Sydney Marin Chapter 95

Jacen’s POV: “How dare you... Phoebe doesn’t need to get burnt like that? You are a heartless bitch!” Sydney shouted from the top of my throat. I can still hear Phoebe’s scream and Mason’s cry. It’s cruel. I can’t control Mason or assure him in this state. He’s on the floor crying so hard for losing his sister. “This is going to be your situation and everyone’s situation,” Lilith told Sydney and snapped her hands as the guards and skull men marched after us. “This isn’t good. Sydney can’t manage Lilith on her own. I need to help her.” I panicked and stepped forward instead of running away from the guards. “No, this is not the right time. If we mingle in the fight, it will destroy our whole plan. Let Sydney find the hall of mirrors. We need to run.” Noah wisely advised. We were all ready to run, but Mason was desperate. He’s not willing to run. We can’t let him stay and run. “Mason, get up. We can deal with the issue later.” I urged him. “Fine. But she’s going to die for this. Lilith’s going to die for this.” Mason wiped the tears off his face. He is grieving for his sister. The way he looks tells me how extremely he wanted to have his revenge. We started running in the halls, and the end of the hall was coming near us. We need to take a turn. “Everyone, run in a different direction,” Lydia ordered us with her loud voice. Lydia and Kassidy turned towards the left side. Noah and Amelia are running on the straightway. Mason and I turned towards the right. I know we all should be fighting right now. But after seeing that human burned alive, we are all speechless. “Stop,” I shouted, pushing Mason from taking another step. Three guards are behind us. Pamela is standing on the other side with a stake in her hand. She doesn’t even remember what happened yesterday. Still, she has a stake in her hand. Sydney told she doesn’t get time to destroy the stake. I need to save myself now. “Are you surprised to see me?” Pamela asked, followed by her ridiculous laugh. “Yeah. Iam surprised to see you in hell as a dead person. At least, I’m a Vampire who can go back to Slateville. But you are supposed to rot in hell. Poor bitch.” I smirked, showing no fear of the stake in her hand. “I may rot in hell, but you won’t be there to see it. Cause this stake is going through your heart.” Pamela charged forward while the guards came behind me to catch me. I went fast behind that guard and pulled their hearts at the same time. It’s been a long time since I killed someone with my bare hands. “Never,” I replied to Pamela with a victorious smile plastered on my face. She snarled. Then, I took a sword from one dead guard. “Come on, drive the stake through my heart if you can?” I challenged her. Meanwhile, Mason was tackling the last guard left who followed us. “This sword isn’t bringing me any fear. Iam already dead. Even if you stabbed me again, Lilith will bring me back.” She said by keeping all the belief on her. “Oh, let’s see that,” I tried to stab her while all she did was dodge from my attack. Then she grabbed the sword from the other dead guard and swayed it. “You are not good at it. Are you?” I questioned her talent in fighting with a sword. “Watch me,” she murmured under her breath, and both our swords clashed. With every move, I’m stepping back, losing my balance. She attacked constantly without giving a break to pull back the sword. At last, I lost my grip and my sword hit the floor. “It’s time for you to die.” she dropped her sword and pulled back the stake. A sword cut through her stomach when she lifted her hands. She gasped, dropping the stake without stabbing me. “I’m ready to kill anyone who’s been the reason for my sister’s permanent death,” Mason said, panting. He pulled back the sword from her body. Pamela fell to her feet. This is the temper I need from him. “Thanks. Let’s go. We need to help others.” I informed him, and we roamed over every other corridor until we spotted Noah and Amelia. “Noah, watch your back,” I yelled when I saw Dorothy sneaking behind him to drive the stake through his heart. Noah heard my warning, and he bent down. More than five guards are surrounding them. Dorothy is always powerful and cunning than Pamela. She could have killed my brother if I came a second later. Mason and I left the swords, where he killed Pamela. I charged forward towards the guards, killing them one by one. I don’t need a weapon. I killed them with my hand and fed on them. As a vampire, I rarely fed on humans. All I did was use blood bags in my life. Now, this feels so good. I think Iam addicted to blood again. Soon, my whole shirt, pant and body are covered in raw blood. When no guards left to attack us, Dorothy was the only remaining one. “Drop the stake now. Don’t make me kill you.” I warned her once. “That’s not going to happen. You may have killed the guards. But the more you kill, the more will emerge.” She told us and more than twenty guards appeared behind us. It is not going to end. “Where are they all coming from? We can’t help Sydney if we keep on killing them.” Amelia frowned. “I don’t want to run again. There must be a way to end this.” Noah silently muttered. For a second, I thought, Noah and I will lose our energy if we keep on killing them. The truth is Iam feeding on their blood. We will surely get stronger. But my girlfriend’s face comes to my mind every single second. I can’t bear it if she got burned like how Phoebe burnt on the fire. I can’t live the rest of my life if something horrible happened like that. Lost in thoughts, we all stood still surrounded by more and more guards. Suddenly Dorothy gasped. Her face was pale. My eyes shifted back. Someone pulled her heart out with their bare hands. It’s not me. I looked at my brother. It’s not him. He’s looking at Dorothy with his eyes wide open. Who really did that? “Are you happy to see me, hotties?” Jade said. Her face got revealed when Dorothy’s lifeless body fell on the floor.
