I walked towards Alexander who is still sitting in his chair calmly. "Please " I pleaded as Alex stood up again, his expressions turning all serious. "They need help."
"It's not my business. There is nothing in it for me. " He said coldly.
"Please, I'm not asking you Alex, I'm begging you," I said lowly, gripping his shirt even tighter, looking up to meet his
cold, piercing gaze." Please, I would do anything, I swear." I begged harder, hugging him tightly. "Please.." I sobbed but froze when he hugged me back.
"Fine, now stop crying," Alex said while I saw David looks at me worriedly,
Alex then turned towards the others in the dining table. "We're leaving now, If I find out that you tried to escape while we were gone" Alex paused to look down at me as he gripped my wrists before ripping my hands away from his shirt roughly. " You will be a vampire. " He walked away
"Unbelievable." Kristen hiss, bolting up from her seat and marching towards her room. Hanna and Diana followed her. Now it's just me and Elena in the room alone.
"Your school will be fine now. The Ivanov's are the strongest of their kind, there is no way they're going to lose." Elena told me and went to her room.
"Hello, Katarina." his voice was awfully familiar and my eyes widened when I realized it was the same guy I had met on
the ceremony night. He was the one who told me to use Alex as an escape route. Not that it worked.
"What are you doing here?! And how did you get in here?!" I whispered, glancing around the room. But he chuckled softly, slipping a hand inside his pockets calmly. He wasn't wearing his hoodie tonight, revealing his messy, brown hair .
"I saw them leave." He said, walking past me . "Still, you could get us in trouble!" I hissed, grabbing his arm and he glanced at my hand before looking at me, giving me a small smile.
"The chain, did you take it off?" he asked and I stopped at his words.
"How-how do you-"
"I gave that to you, that's how." He cut in, letting out a deep chuckle and I looked at him in both fear and confusion as I
took a step back away from him.
"Oh come on, relax. I met you that night and gave it.I was just trying to help." He stated and I gave him a long look before nodding slowly. Not that i believe him.
" You don't believe me! " He faked a shock and then laughed.
" You read my thoughts. Not fair! "I sid huffing at him.
" That's why I gave you that chain. To give you some privacy. But you give it away. " He replied in a nonchalant tone. Maybe he's really trying to help.
" So I can see you're progressing in your plan of using Alex as your escape. " He said casually.
" Yeah, sure. " I replied Sarcastically.
" Oh, come on. If he doesn't like you, he wouldn't have went to save your old school. " He said causing me gasp.
" You the one who's behind it. Aren't you? "I asked him.
" Yes. I need to talk with you. So I distracted them. Nothing serious. Everyone are fine. " He replied as if it's nothing.
" You bastard! Bloody blood sucker. " I hissed at him and slapped him. He was beyond angry and pissed at me.
He caught hold off my shoulders and pushed me to the nearby wall, before he could hurt me, we heard sounds of car horns. Looks like Alex and his vampires have returned.
" Saved by a horn" He said as he let me go. " Remember to get that chain back, sweetie " He said ,his voice dangerously cold now. I could only nod.
" Oh, I forgot. My name is Terry. Terry Mendes Dopalov. " With that said, he disappeared from my eye sight.
I breathed a sigh of relief.
"Can I talk to my teacher?" I asked, rushing towards Alexander but he didn't even look at me. Instead, he responded with a quick "no" and kept walking along the hallway as I followed him.
"I already told you, they're fine." He cut me off abruptly.
"I'm just worried about them..." I murmured while playing with my fingers.
"You're driving me insane, Rina." His voice sounded surprisingly exhausted, a blush creeping on my face.
" I will call them tomorrow. " With that he shut the door at my face.
"It's late," David said in a cold tone as I walked through the dark hallway before facing him. "You should be in bed. It's not safe to roam at this time. " He stated, standing in front of me. I thought about Terry and his chain.
"Why did he give me that chain? And how was he able to enter the mansion tonight without being seen? Why would he take that risk and-"
"Hey, you okay?" David asked me pulling me away from my thoughts, reaching out and cupping the side of my cheek, causing me to flinch.
"Hunh? Y-yeah, I'm fine." I said and was about to brush his hands away when he slightly lifted my cheeks and I looked up to meet his icy blue eyes.
"Are you really okay?" he asked softly, his eyes looking into mine.
"No, I'm scared and confused because I saw him tonight." I blabbered out the truth and my eyes widened when I realized I was under his compulsion now. Ignoring him, I started walking back to my room, my heart beats faster than ever. How could he just do that?! My thoughts are supposed to be mine. How could he just invade them like it's nothing?
"Wait, what do you mean?" He demanded, grabbing my wrist.
"Nothing, I'm talking about Alex." I let out the first lie that came on my head and I saw something flash in his eyes.
"You're lying-"
"I want my chain back, can you get it?" I asked him . David gave me another look before grabbing my hands and dragging me along with him.
"Stop, where are we going?" I questioned, my heart beats loudly when we came to Alex's room.
"If you want it, then get it back." He said with the gritted teeth. I was about to say something when he disappeared from my sight. What was his problem anyways?
I turned to knock at Alex's door but paused to think for a moment. Do I really need it?
"Of course I need to protect myself from them." I said at myself and was about to knock on the door when it flew open and Alex stood there shirtless while holding a towel.
"What do you want?" he asked, placing the towel on his shoulders. "I could hear your heartbeat from a mile away, it's annoying." He hissed as I give him a weak smile.
"I wanted to ask you something." I said softly and he gave me a look before opening the door. I walked inside, awkwardly standing in front of him as I play with my fingers.
"What do you want now?" He asked while opening a huge black wardrobe and was about to grab something when I spoke.
"I was wondering if I could have my chain back.." I mumbled, taking a step back as Alex closed the wardrobe and walked towards me.
"And why? , may I ask?" he asked as he put on blue v neck to shirt that went really well with his black joggers.
"I-I just want it back." I replied in a whisper, regretting why I asked for it in the first place. Of course he was going to suspect me now!
"So, Did you remember what happened that night?" Alex asked, reaching into his pockets and taking out the chain. Is He really carries it around 24/7?
"I don't remember. I need it to protect my privacy ." I mumbled and he let out a dark chuckle before slipping the chain back inside his pockets.
"You," he started to take a step towards me and I took a step back, feeling intimidated by his presence already. "Can't fool ," he took a step forward and I backed away before bumping against the nearest wall leaving me caught at the hands of rude guy. Oh, no.
"Me! ." He finished, closing in and I could literally feel the heat radiating off from his body.
