I heard gunshots coming from the stairs, I tried to peep outside and saw three black shirts guys with black masks falling down on the ground with bullets shot on their heads and on their bodies.
After that gunshot sounds stopped, I heard footsteps coming our way. I was shaking badly, with my shaking hands I was holding Roman.
"Venessa!" I heard Enzo screaming for me.
Hearing his voice, I ran outside towards him. He was looking around, standing in the middle of the dead bodies.
"Enzo!" I called, and he quickly turned to me, I ran to him and hugged him. All my anxiety washed away when I was back in his arms.
He's safe! My mind screamed happily.
"Are you okay?" He asked, taking my face in his both hands, I smiled and nodded my head.
Before I could ask him, We heard heavy footsteps coming towards us. Enzo quickly pushed me back, I stumbled back.
***Gunshot***
My back hit the ground and when I looked up blood was the only thing I saw.
Everything was blurry to me, I tried to get up but wasn't able to. I tried to ignore all the noise and looked at Enzo, whose back was facing me. I noticed him looking down at himself, I turned my head towards the corner where I hid before and saw Roman sobbing.
Tears were streaming down his eyes, I didn't understand what was happening. My legs were shaking because of this unknown fear crawling inside my body. I tried to get up and noticed Nikolai running towards Enzo, his face was all the features of panic and pain and tears in his eyes were visible to me.
Before I could register what was happening, Enzo fell down on the ground. When my eyes moved to his unconscious body laying on the floor my heart skipped a beat. My throat went soar, I couldn't breathe and tears began rolling in my eyes.
"Enzo!" I fell on my knees and moved towards him. Blood was oozing out of his chest, he was completely covered in blood. I was crying out while holding his hand trying to wake him up, but he wasn't opening his eyes at all.
"Nikolai! Do something please!" I screamed looking at him, he immediately got down and lifted him up with the help of John.
Roman ran to me, I looked around and noticed Judy running to me from the kitchen. We walked outside of the mansion, Enzo's bodyguards were covering us from all sides. Nikolai moved him inside his car, Roman and I got inside the same car.
Judy and the bodyguards were behind us in black SUV as we drove to the hospital. As Nikolai and John took him inside, I and Roman were walking behind them, while the doctor took Enzo inside Roman was continuously crying, so I made him sit on the chairs.
I wiped his tears and hugged him, "Don't cry baby, Nothing will happen to him!" I whispered.
"Nothing will happen to him," I murmured, ensuring him and myself.
I released him and tried to force a smile on my face while I shook my head as I wiped his tears, "He will be okay!" I said kissing his forehead.
I sat beside him, holding him in my lap. I tried to control my tears and stay strong, "He'll be okay, he has to be okay!" I said to myself.
No matter how much I tried to control myself I couldn't control my tears as they were streaming down my eyes.
He took a bullet for me!
My mind was screaming inside my head, the events were flashing in front of my eyes every passing second. I didn't know his love for me was this strength that he was ready to take a bullet for me, this made crying even harder. I quickly placed my hand over my mouth, controlling myself not to let the sounds come out.
As the sound footsteps of a doctor walking out filled my ears, I quickly walked to his side.
"Doctor, how's he?" I asked with my shaking voice and tears strained my face.
The doctor looked at me for a sec, "I'm his wife!" I immediately said to him for which he nodded his head, "Please come with me," he said walking ahead.
I glanced at Nikolai who began walking to me, "I'll come with you" he said for which I nodded, and we both followed the doctor to his cabin.
We stepped inside the cabin, I was very worried and scared to listen to what he had to say about Enzo.
I stood in front of the doctor who signalled us to sit down on the chair placed in front of his table, we both sat down on the chairs. I was rubbing my palms in tension, Nikolai noticed my worries and tension. He placed his hand on my hands and squeezed them, I glanced at him and nodded.
