Dylan's POV
I groaned as I opened my eyes, I must have fallen asleep, the room was dark and there was no sign of Damien, my mouth felt dry, I realized I was thirsty, I rolled over and tried sitting up and my gaze searched the house, I saw a shadow disthatched itself and walked towards me, "so, finally, you decided to wake up"
"Myla? I gasped in Surprise and she chuckled handing me a cup of water, "what the heck are you doing here and how did you know I was here?" My voice was raspy and felt like sandpaper but I made no move to collect the water she was offering, she was obviously enjoying my discomfort because she chuckled once more, dropping the cup of water on the table, she turned to face me, "take a chill pill, your secret is safe with me" she paused to see my reaction before adding, "at least, for now"
I frowned feigning innocent, "what do you mean by that?" She moved closer to me, so close that her breath fanned my cheeks, running a finger down my chest in a seducing manner, "I don't think you'll want silver moon pack to know that you're in their midst, most especially the Alpha"
I pushed her away from me and got up from the bed, "what are you trying to do?"
"I know you and Alpha Chase still have a history and a score to settle just as I know that this is not the right time," she walked closed to me and hooked her leg around my waist, "although I know he's no match for you" I felt her fingers drawing lines on my chest and I pushed her away and she fell on the bed, "you can do whatever you want but stay away from me" I gritted, where the hell is Damien anyway and how did she get in here?"
"It's only a few hours before the Alpha will get to know that you're here, right here in his pack and when he comes to know, you'll need me to get out of here because with your current situation, you're not in good health to fight"
"I don't need your help, now leave" I fumed, angry at her presence, "how the heck did you find out that I was here?"
"I asked that slave of yours...." My heart did a double-take at her mention of Ariana and I gripped tightly in her two arms, "You went to Ariana? How dare you, what did you do to her? If you so much as hurt a hair on her head......"
"I did absolutely nothing to her, I was only worried about you because I have not seen you in the office for the past few days, I want to your house to enquire but I saw just her, she told me a guy named Damien took you away"
"So why have you come?"
"We were paired by the moon goddess...."
"She obviously made a mistake" I snapped cutting her off, I don't wish to talk or remember the past, it was just too painful, her tone took on a teary sound, "you were once madly in love with me, why can't you forget about the past, I was stupid and naive" she held my cheeks in her palm, staring at me with tear-filled eyes, "I am really sorry, I've realized that I was wrong"
I stared at her but instead of her, my mind suddenly brought an image of large brown eyes that were always filled with sadness, I could see through the depth of those eyes and searched her soul, a pure soul, not one filled with deception. I slowly held her by her shoulders and pushed her from me, "I was madly in love with you in the past, true, but do you know why? Because I was stupid, it's too late now Myla, to seek for my love because I don't have any to give"
Her eyes narrowed on me, "you don't have any to give, or is it because you've reserved it for that stupid slave of yours"
"I don't think I owe you an explanation, do I?
The door suddenly burst open and Damien entered, he paused and frowned when he saw Myla, and his face colored with anger but made no remark on her, "The Alpha is on his way here, he must have gotten wind of your presence here" he stared at Myla meaningfully, "I was wondering how he got to know about that information but now I'm not surprised, I know exactly who told him"
I seethed from within as I stared at Myla, she glanced from me to Damien looking like a kid who had been caught with a jar of cookies, she raised her hands in defense, "hey, it's not what you think" her words sounding like a proof that she was indeed the culprit, I gritted my teeth and I knew that my eyes had changed it's color because I could feel the anger that kept welling up in me, I made a move towards her but stopped when I felt a hand on my arm, I glanced at Damien who slowly shook his head, "she's not worth it, you need to leave before Alpha Chase get here, you're not well enough to confront him"
Damien knew I and Alpha Chase together spells doom, we simply cannot stand each other and he knew the reason for that but I will not turn tail and run, I am not a coward, " I am not a bit scared of facing him, I can take him down at any time,"
"You should think of your friend you know, no doubt, you can take him down but can your friend do so? You know he won't be spared either for housing and treating you"
"You don't have to worry about me" Damien chipped in but in as much as I would like to deny it, the fact remains that Myla is right, I can't let Chase see me here, it can be anywhere but certainly not with Damien nor in his house, "thanks buddy, I won't forget this favor" relief flooded his face when he knew I was about to leave, he might not say it but I knew he wouldn't want to get into a fight with Chase, I quickly made to leave but as soon as I opened the door, an arrow suddenly got stuck on the door, missing me just by a hairline, I quickly went back in and shut the door behind me, "I can help you leave here and not implicate anyone," Myla said gripping my hand, "what do you have in mind?"
