at Galla so I didn't bring a lot of clothes.
Sean pulled me a seat, so I walked to them. He went away after I got seated.
The breakfast was already hot in serve, but my attention was not on the food, but on how Gabriel stared at me.
"Good m-morning!" I heard my self stammer that I didn't resemble my own.
His lips moved slightly, looks like he was going to say anything. But instead of doing so, he just glanced at the table near us.
I followed his eyes, and it landed to a group of men that occupied the beach umbrella beside us.
A man smiled at me, while another one beside him raised a glass to me. I quickly averted my gaze and leaned my back against the chair casually.
"I don't like your dress..." he went straight to the point. His eyes raked down on my revealed stomach due to the cropped top I was wearing.
"I thought we won't stay here for long," I defensed.
He stared at me coldly, his expression filled with disappointment. He didn't talk and turned to his food.
I pouted. What's wrong with wearing this? We're at the beach! What if I wore a two piece instead? I smiled devilishly at that. In the end, I also turned my attention to the food in front of me.
Both of us were silent. His focus was on his food. I didn't know how to open a new conversation between us.
"I'll be having a meeting with one of my investors right after this. I want you to go with me," he spoke in a stern voice.
My eyes went to my clothes. I heard him gnashing his teeth over the breakfast before shaking his head.
"I'll let Hunts call you," he told me.
Our breakfast didn't last long, I git back to my suite immediately. I ransacked my bag to find a dress appropriate for the meeting later.
I went to the lobby to find a dress, but before I could even take a step, I heard my doorbell rang together with continuous knocks from outside.
Hunts is at the door step. My lips parted at the big box he's holding.
"Mr. Grant wants to give this to you. I'll wait for you outside," Hunts said casually.
He lowered his eyes to cover a flash of a warm smile in his eyes. I was blinking as I followed him ti the center table.
"Ah, thanks, Hunts!" I said when he turned to the door.
He simply nodded and got out of my room .
I immediately faced the box to open it. And to my surprise, I saw a cream pastel pencil skirt paired with white blazer and a white sleeveless blouse. A white tip-toe heels were also inside.
My mouth curled up into a soft smile. I love it! I know it's just a small thing, but I find him sweet.
I quickly dolled myself up, and I was surprised to know that the clothes fitted me perfectly. How did he know my size? He even knew my foot size.
I smiled loosely as I stared at my reflection. My look now was far from how I looked earlier.
I decided to go out. As I've had expected, Hunts is patiently waiting for me at the front door. I gave him a small smile before he assisted mwe to the elevator. He brought me to the first floor where the conference room is.
There's still no one when I entered the room. The projector was already set, same as the blue folders on the long table.
I chose to sit on one of the swivel chairs. Out of curiosity, I opened the blue folder in front of me.
"Sunrise Steel Incorporated?" I whispered while reading its cover.
The name was unfamiliar. I turned the page only to be surprised.at Hezekiah's name written in the project.
I swallowed, feeling the nerves starting to build up from my chest. How come that he's the owner of this company?
The door suddenly opened that made me stand up. Everyone was looking at me with curiosity, while the others smiled at me.
"G-Good morning, Sir!" I managed to voice out.
They greeted back and smiled as they passed over me.
The door opened again, Gabriel entered the room wearing his coat and tie. He slowly pulled down the sleeve of his coat that made him look more desirably hot.
My lips parted when he stared at me before scanning my body. The corner of his lips moved slightly but his eyes were filled with a cold, murderous intent.
"Please take a seat, everyone," he said with authority.
He walked pass me and sat at the center chair at the end of the table, while I decided to sit somewhere at the opposite end.
"Gentlemen, please open the file that we would like to present to you," thr man on Gabriel's right side started.
"We were planning to expand our shipyard this year and if you're interested to be part of our rising cargo ship, we will promise you to provide such a generous partnership," he clearly enunciated.
"As you can see, we are not the leading shipping company in the country. There's Echeverrii Trading, the number one shipping yard in the country as of today. We can manage to go higher than their services if you help us with this project," he added.
I saw some nodded that seemed to like what they heard.
I shifted on my seat when I heard about the Echeverrii Trading. I can't be mistaken, it was Ellwood's shipping yard they're talking about.
I glanced at Gabriel on his swivel chair. I held my breath for a second when I note his coldhearted glare at me. His expression was stoic as he watched me silently.
I felt like he was watching my reaction for a while now. I cleared my throat and fell my lashes down timidly.
"I heard about the merging of Echeverri Trading and The Rising Stone. How can you be so sure that our investments for Sunrise Steel won't fall into nothing?" one of those gentlemen askred a question to Gabriel.
He straightened his back before putting both his elbows onto the mahogany table.
