Ariana's POV
Dylan had set a date with Myla and had sent me home earlier than before, why was he going out with her, had he started developing feelings for her once more, I'm aware of the fact that they were once sweethearts but I don't know the entire story of how they broke up, all I know was that Myla wanted the both of them back together and now it seems as if Dylan wants to give in to her, I was such a fool for thinking that there was a slight chance that he has started developing feelings for me, my heart constricted painfully as pain clogged up my throat, how could you do this Dylan? I whispered to no one in particular as tears welled up my eyes, no, I can't continue like this, I would have a word with him when he comes back, I think I have paid up my debt to him as a slave, it's been six months since I became his slave, I think he has to let me go. I was so lost in my thoughts as I walked out of the office that I didn't see Eric until I bumped into him, I didn't say anything to him as I moved to the right but he blocked my way, I moved to the left and he did same, "get out of my way" I gritted and got his smirk in return, "do you think he can love you? From the look on your face I can see that you're very hurt about his date" his words were like daggers piercing my heart, "I don't know what you're talking about" I said trying once more to walk past him and again he blocked my path, "he can never love you, you're a witch and he's not human either, he's a werewolf and werewolves killed your mother"
"Enough" I screeched covering my ears with my hands, "I can't listen to this, I said enough"
"You can't run from your identity Ariana, you are who you are, and stop dreaming of a relationship with your master because it can never be" he rasped before stomping away, I watched him leave and embraced myself to control the shaking of my body, he has gone insane, that was the only explanation for his behavior.
I quickly flagged down a cab that will take me home, we were still a few kilometers away from home when the cab suddenly stopped and the engine couldn't start, I sighed as I got down, paid the driver, and decided to walk the remaining few kilometers home, I took the alley path because it was a shorter way of reaching home very fast, I had gone a few meters in the alley when I felt movement behind me, I turned but didn't see nobody, I increased my steps, why do I have this feeling that I was being followed, I broke into a run but out of nowhere, I felt something hit my head and my eyes swarm and I tried to steady my feet on the ground, I felt wet substance run through my face and my fingers shot up to wipe it away, I stared at my hands as my eyes widened in shock, "blood!" I gasped as I stared at the crimson on my palm, my eyes searched frantically yet I could see no one, "who are you, and what do you want from me?" I shouted, "ahh" I screamed in pain as I was hit from behind, I felt dizzy as stars danced before my eyes, another hit then another, I felt my legs gave way as my eyes darkened, I felt a hand dragged me away but I was too weak to resist as I was carried away, darkness finally overcame me as I succumb to it.
Dylan's POV
I sat heaving with impatience as I watched Myla scroll through the menu, I felt like fast-forwarding the evening, "haven't you seen what you like" I growled my voice tainted with the impatience I was feeling, "chill, what's the rush?" She pouted as she dropped the menu and eyed me, "I'll order later, first we need to talk"
"We have nothing to talk about, just place your order and let's get outta here"
"Why so impatient? Why are you rushing to get rid of me? Is it because of that ugly duckling slave of yours?"
I suddenly gripped her very tightly on her wrist and twisted it that her face twisted in pain, " I will not tolerate any insult from you, don't you ever utter anything negative about her"
"You're hurting me" what do you think you're doing? Have you lost your mind? Let me go" I could feel the color of my eyes go molten and my claws began to itch out, her eyes bulged for a moment, probably because of the anger I was radiating, I gritted my teeth as I slowly let go of her wrist, "wow lover boy, you're so in love with your slave? She scoffed rubbing her wrist, I made no reply as I folded my arms across my chest and watched her through narrowed eyes, she huffed as she noticed how serious I was, "did she even know you're a werewolf? Do you think she'll accept you when she comes to know?
"It's good to know you're trying to light back an old flame, old flame they say, never dies," a voice said from behind just as I opened my mouth to snap at her, I gritted my teeth at the very familiar voice, Alpha Chase, just when I thought I was having a bad day, just his presence had taken the bad day to another level, he joined us at our table and I banged on the table, half standing up, "have you come to see your lover?" I gibbed and he smirked, "relax, last time I took her from you, poor little boy, don't be scared, I'm not here to snatch her away again" I raised my brow at his words, "oh? Please be my guest"
"Will you both stop talking about me like I'm not here" Myla interrupted
"I see you, sweetheart, I would have snatched you again but I don't want his parents' soul to die, last time was their body because of him but this time, it might be their soul" in a flash I was holding him by the neck and I felt my veins stood at alert and blood rushed to my face, I felt my eyes changed it's color to molten and my claw dug into his skin, I watched as blood trickled out from his neck where my claws had dug, his eyes darkened in anger and I knew he was ready to bring it on, I was more than prepared for him because I knew that even though he was now the ruling alpha, I could take him down anytime and any day, his wolf was no match to mine, I felt Myla's hand on my chest as she tried to separate us, "Dylan, control yourself, this is human world, except you want to announce your identity to them and looked for a pack to join or become a rogue, you'll have to chill out" right now, I don't care who sees me in my werewolf form, I only felt like throttling Chase, letting go of his neck, I delt him a blow sending him reeling. suddenly, images of someone being dragged from a dark alley penetrated my senses, I held my head as I felt sharp shooting pains, my heart constricted painfully like I was about to lose someone so dear to me, I couldn't control the howl of pain that escaped from my mouth. the face of the person being dragged suddenly flashed in...Ariana
