Sydney’s POV:
Two days later:
Time has gone way too fast. Everything’s back to normal. Jacen died, and I brought him back. But that guilt of watching him die is still killing me. It won’t fade away in a day. It may take a longer time to heal. But what matters the most is everyone I loved was safe and sound. I also brought Lydia and Mason back. Things that seem too impossible happened in a way I never expected to happen. I only thought of one thing. If I win, Lilith needs to bring back the life of Lydia and Mason and get us back to Slateville. But I was the one who did it all. Somehow, that demon helped me to get all of this. If she didn’t take all the powers from Lilith, I wouldn’t have got the powers to bring their lives back. Now it happened. We are back in the greatest witch house. Jacen told that’s where they found the portal to hell. But I heard one bad news, that the so-called greatest witch died after a few days. Nina told us. She should rest in peace. She lived her life for more than a hundred years. Now, I can think about one thing. That I got an immortal life. I can live with Jacen forever and ever...
“I’m so happy to see you,” Nina told, giving a tight hug to both of her sons. Then She looked at me with a smile on her face. She’s happy that I’m back, too. From the way she looks at me, I can see she always sees me as her own daughter.
“Come here,” Nina motioned for a hug. I hugged her back with happy tears in my eyes. Everything’s turned out to be good in the end. There’s more laughter in that room.
“Now, we should get back to the academy. Queen Victoria doesn’t know about anything.” Kassidy informed. Right. I need to see my mom. Hereafter, I could spend more time with my mom and dad. No one can stop me from stealing my happiness.
“Okay. But who are they?” Nina pointed her hands behind me. We already filled her with everything that happened in hell. I mentioned Mason and Phoebe. I couldn’t bring Phoebe back. Lilith already burnt her in hell. So, coming to the point, Nina is pointing her hands at Jade and Zissa. They are here too. They came back to us when I was about to create a portal to Slateville with my power.
“This is Zissa and Jade. They helped me in defeating Lilith. Now, I need to return the favour. I will be taking them to a world where humans live.” I told Nina. Jade and Zissa waved at her with a dagger in their hands. They don’t want Jacen or Noah, as I’m taking them to the world as I promised.
Soon, we all got on a bus on our way back to the Sapphire Academy. It still feels different that my name is Sapphire. I always see myself as Sydney. That’s the name my aunt kept for me.
“I’m so sorry, Jacen. I let you die before my eyes. I can’t forgive myself for that.” Suddenly I spoke while he both are sitting next to each other.
“I was the one who decided to kill myself, baby. If I didn’t do that, you wouldn’t have got your body back. There’s nothing to worry about it. I’m sitting next to you. Alive. You brought me back.” he assured, putting his hands on my shoulder and pulling me closer to him. I’m feeling so good when I’m safe in his arms. But I can’t stop myself from blaming myself.
“I brought you back in second place. I let you die at first. Feel my pain in my point of view,” I told him, trying not to cry.
“I can’t feel the pain, baby. But will you do a favour for me? Take it as a punishment for watching me die. That’s why you are blaming yourself, right?”
“Yeah, tell me what I need to do. I will do anything for you. What’s the punishment?” I asked. I’m ready to do anything, no matter how difficult it is.
But Jacen laughed. “Do you think I’m going to give you punishment? All you need to do is....” he trailed off and turned his face towards me. He locked his eyes with my eyes.
“Forget that things ever happened. Do you hear me? Forget that you watched me die. Take that image out of your mind. You shouldn’t remember that moment. It never happened. Do you understand?” He told in a hypnotizing voice. If I knew that he’s going to compel me to forget, I would have not done that. But it happened without a warning. He wants to erase my memory...
“What should I need to forget?” I asked him with an innocent face.
“Nothing, baby. We reached the station. We will be back at the academy in half an hour. Let’s get down.” He told me and got up happily and I kissed him once before getting out of my bus.
We arrived at the destination after some minutes. It feels so good to see this place. It’s a good memory. I remember the moment I came here with Jacen and Noah. I was so excited to learn some witch skills and meet some new friends. Eight months ago, I entered the Sapphire Academy as an orphan and now I’m entering here as a Queen of hell and an heir to this kingdom.
“Sydney, you are back. Oh my God, you are really back. You don’t know how much I’m grateful for god to see you,” my mom talked in astonishment. My dad came behind her, looking shocked and surprised. They both hugged me at the same time. This is the moment I need to embrace. I can talk about other things later. We all definitely need to think of an important thing.
How am I going to stay here and study while I also need to watch over hell?
