She couldn't tell if what she was seeing was real or fake until she heard him say, "I see Kelvin was here and you both must have talked a lot for you to have that smile on your face." Nora remained mute. "Won't you ask me in or would you call the cops?"
Nora's hand remained still on the door, she wasn't even sure what she should do. She thought he left the city, why is he then in front of her? She asked.
A lump was stuck in her throat, she had to swallow hard before she could get the words out, "What are you doing here?"
Michael's eyes strodded to her stomach and he smiled, "Mind if I come in and we can talk about this?" He looked up at her. Nora didn't know why but she gestured him in but while he went to take his seat, she stood afar off with her arms folded across her chest as she waited for him to start talking.
"Can you just sit and listen to what I have to say?"
"I'd rather stand, besides, you won't be staying long."
"Okay." He took a deep breath and after that he walked closer to her.
"Don't come close to me." Nora warned and Michael stopped at the spot he was and slowly, he got down on his knees.
Nora's eyes opened in shock, "W..wh..."
"Nora, I..." he paused a little. "...I am sorry for everything I have done wrong to you. I know I am the last person you wish to see right now and I know that I don't even deserve to be here but the guilt and regret is...killing me. He walked to her with his knees. Nora didn't move an inch, she was too shocked to do anything. "I am here to ask you to forgive me. I know I am not your tears and even your anger is too precious to be wasted on me so I beg you, to forgive me and take me back."
Nora scoffed. "Forgive you that I understand but taking you back, I do not understand. I mean with everything you have done, you still have the guts to walk into my house and ask me to take you back?"
"Nora, I can't take it anymore. The pain, the pressure, the guilt...I..."
"Get out of my house Michael." She pointed at the door.
"Nora, listen to me...I..."
"Get the hell out of my house!" She went to grab her phone, "If you don't I am going to call the cops and believe me, they won't be so lenient with you."
"Nora,"
"Out!" she went to open the door for him and Michael got up on his feet. He got closer to her and he said, "I won't give up on you that easily. No matter how many times you push me away, I am going to keep coming back to you." After he said those words to her, he left her house.
In anger, Nora locked the door. She rested her back at the door and slowly fell to the ground as tears rolled down her cheeks. She had no idea why seeing him hurts her heart so much. She was supposed to be filled with rage but when she saw him apologize, her heart began to ache. She couldn't tell if her heart was aching because of the pain he has caused her or something else.

"So, how did it go?" Diego asked as they ate their dinner.
"Well, it's like you said but I am not giving up that easily." Kelvin told him as he took a bite of his desserts.
"I am not going to say I didn't you so but I told you." Diego was about to take a bite of his casserole when a thought came to him and he decided to ask Kelvin about it. "Why did you go on with the proposal knowing fully when she wouldn't accept it? I know you couldn't just have decided that on your own."
Kelvin stopped eating as he got ready to tell Michael the real reason he asked Nora to marry him. "Michael is trying to get back to her and Michael is someone that I know always get what he wants. I need to beat him at his own game. I need to win her heart first before Michael does."
"So you proposed to Nora not because you love her?"
"I do love her, do not get me wrong but I am scared that Michael might come to her with his lies and deceit and try to win her over. I just want to know that someone else is dying to have her."
"Do you think Nora would accept him?"
"Nora has a kind heart. The moment she forgives him, she opens a part of her heart for him and once she does, Michael would use that to come into her life and I won't let that happen."
"Do you think Michael has changed? let's leave the part where we both hate him like crazy and let's talk about the facts."
Kelvin nodded. "I feel he's changed and that is what scares me," he shook his head. "I feel he has a chance to win her back and I... I can't let that happen."
"You know, If Michael is changed like you said, I wouldn't mind if he ends up with Nora." Kelvin was shocked at his response. Diego noticed and before Kelvin would bombard him with questions, he explained the reason. "This could be fate bringing them together again. I know she has gone through a lot because of him but what if he is the only one that can bring back that smile on her face? What if she suffered all this for just one person and at the end, they end up together, isn't the suffering worth it?"
"Michael cause her a great harm..."
"I know and I hate him too but if he is changed and he is going back to her and not someone else, I don't see anything wrong with it besides, she is carrying his child and I don't think she is going to abort it because she is too loving to kill an innocent child. If the father of the child is willing and ready to change for her and the baby, why should we hinder him?"
Kelvin thought about all that Diego said and he could see some atom of truth in everything but would he let go that easily? What if Nora chose Michael over him, then what?
They both ate their desserts in silence.
