Kimberly Brown's POV
"Which one among them is the lady?" A man who I presume is Kyle's Dad asked referring to Kyle in an authoritative tone.
"She is the one, Dad," Kyle said pointing at me.
"Is she the one?" The woman next to Kyle's Dad asked and I remembered this woman, she was the one that spoke to me rudely before at the hospital where Alex was admitted.
"Yes, Mum, you remember her right?" Sonia said and asked, staring at me.
"Yes, I do, who would have thought that a woman like her would bear my grandchildren," Kyle's Mum replied looking at me all over again, I wonder what she's thinking right now.
"Have you two met before?" Kyle's Dad asked referring to Kyle's mum.
"Yes, honey, we have, we met before at the hospital, it was her son who Kyle had the accident with," Kyle's mum replied.
"My grandson?" Kyle's Dad asked.
"Yes, honey," Kyle's Mum replied.
"Oh, I see," Kyle's Dad said, "Is this how you were able to find out about your son?" Kyle's Dad asked referring to Kyle again but his eyes are still on me, scrutinizing me, I think.
"Yes, Dad," Kyle replied with a nod.
"And who are the people next to him?" Kyle's Dad asked again referring to Jimmy and Vicky who are standing by my side.
"They are her friends, Dad," Kyle replied.
"You mean, her accomplice..." Sonia said spitefully.
"Accomplice in what, Sonia?" Kyle's Dad asked almost immediately looking at Sonia.
"They all helped her to seduce my Kyle, Dad," Sonia replied.
"Oh, Stop it, Sonia," Kyle said immediately.
I turned to look at him wondering why he spoke to her like that, they were having a conversation earlier and they looked quite happy.
"That's enough," Kyle's Mum said when Kyle wanted to say more, "we are not here for this," she added looking from Sonia to Kyle, "remember, darling, we are preparing for your wedding, so please do not allow petty things like this ruin your wedding with my son," Kyle's mum told Sonia, trying to calm her down I guess.
"Petty things, Mum?" Sonia asked sounding angry, "You call my fiancé having kids with another woman petty?" Sonia asked Kyle's Mum again angrily.
What is she trying to do? I asked within me staring at Sonia angrily, she was chatting with Kyle earlier and she was smiling too, what is wrong with these two people? I asked within me again, well whatever it is, is not my concern I told myself, what I do not appreciate is them referring to me and my kids as petty.
"Get a hold of yourself, Sonia, we are going to sort this out," Kyle's Dad told her.
I stared at Kyle's Mum with a heavy heart, angry at her too for her choice of words, but I think I am more angry at Sonia right now, I cannot believe that she is acting like this, what a two-faced b*tch...
"And Sonia, I agree with my wife, you should not allow petty things get in your way to achieving your goal especially when it makes you happy," Kyle's Dad added.
The words came again, but from the mouth of Kyle's Dad, how narrow-minded can they be? I asked within me unable to hold back my anger.
"Excuse me, Sir, Ma'am," I said angrily looking from Kyle's Dad to his Mum.
"Get a hold of yourself, Kim," Vicky who is standing very close to me whispered into my ears, I guess she can see how angry I am and knows that whatever I am about to say will not be good.
"I heard you both refer to me and my kids as petty," I said ignoring Vicky's gesture for me not to speak further.
"Excuse me?" Sonia snapped at me, "you dare open your mouth to speak when you are not asked to?" Sonia asked me spitefully.
"I was not talking to you, Sonia," I snapped at her too.
"Excuse me, young lady," Kyle's Dad said referring to me, "Do you realize that you are talking to my daughter in law, and you are in my presence as well," Kyle's Dad said to me.
"She is not my wife yet, Dad," Kyle reminded his Dad.
"Rightly said, Kyle," Vicky muttered enough for me to hear her, I gave her a brief stare and turned again to face Kyle's parents, I wonder why Vicky is letting herself be deceived by Kyle.
"Well, she is going to be in less than a month, Kyle," his Mum told him after a while and gave me a wild stare.
"Well, to the business of why I called you here, young lady," Kyle's Dad said again, after a short silence referring to me, "I am glad you have your friends with you so that I know that you have a life of your own too, and they would serve as witnesses to what I have to say now to you and advise you accordingly," Kyle's Dad said and without wasting time he continues.
"I asked that you come here because your kids wanted to see you, and I am made to understand that you were admitted in the hospital..., I was told by my son Kyle that you were admitted because of shock which happened after your kids were taken from you, but I do not how true that was anyway," he said and stared at Kyle for a while and then, back at me.
"I do not know also if my son, Kyle told you about my decision or not but I am going to say it again so that you can hear it directly from me," he said and paused, I stared at him waiting patiently to hear what he is going to say to me even though I already have a clue on what he is going to say.
"I told my son, Kyle, that if your kids turn out to be that of Kyle, then I will not let you have them anymore because I would not want my grandkids growing up away from my home," he said and at this point, my whole body wants to scream out and curse the tongue with which he said those words.
"...and if your kids insist on having you around, I will offer you to serve as their nanny for the time being, until they are able to understand things as they are because I do not want them to suffer as a result of my decision, and do not worry, you will be rewarded accordingly..." he was saying when I could not just hold back the rage in me...