"Not so fast, I have a condition" I stared at Myla in amazement, what should I expect from her, she's not the type that can help anyone, "what's your condition?"
She smiled at her victory, "a date"
"What?" I barked, my voice resonating around the building but I didn't care, the last thing I would do was to go on a date with her, to heck with her
I was shocked at her request, "go on a date with me, deal?"
"No deal" I growled and watched as her brow furrowed
"Ain't you being ungrateful? Would you rather put your friend who had saved your life in a difficult situation than go on a date with me?
I stood still, how cunning of her, I felt throttling her, if it was just me, I could handle it, I don't care what happened to me but I cannot let another suffer for my son's.
I could hear the footsteps outside approaching the house, I was sorry I had gotten my Friend Damien into this mess, I was the one who called for his help and now, he'll suffer because of me, I can't allow that, "your time is running out, what's your decision?"
"Fine" I snapped and seethed when I heard her chuckle
"Here's the deal, grab me and make me your hostage"
"What!?"
"Don't argue just do as I say" she suddenly carried my hand and wound it around your neck just as the door opened, she screeched feigning tears, "please don't come close, he'll kill me"
"Stay back or I'll kill them both" I waved the knife I suddenly saw in my hand at both Damien and Chase's men that were coming close, I met Damien's gaze briefly conveying how sorry I was, he nodded once, telling me he understood
"You wouldn't dare" a voice suddenly boom, Alpha Chase is here, I heard his voice just a minute before I saw him, I fought the urge to pull if his heart right from his chest, my eyes narrowed into slit and I felt my wolf growled as it became restless, "he's going to kill us Alpha, please do as he says, I don't wanna die" Myla wailed, she must have sensed my struggle and she was saying that just to remind me that I needed to think of Damien
"So Dylan, what brought you to my territory, and who has been hiding you?" Chased eyes went from me to Damien
"It was my territory too and I do not need to hide from anyone"
"I came to see Damien, all of a sudden, he just jumped in from nowhere and held us hostage" Myla interfered, keeping her end of the bargain in trying to prevent Damien from being suspected, she had just declared herself Damien's Alibi, she had been here with him alone before I suddenly came in, Chase looked trapped and not a bit pleased with Myla but he couldn't do anything now, she had declared Damien innocent in from of everyone, I moved forward, using her as my shield, "we are your pack members, your subject and it's your duty to protect us, please just do as he says, I don't want to die, save me" Myla wailed rendering Chase handicap in doing anything, I came out of the house, using her as my shield until we got to the boundary between the human world and silver moon pack before I finally let go of her, I greatly hope that this little charade of ours will keep Damien out of any sort of trouble
"Well, I kept my own end of the bargain, now it's your turn" I stared at Myla for a moment, not wanting to go on any damn date with her but I had already given her my word, so I had to honor it, "tomorrow, 10, o, clock, be ready" she smiled as she walked away.
"I tried to teleport but I couldn't instead I felt a sharp pain in my chest and I coughed in pain, spurting out blood.
Myla's POV
I smiled as I sashayed away from Dylan, I had him just where I wanted him, I had managed to fix a date with him, I'll rekindle our old flame, like the saying goes, "old spark never dies" he'll definitely be mine, I wouldn't let anyone come between us, most especially that slave, I'll do whatever it takes to make him mine, I can go to any extreme even if it means killing off someone.
