My eyes went to the beautician who was still standing near the door.
"What are you doing here?" I asked annoyingly.
"Luna, I'm here to help you." She mumbled, bowing her head in respect. "I know you already told me that you won't come but I wanted to request you because Alpha is waiting for you in the auditorium impatiently. Please Luna attend the Luna ceremony. There are many Alpha who came just to know who is the Luna of the moon pack. Please come otherwise everyone will make fun of our Alpha Alex" She mumbled.
"Alex" I whispered and looked towards the clock. It was 11.00 pm, and in pain, I didn't even realise how the time went. I looked at my foot, blood was still oozing out of it.
"Please help me" I pleaded and sat on the bed. She looked at me and gasped, widening her eyes.
"Luna" she screamed and came towards me.
"Moon Goddess, how did this happen? How did you get injured?" she asked. "Let me call Alpha," She said and stood up but I held her hand.
"It's not time for all this. I have to reach the auditorium before It's too late. Please help me" I whimpered.
"But Luna, you lost so much blood and if I didn't inform Alpha then I don't know what he will do with me."
"He will not harm you... I promise but please right now help me. get me the first aid"
"Luna" she looked at me helplessly.. not knowing what she should do or not.
"please" I requested. she sighed and immediately went outside and came back with a first aid box. She helped me get bandaged.
"What is your name?" I asked.
"Sia" She whispered and then kept my right carefully on the floor after doing a bandage.
"I think I should call the doctor, she will do it properly," she said looking at the injury to my left foot.
"There is no time for that. do it temporarily then afterward I will get my checkup done" I said in an assuring tone. She nodded and bandaged my left foot.
"Now help me to reach the auditorium," I said and tried to get up. She immediately held my hand.
"Aah," I hissed in pain as my foot touched the floor.
"I know Luna, I was the one who asked you to attend the ceremony but now please drop this idea. You're badly injured and it must be hurting you a lot. Let me call the Alpha. he will understand your problem"
"You don't need to say sorry and I know Alex would understand my problem but as you say there are many Alpha from different packs who came here just to attain the Luna ceremony. I don't want them to make fun of my Alex. I will not do such a thing that reflects his name. I wanted to be his pride, not a shame and moreover, Alex told me that if I want to give him a chance then I will have to come to the Luna ceremony. He must be waiting for me. Please help me, ``I said, looking at her and moving my feet. It's painful but I know when I see Alex's smile seeing me there, everything would be worth it.
"But Luna"
"It's my order," I said in an authoritative tone. She looked at me helplessly and then nodded her head. With the help of Sia, somehow I reached the auditorium but when I saw the scene in front of my eyes. My smile vanished and tears welled up in my eyes. My legs were shaking, causing me to fall to the ground.
I'm still not able to believe my eyes. Alex was standing on the stage holding a girl's hand and then everyone surrounded them, howling happily.
"Alpha chose someone else as his Luna" Sia mumbled and then sat beside me.
"Luna, Are you ok?" She asked.
"I'm not your Luna anymore. Go and congratulate your new Luna. he chose someone else" I mumbled and wiped my tears. My heart was broken into a thousand pieces seeing the scenario in front of my eyes.
The pain is too much for me to take, I felt like if I stay here for more than a minute then I will die. I was not even able to breathe.
"Please help me go back to the room," I said and stood up. I felt immense pain in my foot but the pain of betrayal is much more than that. Sia immediately held my hand. She helped me get back to my room and then made me sit on the bed.
"May I ask you one thing, Luna? you only said that you don't want to attain the Luna ceremony then why did you change the plan" she asked.
"When I talk to your Alpha and see love in his eyes, my decision changed at that point and when I was getting ready for the Luna ceremony, I heard the voice of water. I went inside the washroom to check and there I injured myself. I was trying to get out those pieces of glass when I heard the sound of a door breaking and about saying I will not attain Luna ceremony, I said that because I felt that you were with someone and that thought scared me and to check if that person is here to harm me or not... if the person was to harm me, he will not go but if his or her intention is good then he will get out and the person that was with you went out of the room immediately after that and when I get assured that there is no harm, I come out of the washroom"
"That person was Beta Max... he came here to check on you as Alpha's order and he only mindlink me to ask you whether you were attaining the Luna ceremony or not. He must have said to Alpha that you're not coming and that's why Alpha Alex chose someone else in place of you" She said. I closed my eyes and took a deep breath. I was trying my best not to cry in front of her.
"I will get water for you," She said and went outside. I still was unable to believe that Alex marked someone else. I pinched myself hoping to be in a dream but it was all real... It's real... again my close one betrayed me.
"Luna" Sia muttered extended glass towards me. I took the glass from her hand and threw it on the floor.
"How many times I have to tell you, not to call me Luna... I'm not your Luna. Haven't you seen it? He marked someone else" I yelled. She flinched and moved back.
I turned my face to the other side and that's when my eyes went to the mirror. Tears rolled from my eyes seeing myself and his mark on my shoulder.
"I got ready in this floral pink gown for him, for our moment, and what he did? He chose someone else" I wiped my tears and took a deep breath.
"Please get me a dress of my size to wear. I'm feeling suffocated in this gown" I said.
"Give me some time Luna," She said. I clutched my gown in my fist because of the pain and anger, I was getting after hearing the word "Luna"
Sia went outside the room. I was gazing at myself in the mirror and his marks.
"If he breaks the mate bond by marking someone else then why am I not feeling any physical pain... Maybe because Maya is not with me." I mumbled to myself and sat on the ground. Tears were continuously flowing down from my eyes.
After a while, I heard the knock on the door. I looked at Sia standing there with a dress. I extended my hand and she handed over the dress to me.
"Thank you for your help... now you can leave" I mumbled, wiping my tears.
"Do you need something else?" She asked me and I can sense that she is worried for me.
"No... please leave me alone and yes please close the door while leaving"
Sia nods her head and leaves the room, closing the door. I took a deep breath and wiped my tears.
I stood up with the help of the bed and went to the washroom and open the shower tab and stood under the water,
ignoring the broken pieces of glass on the floor. I felt immense pain when I unknowingly kept my foot on the glass but the pain which I'm feeling because of his betrayal is much more than this physical pain.
I switched off the tab when I started shivering because of the cold water and wore the dress that Sia gave me. I came outside the washroom. That's when my eyes went to the door and I was startled to see the person in front of me.
