"And you are?" The doctor asked Nikolai,
"I'm his brother," he said, looking at the doctor who nodded at his answer.
"Okay, the patient has lost most of his blood, and the bullet hit his chest… it's moving closer to the heart every time we try to remove it, we need to do the operation right now or else he may die," after hearing what he said my heart began beating rapidly.

These words were echoing in ears, I was breathing but it felt like the air was not reaching my lungs. Suddenly, I felt so suffocated and felt like there was no air present in the room.
"Venessa!?"

"Venessa!" Nikolai shook my shoulders pulling me out of my trance, I looked at him and saw his worried look on his face. I turned my head towards the doctor, "Please doctor, do something and save him, please," I began pleading with him as tears were streaming down my eyes.
"I'll do what I can," he said looking at me.
I nodded and stood up from the chair, Nikolai took hold of my wrist and took me outside of the room.
After walking out of the cabin, he made me sit on the nearby chair. As I sat on the chair, I began sobbing out loud, my body was shaking while I was crying my lungs out.
"I'm sorry," I heard him whisper.
I looked at him as I got confused at his apology, "What!?" I asked, in confusion.
He looked at me with guilt, pain, and regret evident in his eyes. I stared at those once beautiful eyes staring at me with unknown emotion in them.
"This is all because of me," he almost whispered to himself staring at the floor.
"It's all my fault," he mumbled,
"Wha...What are you talking about!?" I asked, there was this feeling deep inside that whatever he was going to tell would hurt me but I pushed it down.
"Remember that day when Enzo met you at my house,?" He asked, staring at the ground.
"Yes," I said, gulping down.
"He actually came to you back," he said, turning his head towards me.
"Before coming to you, we both meet in the forest…."
Back to the day in the forest
Nikolai's Pov.
"For What do I owe this visit," I said, looking at Enzo's furious face.
He was walking to me in a way that every man in this world could get intimidated by that walk of his.
His hands reached me and grabbed my collar, "Don't try to play smart with me, Vasiliev" he said gritting his teeth.
"I'm not!" I said, pulling his hands off my collar as he was glaring at me.
"Bringing her here and forcing her to be in your mansion without her will?... SEND.HER.BACK Vasiliev!"
He snarled, stepping ahead.
We glared at each other for a while, "No!" I said sternly.
He raised his left eyebrow with a questioned look on his face, "Excuse me!" He said,
"Are you challenging me, Vasiliev" he stepped ahead with a piercing glare.
"No, I'm not...Think about it, Lorenzo, All this time she was with you and all you gave her was pain, she was hurt and constantly cried because of you… Here! She was happy! Always smiling and happy with Roman…If you really want her to be happy, you wouldn't come here because when she sees you all those things you did to her will haunt her again…" I can see him staying quiet for a while, thinking about what I said.
His eyes dropped, his once intimidating aura is now gone and I instantly know what's going on in his mind.
"You're right," I heard him whisper, "She can't be happy with me," he whispered with sadness and pain evident in his eyes.
I didn't say anything and watched him turn back and walk away from there.

Back To Venessa's Pov.
I couldn't believe what I was hearing, Enzo left me there because he thought I wouldn't be happy with him?
Tears rolled in my eyes, I burst out into loud sobs as his words rushed into my head. I never knew that this man loved me this much.
I felt Nikolai's hands wrapping around me and pulling me closer, I rested my head against his chest while I cried my eyes out.
For a few minutes, I cried out in his arms and suddenly one question popped in my head. I moved back from his arms and looked at him with my tear-stained face, "Why did you ask him to take me back?" I asked looking at his face.
I watched him avert his eyes from me and felt sudden tension in the air which made me very suspicious.
"Nikolai?" I watched him releasing a sigh and gazing at the ground.
"My father...was keeping his men behind you…. Watching and waiting to kidnap you," he said in a bit of anger and sadness in his voice.
