Author's POV
"Mom and Ella should be worried about me! But what can I do? Eric ordered servants to not let me use my phone or contact the outside world anyway!" Angela mumbled to herself with so much worry while her body moved from left to right, right to left adjusting her position on the bed not feeling like sleeping at all.
It's already turning out midnight, but she is all thinking about how to contact her family and friends without knowing anyone. She needs to be careful because her wrong moves could create a difficult situation for poor working staff and servants. She can't let that happen by any chance. She doesn't want innocent people to suffer for her.
With all these thoughts, she gets thirsty and gets up from the bed to drink the water which is already placed by the servant in the room, so she doesn't need to struggle.
But soon she panicked when she heard the unlocking sound of the room door late at night.
While her hand's grip turned tight around the water glass next later.
"W-Who's there?" She asked with a panicked voice while the next moment the door completely opened with a bang sound only to show Eric's figure in a drunken state.
He again drank until he couldn't handle it.
Angela looked at Eric with a disgusting look as the room suddenly reeked with an alcohol smell because of him.
'How many drinks did he get?' Angela thought inside her mind while Eric saw her standing beside the bed with not a happy face to see him.
However, alcohol almost made him forget about everything as he just wanted to communicate with her right now. He wanted to open up his heart to her.
"Angela…." His voice filled with tenderness while his feet started moving to her with a wounded smile on his face.
Angela frowned to see him moving towards her happily while she was staying in hell just because of him and his arrogance. Not to let her leave him.
"Eric, what the hell are you thinking about coming midnight here?"
"Just leave this room, right now! I don't want to see your selfish face…"
Angela's words made him look at her with heavy dizzy eyes. Before he moved fast to wrapped his strong arms around her back and hugged her as soon as he came closer to her, only making her gasp with shock the next second while she angrily tried to leave his arms, pushing her hands on his chest and shouting at him at the same time.
"Eric, leave me!"
"You can't touch me!"
The words came out of her mouth back to back with so much hate while Eric felt painful to discover that she didn't even want him to touch her. She feels disguised about it.
Will he be able to accept this hatred from her? No, he didn't want that in the first place. But their situation made him go beyond his nature.
This thought shook him to his core, whereas Angela tried her best to push the man from herself.
"I said leave me!" She yelled out with so much anger.
On the other side, this harsh thought of him, suddenly made him sorrowful, the happy smile vent down with an upset and hurt look on his eyes while his grips turned tight around her back and before Angela could push him more, he let his head fall on her shoulder and tears finally fell from his eyes only to show his hidden pain in front of her as his tears wet her bare shoulder skin.
"Angela…" His voice becomes powerless, as he never happens to feel something like this numbness, he needs her shoulder to let himself lose and cry. Lose his heart pain, which is now turning unbearable for him. He can't take it anymore. He can't take hate anymore. He doesn't want to see her angry or watch her hatred gaze at him.
The sharp gaze she gives to him all the time only makes him more panicky, anxious, and guilty. He felt a deep injury inside his soul which started to rotten with every second.
Sometimes love truly make a person harsh on the someone he loved with his whole heart, more than his own life.
However, it didn't make him less guilty for his actions.
He regretted making her stay here without her permission. For pushing her to hate him more, when all he wants to talk, is a simple talk with his explanation.
Angela was stuck, as soon as she felt something wet her shoulder and it didn't take her time to guess what it was before Eric finally spoke with a shattered voice, "Angela, please don't push me".
His voice was completely broken at this moment while his body was solely shuddering with suffering.
Angela felt frozen to realize what was happening to him.
He is crying! He is crying, finally like a broken person on her shoulder. She could feel that.
And this realization hit her heart, made her feel an ache in her chest while she couldn't let herself push him more as her hands slowly went down only to clinch her dress.
He is shrieking under her arms like a kid! He wriggled powerless at this moment as his sobs could be heard clearly by her.
She never thought one day she would witness him cry and more than that his tears were going to matter to her and her heart so much.
She felt stunned like a statue in her place as her eyes flickered with tears which were ready to come out any moment. Her eyes turned red while she felt too painful for her crusades.
However, she doesn't want to feel weak right now, so she combined her whole strength just to talk back to him later," Eric, leave me right now..."
Her words were strict and powerful. But Eric didn't let her go and next moment apologize to her in a pleading tone.
"Angela, I'm sorry…"
As soon as he mumbled that, Angela's heart turned numb while she was astonished. To hear him apologize.
This made her eyes turn blurred and tears finally fell from her eyes later. Without giving her time to stop them from coming.
