His eyebrows and his features moved back to normal when he noticed my condition. He raised his hand to touch my cheek, but suddenly someone grabbed my wrist. I turned to see Nikolai. His face radiated fury, his clenched jaw, furrowed eyebrows, and his grip on my hand.
I glanced back at Enzo, he was staring at our hands and his jaw clenched. Gritting his teeth, "leave!" He said. I tried to get my hand out of Nikolai's hold, but his grip was hard.
In the gap, George tried to get up but both Nikolai and Enzo pulled their guns out and pointed at him. I was standing in between them, scared and my body shaking terribly. Enzo was pointing the gun at George with his left hand and Nikolai with his right.
Turning to me, Enzo took my hand in his and pulled me to him. But Nikolai didn't leave my hand. Enzo glared at him and said, "Leave Vasiliev!" He said in a low and dangerous voice.
"She's coming with me,!" He said, holding my wrist firmly. In just swift motion, Enzo's gun was pointing at Nikolai and Nikolai's to him. All the bodyguards of Enzo were pointing their guns to Nikolai's men.
I quickly turned to Enzo; my heart was beating rapidly against my ribcage. I looked into his eyes and pulled my hand out of his grip. "You don't have any right to touch me!" Tears were rolling in my eyes as I turned my back to him and lowered my head. Nikolai took hold of my hand and pulled me with him. I walked behind him quietly, my head automatically turned back and looked at him. Tears started to roll down my cheeks as I registered his defeated face. Hurt and pain were evident in his eyes.

While everyone was silent in the car, I was silently crying my lungs out. I hate it, I hate everything that's happening with me. Even though I want to go with him so badly but I can't. The image of him with that woman was still fresh in my mind.
I love him but it hurts, it hurts to accept the fact that he moved on with another woman even though I was still his wife. This might be a forced contract marriage but the feelings and vows were true. They weren't fake.
The car stopped in front of a skyscraper, Everyone stepped out of the car and walked to the lobby. My hand was still in Nikolai's hold.
We walked towards the elevator and stepped inside. All this while my mind was blank, only his thoughts and memories occupied my mind. Nothing was making sense to me, Why did he leave me? If he wants to leave me then why did he tell me that he loves me? Why did he apologize for his mistakes?
The cheerful ding of the elevator had me snap back to reality. We were in a big, spacious living room. We stepped out of the elevator. It was a condo; I glanced at Penelope. "It's Nik's condo," she answered my unasked question. I nodded and glanced at Nikolai to see his piercing blue staring right at me. I gulped and looked away,
"come; I'll show you your room," said Penelope, I followed her behind. I climbed the stairs and walked to the room she took me to, All this while I felt his eyes on not leaving me even for a sec.
I closed the doors and took a deep breath as I shut my eyes. His furious green eyes flashed in front of me, I quickly opened my eyes and tried to calm down. I walked to my bed and was about to sit down but heard a knock on the door. I stood up and walked back to the door and opened it. Nikolai was standing there with both hands in his pockets.
"I need to talk," he said, I nodded and moved aside, letting him in.
I closed the door and stood there; he turned around with seriousness on his face.
"I'll ask only one question and I need the truth...only truth," He asked in his deep and intimidating voice.
"Okay," I said.
"The stunt you pulled in the auction...is that the plan you mentioned to me earlier," he asked, I shook my head.
"Words!" He spoke,
"N..No" I said with a shaky voice.
In just a blink of an eye, he shoved me back; my back hit the door. He was in front of me; his both hands were on either side of my head. His hot breath was on my face, his face was just mere inches from mine.
"I said...only the truth," he said gritting his teeth.
"I'm...n..not ly..lying" I shuttered, my breathing was unstable because of his closeness. My heart was beating furiously against my rib cage.
"You're lying…" he snapped, "I saw you smirking at Lorenzo...you were provoking him," he said, gritting his teeth.
I gulped and tried to defend myself, but my voice was stuck in my throat.
"Why? Do you know how dangerous it could be..dancing with a stranger...he could have taken advantage of you" when he said the last part I sensed concern. It made me look into his eyes; I can clearly see the concern for me in his eyes.
His beautiful blue eyes were showing the concern he has for me. I felt something I never felt before. Before I could think I grabbed his face with my both hands and kissed him. He responded with the same intensity.
His lips are so soft and warm. He tasted like November, like hot chocolate on stormy evenings and crisp autumn air. His warm lips were gentle, He placed his hand on my waist and drew me closer, deepening the kiss. I drew my tongue over his teeth and swallowed his groan of pleasure. My eyes fell closed, and all I could feel was him. His hands moved to my butt and lifted me up, and I quickly wrapped my legs around his waist.
He was devouring every corner of my mouth, my hands were gripping his hair pushing him into me. All of sudden, he removed his hands around me and moved back. I fell flat on the ground. I glanced up at him; what I saw in his eyes broke my heart a million pieces. I see regret in his eyes and the way his hands were pushing his back, his body language clearly says he regrets it.
Tears started rolling in my eyes, I tried to control my tears and slowly stood up.
"Yo...you're not a rebound," I said while controlling, not crying in front of him.
I didn't look at when I said this, My eyes were on the ground. I don't want to look him in the eye and get hurt all over again. I felt him take a step towards me, and I moved back.
"I think you should...le..leave," I said.
He slowly walked outside of my room, Without raising my head up, I walked to the door and shut it on his face.
I leaned my back to the door and let myself drop down on the floor. I pulled my legs to my chest and wrapped my hands around my legs and let my tears flow freely from my eyes. I sobbed I let my sorrow, hurt, pain, and all those things Enzo did wash all over me. The image of him walking inside with her and the lipstick on the lips started flashing over and over again. I shut my eyes tightly to make the images stop flashing but it didn't stop.
I opened my eyes to let it all out and my eyes caught up the sight of a knife lying on the table.
