They arrived at the hospital and the nurse took Nora to the ward to examine her while Diego waited outside. "When last did you come for anti-natal?" the nurse asked.
"It's been a while."
"Two months?" The nurse asked.
"A month ago."
The nurse gave a look of disapproval. "The anti-natal care is very important and that is why it is advised that every pregnant woman must attend."
"I know. I just have a lot going on in my life right now."
"And are those things more important that the life of the baby you are carrying in your womb?" Nora was silent. "How are you feeling now?"
"I feel a lot better now. But earlier, there was a sharp pain I felt in my stomach,"
"Have you been stressing yourself up lately?" Nora thought about how Michael's issues has been a worry to her. "Do you think too much?" The nurse asked but Nora didn't say a word. "I would advice that you take a lot of rest and leave all your worries behind. This can be dangerous to your health and the baby's health. I would tell the doctor about your condition and he will administer some drugs to you, please Miss Nora, take good care of yourself. Your health comes first before any other thing."
"Thanks Nurse Khloe." She said.
"You can get some rest now."
Nora laid down on her bed and the nurse left.
Diego met with the nurse to ask about her well being. "How is she doing?"
"She is okay and the baby is fine too. Does Miss Nora stress herself up alot? If she does, I will advise that she takes a lot of rest without doing any strenous work. Also, her mental health is quite important too. She should be happy at all times. Let her think less or don't let her fall into depression of any sort. The health of the mother is what will determine the health of the baby. Make sure she eats and take a lot of fruits and water. I will be back with the drugs so that it can help her."
"Thank you so much, nurse."
"Just doing my job. And you can go to see her now but please don't stress her." The nurse said before she took her leave.
Diego was about to enter the ward when he heard a voice call his name. He turned and saw Kelvin and Michael.
"Hi, how is she doing?" Kelvin asked.
"Did something happen to her?" Michael asked.
"She was complaining of stomach ache so we rushed her to the hospital but the nurse said it's nothing serious that she needs all the rest she can get."
Kelvin was relieved that there wasn't anything he should be worried about.
Diego checked his wrist watch. "Is it almost time for your flight?" Kelvin asked and he nodded.
"I was going to say goodbye to her before you called me but I don't think I can do that now."
"It's fine. I will tell her. Let me know when you get to San Franscico." Kelvin hugged him.
"I will." Deigo turned to face Michael and warned him. "If you dare hurt her again, I swear, you will pay for it with your life."
Michael smiled. "I don't intend to hurt her. I have caused her enough pain already all I want to do now is make her happy."
"I will take your actions for it." Diego told him before bading Kelvin goodbye and leaving the hospital.
Kelvin was about to open the door when Michael held his hand. "Kev, listen... I appreciate everything you've done for Nora and I know how much you love her but I really do love her. I am sorry that..."
"Just keep your words to your Mike. One thing I want you to know is that I don't trust you." And with that, he opened the door and entered the room.
Nora was surprised to see that Diego wasn't with them. "Where is Diego?" she asked.
"He had a flight to catch up with. He had to leave early but he sends his regards to you."
"He didn't even care to say goodbye to me?" Nora said.
Kelvin walked up to her and reminded her of what the nurse's said. "You shouldn't be sad or anything, I am sure the nurse warned you about it." Nora nodded. "How do you feel?"
"I feel fine." She answered. She looked up at Michael and she noticed how skinny he had gotten.
Kelvin noticed that the two needed their privacy so he told Nora that he was leaving. "Michael will bring you back home, if that's okay with you."
"Where are you going?"
"I need to get something. I will call you, okay?" Kelvin stood up, pecked her forehead and left.
"Mind if I sit?" Michael asked and Nora nodded. "How are you feeling?" he asked.
"I feel okay just a bit stressed out."
Michael frowned. "I guess I must have stressed you a lot with everything, I am sorry." Nora didn't say anything but kept looking at him. She wished she could just see his true intention but she needed to be a mind reader to be able to do that. "Thanks for releasing me from the prison."
"I just did what I thought was right to do."
"Nora, do you still love me?" His question made Nora speechless. She didn't know he would ever ask her this question. What was she to reply him now? She thought. Should she tell him yes or should she wait to see his true intention before telling him the truth?
"I still love you, Nora."
"Since when?" Nora asked.
"Since the moment I saw you in Kelvin's company. The jealousy I felt, I urge of wanting you back... At first, I thought I was being selfish but I saw that I have always loved you right from the start but I was too blind to notice my own feelings and I regret ever letting you go."
"It's not going to be easy to trust you again, Michael."
"I don't intend it to be. I am willing to do all that I can to earn your trust but all I am asking is that you give me a chance to do all that."
Michael came to closer to her and he knelt down before her, "I have never done this for anyone but here I am on my knees pleading that you forgive me wholeheartedly for everything and give me a chance to love you. I want to be the man that you will spend the rest of your life with and I also..." he rubbed her stomach and looked at her. Tears rolled down her cheeks and slowly Michael got nearer to her and kissed her eyes. "...Please be mine, Nora."
Nora's eyes were locked on his. She couldn't ignore the urge to hug him so she did and Michael hugged her back and raised her from the bed. "I love you, Michael,"
"I love you too."
Michael said as he slowly went for her lips and they kissed.
