Thinking about it I tripped and was about to fall down but in time Nikolai caught my shoulder and held me, “Enzo!” he yelled, helping me stand up.
“What is wrong with you?” Nikolai shouted at me while helping me sit on the bed, he handed me a glass of water and helped me drink it. I drank it whole and placed it on the table, “This was the reason I’m asking to stay Enzo,” Nikolai said,
“I can’t sit here, Knowing my wife got kidnapped by that son of a bitch,” I yelled at him before he could say anything the doctor walked in with an unimpressed expression on his face. We all glanced at him, he walked to us dragging a chair with him. He placed the chair in front of me and sat on it. He looked at all of the people present in the room, “Can I talk to these two please,” he said, looking at me and Nikolai, hearing him, My men and Nikolai’s men walked out of the room leaving Nikolai with the doctor and me.
After they left us, the doctor looked at us and took a deep breath,” Mr. Francisco, what did I say about taking a rest,” he said looking at him, I just looked away from him.
“I clearly said, you should take rest, Why can’t you understand that,” he said as I was avoiding his eye contact,
“I can’t stay here, doing nothing!” I said lowering my head as tears rolled in my eyes,
”She’s in danger!” I whispered, suddenly I felt so weak, I felt like I was not in a good shape to save her, but I promised to save her from any danger. I couldn’t understand how I should save her when I’m like this. Disappointment and anger filled me like a poison, helplessness made me vulnerable in front of the doctor.
As I was lost in my self-hate, I heard the doctor getting up from the chair and I looked up at him to see him walking outside of the room which made me so confused, I glanced at Nikolai who was looking at the doctor with the same confused expression. He turned his head and looked at me, as we both stared at each other with confusion the doctor walked inside with a kit in his hands. He was very serious when he walked in with the kit.
“Doctor?” Nikolai called him, but the doctor ignored him and placed the kit on the table.
He opened the kit and began setting something inside which wasn’t clear for us to see, Nikolai and I were watching him with curiosity as we both kept quiet and saw the doctor doing whatever he was doing, he turned around and glanced at both of us and sat down on the chair.
“I’m going to give medicine to you through the injection, it works like a pain killer, only for five hours the pain you have will go away but after five hours you have to come back immediately as the pain may increase five times more… you may lose your consciousness if you don’t come back in time,” he said looking at me, hearing what he said. I was so happy. I have a chance to save her and kill that bastard by myself.
“I need your permission to go on with the procedure,” he said, looking at both of us.
Before I could say okay Nikolai cut me off, “Are you sure there won’t be any more complications with that doctor?” he asked him, the doctor turned to him,
“No, only that you need to get him back in five hours,” he said to Nikolai while getting up from the chair and getting the kit. He made me lay back and injected me with the medicine. After he had injected me, I quickly tried to get up but he put his hand on my chest and pushed me back, “Lay down for two minutes for the medicine to work,” he said while shaking his head and putting back the things in the kit.
That two minute was the longest in my entire life. It felt like the time had just stopped and not moved at all. I kept on glancing at the table watch asking Nikolai whether it’s actually working or not, my anger was increasing by passing seconds and all those thoughts of her were rushing to my mind. The pain was slowly decreasing, “Times up, come on let’s go!” Nikolai said, and I immediately got up from the bed and wore my shirt, we rushed towards the car. Looking at us, Paul immediately opened the car door and got inside, while we got inside the car paul started the engine.
John sat in the front seat while Nikolai and I sat in back seats, we drove downtown and tracked the building where Venessa was held, hostage. Paul stopped the car near a tall tree so that no one could see our car and recognize it. As soon as Paul stopped the car, I opened the door and tried to get down, but Nikolai caught my hand and stopped me.
“Wait,” he said with a glare, I moved back and closed the door.
“What?” I asked with an irritating tone,
“Are you nuts, our one mistake can put her in danger Enzo,” he said while glaring at me,
