Sydney Marin Chapter 97

Sydney’s POV: I spotted a single hammer on the left side. I lifted it and looked at the mirror. “I think we should not break it. That will release all the souls in this room. Do you think this is a good idea?” Grandpa asked her. “This is the only thing we can do. Do you have any better idea?” Grandma asked him. I stood with the hammer, letting them decide something. Suddenly, an unknown voice rang in my ears. “This is a good idea. Do it. I will have my revenge on Lilith. I can’t wait for it to happen. I will make sure she will end up dead.” “Who’s that?” I asked, approached a mirror next to the mirror where my grandparents are standing. “She’s a demon. This is what I’m talking about. Releasing a soul like hers will bring a problem to Sydney. We can’t let someone harm our granddaughter.” Grandpa told sternly. She looked dangerous, evil, and hot, just like Lilith. I have zero percent of trust in her. “So, what are we supposed to do?” I asked, swinging the hammer. “Break the mirror. That’s what you need to do. Ignore them. I will have my revenge on her for everything she has done to you.” That demon tried to convince me. “How will you do that? Tell me about your plan. Then I will break the mirror.” I told her. She hesitated to say something. I’m sure she’s making up something in her mind to tell. “I’m stronger than Lilith. I will kill her if you release me. I have been here for a century. You are the only one who came here to save me.” “How will you kill her? That’s my question. You aren’t answering it.” I glared at her. Instantly, I heard Lilith’s voice and footsteps approaching the room. “Oh no. She’s here.” I jerked my head towards the front door. I don’t have much time left to do anything. “Break the mirror, Sydney. That’s the only way to end it. I will make sure the demon won’t do anything to harm you. She’s only concentrating on killing Lilith.” Grandma told. “Don’t break the mirror, Sydney. The demonwill do something worse than you can imagine. I can’t let you get in any trouble. You already had enough for this life. If you break the mirror, every soul in this room will escape. All the mirrors are interconnected. Don’t do this.” Grandpa advised. I need to follow someone’s advice. It’s grandma or grandpa. I don’t have much time left to think. I can bear the consequences later. I’m going to break the glass. “I’m sorry, Grandpa. I need to do this.” I lifted my hands and broke the mirror with all the energy and strength I got inside me. The glass shattered with a loud noise. The crack in one mirror went up and all the mirrors in the room shattered at the same time. I held my hands over my head to protect myself from getting hurt from the mirror pieces. When every single mirror shattered to pieces, I turned towards the door where Lilith was standing furiously. Her temper crossed the limit. I can see the flames around her and on her hands. But that was the last thing I saw. There’s more shrieking, screaming sound when the sound got released. Then I felt some souls enter my body. I blackened out. Jacen’s POV: We killed everyone. Every guard who tried to end our life. The whole floor is covered with blood. Kassidy and Lydia joined us. We are all safe but I have no idea where is Sydney. “We need to find Sydney. Does she tell where the hall of mirrors is located? She should have reached it.” Lydia said with all the hope and confidence. “Yeah... she told me. Follow me.” I told them and we ran again. My heart is beating faster and faster every minute. We survived after a lot of struggles. It will be for nothing if Sydney doesn’t make it alive. I know I should not be a pessimist, but I can’t change myself. I can’t overcome the fear inside me. “Stop right here,” Lydia yelled when we reached the ground floor. There’s no trace of Sydney, but Lilith is here. “You can’t kill me. I will do anything to help you. If you don’t kill me, I won’t kill you.” Lilith said to someone inside the room. Who is she talking to? There’s a lot of fear in her voice. “Uh... why do you think I’m here in this body? There’s no compromise. I will be killing you and that’s settled.” I heard Sydney’s voice on the other side. But it doesn’t sound like her. Sydney came into view slowly. A blue flame is burning in both of her hands brightly. Her eyes are shining in blue colour. There’s an evil smile on her face. She got a glimpse of us, but she looked like she didn’t know us. “She opened the hall of mirrors. Some soul must have possessed her body.” Lydia informed us. Opening this room isn’t a problem for Lilith, but also a problem for my girlfriend. How are we going to save her? “I love to see you pleading. I want more.” Sydney spoke. Her voice is so hoarse instead of her soft tone. “I don’t want to beg you. This is the last thing I expected to happen. I’m not pleading with you.” Lilith refused to surrender. She slowly stepped back until she hit the wall. “Fine. Then I’m not going to kill you. I will be draining all your power until nothing is left in your body. You will no longer be the Queen of hell. I can rule hell all by myself. Lucifer will be surprised to see that. But he won’t be coming back. He’s settled on Earth. Anyway, are you ready to surrender?”
