"Enzo!" I whispered, placing my palm over my mouth. He looked horrible.
His once beautiful face is now broken, he was clearly so drunk. He didn't even notice us standing next to him, he was just staring outside the window.
"From the day you left, he's been like this… Every night he comes here and comes out in the morning…" she was sobbing while telling me, "look around, he filled this room with your photos…" I quickly turned and noticed photo frames, it wasn't clear due to darkness but I can recognize them.
"He imagines about you… Every night, He imagines that you're with him… Jessica had been taking advantage of this, Even yesterday she tried to take advantage of his condition, but I stopped her…" the moans and grunts I heard yesterday rushed to my mind, I immediately cut her off, "Yesterday, You stopped her?" Her expression changed to confusion, "Yeah, I didn't let her take him, I made him sleep in the guest room"
If he wasn't with her, then with whom she was in our bedroom. All that moans and grunts?
"Enzo!" Judy's yell pulled me out of my questions, I glanced at her and saw her helping Enzo to sit down on the couch.
She turned back to me, "Take care of him," she said while walking beside me towards the door.
I watched her close the door, and the room was back to darkness, I turned towards Enzo as I took a deep breath.
He was staring outside the window while taking a sip of the whiskey,
"Enzo!" I whispered.
Hearing my voice, he turned his head,
"Venessa?" He whispered like he was happy to see me.
Because of the darkness, I couldn't see what he's expression was but I noticed his lips moved upwards. I understood that he's happy to see me here, "You came?" he said as he took my hand in his and pulled me in between his legs.
As I sat down on his lap, I noticed tears on his cheeks. Roman was right, Enzo was crying but why?
He moved my hand towards his lips and kissed my palm, "I thought you wouldn't come to me today," He said with tears rolling in his eyes.
I need to go on to make him tell what's running in his mind, I thought.
"Why did you think I wouldn't?" I asked, looking into his eyes.
He stared into my eyes without saying anything, "Why?" I asked again, without looking away from him.
"Because Nikolai's here," he whispered looking away from me.
I placed my hand under his chin and turned his head towards me, "No matter what happens, I will never leave you," I said, looking into his eyes.
I won't leave him even if he wants me to. I love him and nothing can change that.
"I love you," he said looking into my eyes and I noticed his tears.
Before I could say I love you too he cut me off, "But… I should let you go," he said, this confused me.
"I should let you go, Nikolai deserves you more than me…" I tried to tell him something, but he put his finger on my lips shutting me up.
"I'm not good for you, You deserve someone better than me," there was something in his eyes that I never saw before, agony and hurt were evident but there was something else which I'm trying to understand but couldn't.
"You'll be happy with him, he can give you anything that I couldn't… I only gave you pain and nothing else, he'll give a good family and love…" tears were rolling down from his cheeks while he was telling me this, I can understand, he didn't want me to leave but something is making him do this.
I want to know why he wants me to move on with Nikolai, why?
"He'll lo..love you more than me…" I placed my hand on his mouth and stopped him.
Tears were streaming down my eyes looking at his condition. I never saw Enzo like this before and it hurt me to know that his condition was because of me.
"Please... please stop," I whispered.
I glanced up at him, "I love you, you, not him… even though he might be good for me but I love you, I want to spend my entire life with you, not with him…" I sobbed I couldn't control it anymore.
It hurts, It hurts to hear him telling me to move on with someone else.
"I love you," he replied as he took my face in his hands and pulled me closer, his lips pressed against mine and moved slowly.
His kiss is not at all the same as those movie stars, but one steeped in a passion that ignites. It was slow and soft, comforting in ways that words would never be. His hand rested below my ear, his thumb caressing my cheek as our breaths mingled.
I ran my fingers down his spine, pulling him closer until there was no space left between us and I could feel the beating of his heart against my chest.
We stared at each other's eyes as we were breathing hard, the way his beautiful green eyes were looking at me told me how much he loves me.
He pressed his forehead against mine, "Don't leave me," he whispered, I smiled and shook my head, "I won't," I whispered back while wrapping my arms around his neck and resting my chin on his shoulder.
He hugged me back and leaned his head against mine, inhaling my hair smell. I placed my hand in his hair and began moving it as we both stayed in each other's embrace for a while.
I enjoyed the moment as much as I wanted because I know he'll forget this tomorrow, he won't remember any of this because he thinks this is all his imagination.
"I love this smell," He whispered against my hair.
I smiled, "You do?" I asked while placing a kiss on his neck, "Yeah, Don't ever cut your hair," he said like a warning.
"Okay," I said as I laughed at his warning.
Suddenly, Nikolai's words rushed to my mind, "Enzo,?" I mumbled,
"Hm,?" He whispered,
"Can I ask you something?" I asked as I was a little nervous to ask him about that but I was a bit sure that he would tell me if I asked.
