Author's POV
Angela finally arrived at Eric's parents' home. Bodyguards saw her but didn't stop her. As they knew her identity.
They greeted her but she walked silently and rang the bell.
The maid comes and opens the door for her.
"Hello, Mam!" The maid greeted her but as soon as her eyes went to Angela's appearance which did not look so good. She felt a little shocked.
Angela's hair is in a mess while her long dress is still wet. Her eyes were completely red and tired while puffiness showed she cried a lot. The tears-soaked mark on her cheeks.
Angela looked at her blankly and mumbled, "I want to meet mom and dad!"
Maid felt something was not right with her and nodded immediately.
"Yes, mam! Please sit down. I'll tell madam and Sir about your arrival!" The maid said before leaving to Mrs. Brooks's bedroom.
Angela silently stops there as she is still thinking like everything is just a nightmare. If she opened her eyes. Everything turns out again beautiful. But whom she wants to fool. Everyone betrayed her and that's never going to change.
A few minutes later, Mr. and Mrs.Brooks both come hurriedly as the maid informs them about Angela's arrival and how bad her appearance looks.
Hearing that both husband and wife come fast to look after Angela.
"Angela!" Mrs.Brooks came towards her and looked at her with a worried face as she could also see how miserable her daughter-in-law was looking.
Mr. Brooks also felt tenses to see her like this appear in front of them.
"Angela!" She touched her shoulder gently.
Angela's eyes looked at her blankly.
"What happened, dear?"
"Why are you in this state?" She asked worriedly.
Angela's expression changed as she looked at Mrs. Brooks's face and then moved her eyes to Mr.Brooks.
She never thought that one day they would be the ones who betrayed her and did something awful to her.
Her eyes filled with deep pain. Her mind spun Ayesha's words again and again where she told her that they are the main reason for her suffering.
"Dear, what happened? Why are you not saying something?" Mrs. Brooks's eyes turned moist and panicked to see Angela still silent and lost.
Mr.Brooks also felt nervous and asked," Angela dear, what happened? Tell us!"
"Your silence is scaring us!" Mrs.Brooks added.
Hearing both of their words, Angela finally looked at them with raw eyes and smiled bitterly.
She moved her eyes on Mrs.Brooks and mocked, "Mrs.Brooks are not you and your husband…." She glanced at Mr.Brooks also.
"One of the main reasons behind my condition today's!"
They both felt stunned to hear her unexpected statement and the way she formally called them but not mom-dad.
"Angela! Why are you saying this child? Is everything alright?" Mrs.Brooks felt too complicated to hear her words and held her hand.
"Where is Erish?" She looked at the door directly to think he should be coming behind.
"Why is he not with you?" She questioned and looked at her.
Angela chuckled out with bitterness feeling like a joke to hear 'Erish' name from their mouths.
"Erish? Did you just say 'Erish'?"
"Are you really don't know why Erish is not here with me?"
Mrs.& Mr.Brooks felt confused and tensed to see her behaving out of manner.
They both looked at each other with anxious faces. They never saw Angela like this.
"Angela! What are you trying to say?" Mrs.Brooks hesitantly inquired.
While Mr.Brooks is also waiting for Angela's response.
Angela smirked coldly, "I already know the truth!"
"Now you both don't need to pretend anymore that you truly care for me!"
"What 'Pretending'? What are you talking about?" Mr.Brooks felt angry to hear her but Mrs.Brooks' heart tightened.
Angela gazed at him and released her hand from Mrs. Brooks's palms.
"That the son you married me is not Erish but Eric!"
She shouted angrily while her eyes filled with pain. Her voice turned out to be broken when she completed those words.
"Eric…" Mrs.Brooks mumbled with shock.
Hearing these words from Angela's mouth they both felt thunderstruck in their places.
Angela saw their shocked faces and felt too hurt. She treated them just like her parents but what they did to her made her completely broken today.
"What? Are you both still going to act?" Her tears came out.
"That the one I married and vowed is Erish but not his brother Eric!" She felt desperate and broken down.
Suddenly, the atmosphere turned shady.
"Angela! Please listen to our expectations!" Mrs. Brooks's tears come out as she feels too guilty at this moment. She wanted to reach her.
"No! Stop there!" Angela raises her hand to stop her.
Mrs.Brooks felt too anxious and sinful to see Angela hurt because of them.
"You don't need to show motherly love anymore! Your fake worry, I don't need it!" Her words turned harsh with anger.
Mrs.Brooks felt hurt and shook her head.
"You are thinking too wrong, my child!"
"No! I'm thinking right!" She argued and added, "I was thinking wrong this whole past year! That you both care for me! That you both treasure me just like my own parents!" Her eyes rimmed red.
"That's true dear! You are just like our own daughter! We never thought you were different from our own sons!" Mrs.Brooks tried to explain with distress.
"Yes, Angela! We never think bad of you!" Mr.Brooks also added.
Angela felt their words were just lies…
Her tears ran down endless while breathing started turning heavy for her with each word.
"If you truly feel like that! You both never betrayed me like this and married me with Eric without my consent! And hide the fact about Erish Accident!"
"You all betrayed me!"
"No dear! Don't say it like this!" Mrs.Brooks felt broken
"But that is the truth…"
"The harsh truth...which just destroyed me, my soul, and my whole life!" She muttered, feeling shattered inside her.
Mrs.Brooks shook her head and pressed her mouth with her hands.
The guilty feeling craves their hearts.
