White was standing somewhere close enough to hear the conversation between the nurse and Nora's friends.
"I'd suggest she visits the hospital for anti-natal care."
"Can we be the one to share the news to her?" Diego asked.
Sara and Kelvin looked at him before returning the gaze to the nurse while they waited for her response.
"Is there a problem?"
Sara shook her head. "We just want to be the one to tell it to her."
The nurse was giving them weird looks but she didn't bother them with questions and agreed.
"I will take my leave now." the nurse left.
Sara turned to Kelvin and Diego, "Do you think we should tell her?" she asked them. Kelvin and Diego thought about it but no one was sure which would be better considering her condition. "If she finds out she is pregnant with Michael's child, she will go crazy. I didn't tell her that Michael came over, telling her she is pregnant..." Sara shook her head as she envisaged how angry, sad and disappointed Nora would be.
Nora is pregnant? White asked himself.
"I don't know how this may sound but I will suggest that we do not keep secrets from her. She'd be more hurt if she finds out the truth." Kelvin told them.
"So, you are saying we should tell her that she is pregnant? That is she is carrying the child of a man she hates so much, is that what you are saying?" Sara asked and Kelvin nodded.
"Sooner or later she'd find out. The earlier she knows the truth, the better she'd find a way around it."
Sara was still against the whole telling the truth part. She knows how Nora has been these past few days. "I don't think she can take more of this. I suggest that we keep this a secret from her just for a little while."
"I agree with Kelvin, Sara. Right now, what Nora needs her her true friends...she needs us. We can't keep covering up everything with a lie. She needs to know the truth."
"Fine, but I won't be the one to relate this to her." Sara said as she gave Diego and Kelvin a chance to choose amongst themselves who would bell the cat.
Diego looked at Kelvin but before he could say anything, Kelvin reminded them that they are not yet in good terms. "I can't be the one to tell her."
Diego raised his hands in surrender. "Fine, I will do it." He opened the door and they all went in. They were surprised to see her trying to get up. Sara quickly rushed to her side to help her up and when she did, she smiled at her.
"I thought you guys left." Nora said.
"We can't leave you here." Sara replied. "How do you feel?"
"Weak. I feel like a lot has gone of me. I was waiting for the nurse to give me the report but I didn't see her."
Sara looked at Kelvin and Diego who were also looking at her.
Nora noticed the eye movements and she looked at Sara, "Is there something I should know?" she asked her bestfriend who left her side and stood far away from her.
"I can't watch this..." she said as she tried to hold back her tears but she couldn't.
Nora was confused. "Does anyone care to tell me what the f**k is going on?"
"Um, Nora, I need you to calm down..." Diego walked closer to her and bent on one knee as he placed his hands on hers. "...Are you calm?" Nora inhaled and exhaled several times until she was sure she was calm then she nodded. "We...um...got...the nurse's report..."
"And what did it say?" Nora asked without taking her eyes off Diego.
Diego looked at Kelvin and Sara. He was checking to see if anyone had any objection but no one said anything so he went ahead to tell her the truth. "You are positive."
"Positive?" Her face showed she was confused and at the same time worried. "Positive about what? Am I HIV positive?"
"No, not that. What I mean is that...um..." Diego paused and stood up. "...I can't do this... I just can't."
Nora was getting pissed off already. What the hell were they hiding from her that they can't say to her? "Can someone explain to me what is going on before I lose my mind?"
Kelvin took it upon himself and told her the truth. "You are pregnant." Nora froze. Her eyes moved to Nora and Diego hoping they would tell her it was all a lie but no one said anything. It was when she noticed that Sara was crying that she knew Kelvin was saying the truth. "The nurse just confirmed that you are two weeks pregnant."
The tears out of nowhere rolled down her cheeks. Her mouth was left agape, she couldn't say anything.
"Nora, I am sorry," Kelvin apologized. "This is all my fault."
Nora didn't have the time to put her blame on anyone. She looked at the desk next to her and saw a fork and a knife placed in a tray. In a flash, she grabbed the knife and was about to stab herself but Kelvin rushed at her and collected the knife from her and threw it far away from her reach.
She fell down on the ground and started crying. Sara came to meet her and hugged her. She didn't stop telling her she was sorry.
"Why me?" She asked. "Why me?" She screamed. "You all should just let me die! Let me die!!!" After screaming continously, she fainted. Diego had to rush to get the nurse.
The nurse came and took over Nora, she placed her on the bed and sent everyone outside.
"This is why I told you not to tell her." Sara said.
"It is a good thing we told her so that she can go through the pain once."
"I swear to god, Michael is going to pay for this."
"The police are watching out for him." Kelvin assured.
"If they were, he wouldn't have come over to her house. Tell those freaking cops to do their jobs right."
"Let's all calm down. We need to think of what the next plan of action is. What do you think Nora would do to the child? Will you keep it or kill?" Diego asked and they all looked at eachother.
White had gotten all the information he needed. He went out of the hospital to tell Michael all he heard.
