"I beg your Pardon," Sonia said immediately.
"What did you just say?" Kyle's Dad asked sounding surprised, as he looked from Kyle to his wife again.
"You heard me, right Mum, you all heard me, if Sonia did not put something in my drink that day because she wanted me to sleep with her, I would never have done what I did to Kimberly," Kyle said again glaring at Sonia, who looked at him angrily.
"Excuse me?" I asked facing Kyle immediately, unable to believe him, "did you say it was because you were drugged?" I asked him again immediately.
"Yes, Kimberly, I was drugged," he said to me.
"Liar..." I yelled at him, "Look, Kyle, you can deceive everyone in this room but you certainly cannot deceive me," I told him angrily, I know that I hate Sonia right now but as much as I do, I cannot let her take a fall for what Kyle did like this, I wonder why he is putting the blame on her anyway.
"You hear that? Do you all heat that?" Sonia said immediately pointing at me.
"You drugged me Sonia, and you know it, it was as a result of what you did that led me to do what I did to Kimberly," Kyle added.
"Stop it, Kyle," I yelled at him again, "Did Sonia also tell those men to kidnap me from the stage?" I asked him again angrily.
"Wait, what?" Kyle asked his facial expression turning pale immediately.
"Did I hear you say kidnap?" Kyle's Mum asked trying to get up from where she is seated.
"Sit down Mum, please," Brian said, helping his mum sit down again, I think the news is too much for her to handle.
"What is this woman talking about again, Kyle?" Kyle's Dad asked in a more deeper voice than before.
"That, Kimberly, is a misunderstanding even I am unable to understand up until now," Kyle said in a near trembling voice to my surprise.
"What are you trying to say to me right now?" I asked him furiously.
"Look, Kimberly, as untrue as this may sound to you, but you got to believe me, that day I had gone to see you at your school contest, no, I had wanted to see you perform after overhearing you and your friend here chat happily about it on your way back from school, I still remember the date, Kimberly," he told me, pointing at Vicky.
"No way..." I muttered to myself, finding it hard to believe him.
"It's the truth, Kimberly, I got ready that day to go and see you when Sonia suddenly showed up uninvited and whining about how unhappy she is, how her life sucked and all of that, pleading with me to stay with her, even after I told her that I have a place I need to be which was so important to me, "Kyle explained and paused and turned towards Sonia.
"But then, after a while, she told me she gave up and that I will be allowed to go wherever I wanted on the condition that I drink with her, I accepted the drinks quickly without thinking because I need to go and see you perform before I miss it, I did miss it though, because I arrived there at the very time the operation was taking place even after driving so fast despite feeling like I am not alright." He said like he mean it and paused again, and I feel like he is saying the truth all of a sudden even if I still find it hard to believe.
"What are you going to say next, Mr Kyle?" I asked him, "are you going to say you went and rescued me like some super hero?" I asked immediately too without thinking.
Kyle scoffed a bit and looked around to the room to see the other faces staring at him, I guess, "as crazy as this may sound, yes, I saved you from those guys Kimberly, I did," he replied.
"Oh please..." I told him bitterly, I know it is impossible for him to fight those men and rescue me that day, who the heck is he? Super man? I asked within me.
"It is true, Kimberly, I followed the men who took you in their Van without thinking, and then went ahead of them and intercepted them without thinking it through as well because what I wanted to do was get you from them, they never saw me coming so they went and crashed on the side of the road, the crash was bad I guess because they were weak, that is how I was able to fight them off, despite not being strong enough," he said.
"Come on you can ask my family, I am well trained in martial art, Dad does not want his sons to be unprepared in case the need arises," he told me when I shoot him a doubting look.
"And when I got the opportunity I took you in my car and drove off as fast as I could away from those men and the only place I thought of bringing you at that moment was one of my dad's hotels," he continues afterwards.
"Is that what happened to the car then?" Brian asked him, baffled I guess.
"Yes, Brian," he replied him and glancing at him.
"Oh my goodness!" Kyle's Dad exclaimed, glancing at his wife.
"I do not believe you," I told him glancing at Vicky and Jimmy who stood there looking speechless, even though I think he is saying the truth...
"You got to believe me, Kimberly, I was carried away by my feelings for you, that is why I could not control myself then, what do you think? That I sent those men to kidnap you so that I can rap you?" He asked.
"Yes, Mr, Kyle, that is what my friend here thinks," Vicky told him before I could reply.
"I am surprised you feel this way, I mean, you should 7remember something, especially the part where I took you away from your kidnappers because you said thank you to me and told me that I am your hero," Kyle told me to my surprise.
"What?" I asked baffled at what he just said, "how can I not remember that?" I asked out loud feeling confused, and now that he mentioned it, I think something like that happened but I am not sure.
"I am sorry Kimberly, but as of today, I am glad it was with you and not with Sonia because that is what she wanted to happen between us, and had I not left immediately the way I did after the drink, she would have succeeded in her plan that day," Kyle said to me and I do not know what or how to feel right now.
"Stop saying nonsense, Kyle, it is not true what you have said, I did not drug you," Sonia shouted at Kyle in self-defence, although she is looking like she feels on edge.
"Look Mum, it is not true, Kyle is just making that up," Sonia turned to explain to Kyle's Mum as she just stared at her, I guess she is finding it hard to believe as I am, and I think Kyle's Dad too is finding it hard to believe, only Brian and the lady with him looked at her differently almost like they believe what Kyle said about her.
"I am speaking the truth, Mum, Dad..." Kyle said.
"Shut up, Kyle stop saying that, I know you do not like me but please do not lie to Mum and Dad about me," Sonia said angrily and almost tearfully to Kyle.
I wonder what drama is going on here, I mean, I thought these two loved each other, at least that is what they made me believe, I looked from Vicky to Jimmy and they looked surprised as well.
"What are you talking about, Kyle?" Brian asked Kyle rather calmly, "Are you sure you were drugged?" Brain asked him again in a calm manner.
"Yes, Kyle, how did you know Sonia drugged you?" Kyle's Dad asked him too, "do you have proof of this?" He added.
"I do not have any proof Dad but I confronted Sonia about it and she told me she did it herself, in fact, she said she waited for me all night in my room but I didn't show up, that is how I knew she was the one and when I asked her about it she did not deny it," Kyle replied his Dad.
"You see that Dad, he is lying, that is why he does not have any proof to back up his statement," Sonia said on top of her voice.
"Stop lying, Sonia," Kyle told her immediately too with his voice raised high.
"Why are you doing this to me, Kyle?" Sonia asked him almost tearfully that I almost felt sorry for her, "my only crime here is loving you, why are you telling such a lie about me?" Sonia said and asked Kyle again still in that tearful tone.
"Love? Did I hear you say, love?" Kyle asked him angrily, with his brows furrowed at her.
"Yes, Kyle, love, I have done nothing but love you and this is how you repay me?" She replied and asked him sharply, sounding heartbroken.
"Oh, stop it, Sonia," Kyle brawled at her.
"Stop it both of you," Kyle's Mum shouted at them, "Stop saying nonsense, Kyle, Sonia loves you, I have seen it myself, and I know she is going to make a good wife for you..."
