Kyle Greenwood’s POV
"What was that about earlier, Kyle?" Kimberly asked after her friend Vicky walked back into my room leaving the two of us standing outside my room.
"What about?" I asked in return pretending not to know what she is talking about even though I think I know what she is referring to, I wonder what she and her friend talked about though, I had the urge to eavesdrop on their conversation earlier but I stopped myself knowing it is not a nice thing to do, and also I have a feeling that they talked about me, it makes me feel a little nervous though because I do not know if it is in my favour or against me...
"You know what I am talking about, Kyle, so please let's not pretend that you do not know," Kimberly told me holding her hand under her breast with her eyes glaring at me I think.
"I'm sorry, Kimberly," I said not knowing what to say because I do not want to see her angry at me and I am thinking of a way to communicate properly with her without us arguing or getting into a fight.
"Look, Kimberly, I am sorry if I offended you, no I am sorry for offending you... you know what I mean," I said referring to the past because I feel the need to apologise properly to her and personally too, " or, if I said something wrong in there, I am sorry for that as well," I said again lifting my hand to demonstrate.
"But you should know that I meant what I said on there, I mean, if you will give me a chance..."
"Give you a chance to do what, Mr Kyle?" Kimberly asked, interrupting me, "what exactly do you want me to give you the chance for?" she asked again sounding like she is mad or something and continues immediately, I guess she does not want me to give her a reply.
"I see that you have gotten to my kids, Kyle, and I want to believe that what your family said about you being a nice man is true, so I would like to give you a chance to be with Alex and Sandra... I want to give you a chance to be their dad, but that is all I think I am going to do, so please do not assume anything from me, and do not expect a thing from me either," Kimberly told me rather slowly this time
I just stared at her trying to figure out what to say next after her statement, feeling a little scared this time, and I am wondering if that is what she and her friend Vicky talked about, how am I going to tell her that I still love her and would love for her to be my wife? I asked within me, maybe I should talk to her friend Vicky about it, maybe she will help me to talk to her friend, maybe she may listen to her...
"What are you thinking about now, Kyle?" She asked drawing me out of my thought after staring at me for a while I guess, and without waiting for me to reply to her she said, "I think we are done here, let us go back inside, they may be assuming things already," after that she gestured for us to go back inside.
"No, hold on, Kimberly," I said stopping her, "look, I did not plan for things to go this way, I mean, I have always loved you and I still love you..."
"Please just come off it, Kyle," she said lifting her hand to stop me from speaking further, I think she does not want to hear whatever it is I wanted to say to her, or she probably feels irritated by what I just said to her because of the look on her face when she said the word Please '.
"It is time for us to go back inside, Kyle, let us not go into this, I do not want to hear this now," Kimberly said interrupting me again by lifting her hand to stop me from speaking when I tried to speak again, "I am going back to my kids now, Kyle," she said and turns to go back into my room.
"I mean it, Kimberly," I said almost immediately after she turns to leave, and this made her and to turn towards me again.
"I love you... No, I have always loved you, Kimberly," I continued without waiting for her to speak, I just feel the need to tell her how I feel about her, hoping that she would change her mind after hearing that.
"I still love you, Kimberly, and whatever happened between us, I already explained it, it was a misunderstanding believe me..."
"I believe you, Mr Kyle," Kimberly said again interrupting me, I would have been glad when she said she believed me but hearing her refer to me as Mr Kyle multiple times already did not sound good to me.
"I think I do believe you, what you said earlier about all this being a misunderstanding, but marrying you, is not what I bargained for when coming here... I came here to get my kids back from you and your family, and not to marry you," Kimberly told me in a rather serious tone.
"Then take your kids and leave," a familiar voice said before I could say anything...
