*Next day*
I opened my eyes with great difficulty,looking up at the ceiling . My head felt like someone was banging on it with a stick. God, I am not going to drink again.
“shit." I groaned with my hands on my head, sitting up from the bed as I looked around. I was confused as I was in my room.
“Awake, I see.” Alexander's voice made me gasp . I turned to look at him. He was looking at me with his signature cold glare.
“What happened? How come I am here? " I asked him. He gave me a long look as if analysing me.
"You don't remember anything?" he asked before walking towards me. “You don't remember what you did last night?" he detailed himself on what he implying here, I was about to say something when memories from last night came crashing in my mind, causing my jaws to hung open. I-I got drunk?!
"About that." I covered my face with my hands trying to remember clearly.
“Don't you remember throwing up all over my shirt?" he asked angrily . I froze as fear engulf me . I stood up from the bed and walked over to him to apologize .
“just lay down” He muttered in annoyance. I bit my bottom lip in silence. Whenever I nervous, I used to bite my bottom lip.
"Exactly What do you remember?" he asked me again . My cheeks burn red as I flushed remembering me dancing with him flashed in my mind.
“I I remember dancing with you,that's it." I trailed off as he raised a brow, before rolling up his sleeves to reveal his tattoos.
“What else do you remember?" he asked softly and I shook my head.
“That's it.I don't remember throwing up on you or anything that happened later. I am sorry, ok. I was drunk." I murmured as he stood there silently for a while before walking up to me. He lifted my chin up, then with his pen he pulled out the chain from my neck inside my t shirt.
"This," Alexander paused, his voice turning cold and serious. "Who gave this to you?" he asked while looking at me intently. My mind went completely blank at his words as I stared at the chain in confusion. It was a silver chain with a medium triangle shaped green emerald stone attached as a dollar in it. I stared at it in awe. It's really beautiful. Where did I even get it?
"answer me," Alexander asked pulling me out of my thoughts. I rubbed both sides of my head up trying to remember something. But no. "Who gave it to you?" he asked again and I shrugged in confusion.
"I don't remember..."
What the hell? Why I can't remember anything. How did it end up with me? I pondered for a while. But nothing came back to my memory.
“Alex, I don't remember really. I promise. You have to trust me in this. Besides it's just a chain." I said for the nth time but he simply narrowed his eyes at me. his
eyebrows slightly raising up at my response . It's clear that he thinks it a lie.
“That chain, take it off now." He said as I frowned at him before looking at the chain in confusion. Why is he getting so worked up over this cheap thing? He's been asking me about this chain the whole day. He hasn't finished yet.
“Why?" I questioned and Alex hissed before shooting me a glare.
"It's not ordinary chain, Rina. It has a spell of a witch and it protects you from getting forced ." he said finally. My eyes widen in disbelief. “But I know you already knew that when you received it, didn't you barbie?" He accused in an irritated tone. I shook my head in protest, sitting up on my bed.
“I swear-"
“anyway, I want you to take it off." He muttered,stopping me off. I sighed and moved towards him “Take it". I said in frustration . He's annoying as hell. After getting rid of it, maybe he will let me be in peace. He hasn't moved an inch .
I looked up at him as he furrowed his eyebrows even tighter which bothered me because I was only following what he asked me to do. So, I don't know why he has to act like he's irritated or annoyed.
“Don't you think I would have done it if I could?" he slightly raised his voice and I blinked in confusion before it hit me. Oh, yeah. he can't take it off by himself.
“I'll give it only if " I trailed off, touching the chain while biting my bottom lip nervously. “you return my bracelet." I replied. Alexander slightly flinch at my words before he reach into his pockets, taking it out and tangling it in his fingers.
“Fine." He said and within seconds,i removed the silver chain, handing it to him and was about to take my necklace when he took hold of my cheeks, his face leaning closer to mine “Next time, there won't be any exchange. " He said coldly, letting go of his grip on my cheeks and throwed the bracelet on the bed as I exhaled deeply. That was a close call.
Strangely that night, I tossed and turned on my bed but unable to fall asleep. With a deep sigh, I threw off my blanket and jumped off the bed and walked out of my room. Why can't I just go to sleep tonight?
“Maybe I can grab something to eat." I said to myself as my stomach rumbled before walking through the hallway but it wasn't long before Danny appeared in front of me, stopping me. I gasped and was about to take a step back when he grabbed my waist, pulling me closer towards him, causing me to roll my eyes.
“What do you want?" I asked, looking up to meet his black eyes before stopping him getting closer than he already was.
"Where're you wandering about, darling?" he asked and I went silent for a few seconds before huffing in annoyance.
"I was going to eat when you suddenly showed up.” I responded, giving him a small push . He went a step back, a small smirk forming on his lips. “What?" I questioned and he leaned against the wall with an evil grin.
“Ah, so you're going to join us tonight?" he asked, taking a step forward as I shook my head. "Why not?" he asked, taking a few more steps forward and out of instinct, I took not one, but five steps back before bumping against the wall. Bad move, because he had me trapped in between his hands. I held back the urge to scream as I knew it was no use.
"I'm just hungry, Danny. Let me go " I mustered up the courage to say and he leaned his face closer as I tried to find a way to slip past him.
"So am I.” he mumbled weakly . When I was about to say something, a familiar voice interrupted us, causing Danny to
take a step back almost instantly.
“Katarina, come here." David called and I quickly rushed up to him, glancing back at Danny, who was now giving us
a serious look. I've got to give some points for David, he's always saving my ass from situations like these. I went with him , struggling to breathe normally. David cleared his throat as we reached downstairs.
"It's so dark in here." I stated, looking around the dark place and sighed in relief when I noticed the dim light
above us.
“Why aren't you asleep?" David questioned, turning around and giving me a serious look. “It's not safe." He added and I groaned before sitting down on the last step of the stairs.
"I couldn't sleep. I don't know why," I responded . Then he went to the kitchen and after a few minutes, he returned with food tray and give me to eat. He sat down next to me, his blue eyes gleaming inside the darkness and I tried my best to avoid making eye contact. “Can I ask you something?" I asked to which he nodded his head, turning to face me.
That's when it struck me. Those blue eyes. It belong to the vampires of the people who are either powerful or crazy. That means the guy I searched for valentines day is vampire. I am shocked to the core.
