The doctor turned his head to Nikolai and glanced at him before turning to me. This confused me more, “Mr. Francisco, we had to do the operation to take the bullet out of your body, we had both your wife’s and brother’s written permission…We are successful in it but... you need to take rest as much as you can,” he said and turned around towards Nikolai, "You need to take care of him, make sure he doesn't stress much!” he said and walked away from the room closing the door behind.
Now after everyone had left the room, only Nikolai and I were left, I was confused, sad, and also angry. I don't know which emotion I should show, I was confused that if I had an operation and with the written permission of Venessa then where is she? I'm sad that she’s not here with me; I’m angry that this idiot is lying to me on my face, something is wrong and he’s not telling me that.
“Where is she?” I asked, I was trying hard to be calm but I can’t. He walked towards me and pulled the chair next to my bed while sitting on the chair, “She’s okay, you need to keep calm and take some rest now…” I was beyond pissed hearing him say that.
"Stop it!" I screamed,
"Tell me, before I break your neck!" I said, glaring at him.
He opened his mouth, but the sound of the opening door took our attention, John walked inside and smiled looking at me.
"Good to see you well sir," he said while walking to me and standing next to me.
I glanced at Nikolai and turned my head towards John, "Do you know where Venessa is?" I asked as I smiled at him.
I noticed him glancing at Nikolai, as I asked him about her.
“Sir… Miss Venessa is okay'' he said, As I noticed the nervousness in his voice I raised my left eyebrow up. I instantly understood by the look on his face that he got intimidated, and I tried to use that, “Don't make me ask you again, John'' I said.
He glanced at Nikolai before looking at me, “Sir, Miss Venessa…” he said, in the gap, my heart started to beat so fast that I feared it would come out of my ribcage.
“Tell me, goddamn it” I yelled at him as I was scared to hear what he had to say. He gulped and tried to open his mouth,” Miss… Venessa got...kidnapped,” he said stepping back.
“What!” I screamed and because of that terrible pain string in my chest, my hand automatically touched the place where I felt that pain, in just a sec Nikolai ran to me.
“ENZO!” he wrapped his arms around me and made me lean back on the pillow, “This was the reason why I didn't tell you about it,” he said with a concerned look on his face, John immediately brought the doctor with him to the room.
“Please leave the patient,” he said, walking to me. Hearing the doctor, Nikolai and John both began walking outside, before closing the door behind I noticed Nikolai’s pained and concerned look.
It was the same look he had when I accused him of killing Dominic, he was hurt and I know he felt betrayed when I said those things to him.
Even though I saw his men working with Boris there was a small part in me telling me that he can't do that, they are his siblings to him too. But I ignored it, I know he didn't do that but whenever I see him, the way they both got killed flashes in front of my eyes, making me angry. I know I shouldn't punish him for something he didn't do, but I can't control myself.
Boris was his father, his face flashes in front of my face whenever I see him and it was the main reason why I stopped talking and meeting him. I know I’m hurting many in this but to hide from that pain I had to ignore the fact that there was no mistake of him in that incident and hate him, it was the only solution I had.
“I told you once, and I'm going to tell you one more time Mr.Francisco, Please don't stress and avoid talking much,” he said while checking me, “Would you be quiet if you knew that your wife got kidnapped doctor,” I asked him controlling my anger, he stopped what is was doing and glanced at me.
“No, I wouldn't” he mumbled, I opened my mouth to say something but he cut me off by saying,”But I wouldn’t kill myself before saving her,” he said looking at me with a smile on his face.
“If I plan to save her from the kidnappers, I will make myself stronger first,” he said as he turned back and began walking out of the room leaving me completely surprised at his answer.
After he had left the room, Nikolai walked into the room with John.
“What were guys doing when she got kidnapped?” I asked, looking at them as I tried to talk in a low voice as the doctor instructed.
Nikolai lowered his head when he heard me, “She was with me all the time… she asked me for my phone and after that, she went missing, we searched for her everywhere but didn't find her anywhere,” he said.
“Do you know with whom she talked to on the phone?” I asked him,
He shook his head while answering,” No”
All the possible ways of her getting hurt by the kidnappers were playing in my mind, who kidnaped her? Was the only question running in my head. The day Nikolai came to my home with Roman, I asked why he was here. He told me everything about Boris’s plan and explained to me that it's best for me to let him be here for Venessa because she is emotionally attached to Roman and him.
